Sharon Stone has always been one of my favorite actresses. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen Basic Instinct and, fun fact, I used her character in that movie’s name as the fake name I gave to guys in bars (and the phone number I gave them to get them to go away was the movie theater times hotline…ahhh, youth) .The ageless beauty, who turned 60 on Saturday, not only still gives great interview, she may prove that the third time’s the charm in love and marriage.
Sharon was spotted on a sunny Miami beach on Thursday with her boyfriend, Italian entrepreneur Angelo Boffa. The actress was rocking a bikini top and relaxed drawstring pants and sported a sizable diamond ring on THAT finger. It’s a gorgeous emerald cut diamond on a simple platinum band. I’m envious. Angelo was wearing jorts, but he is still a handsome guy, so he gets a pass. Just don’t let it happen again. He’s 41, but that doesn’t matter, right? I certainly don’t care – and they look great together. The couple have been an item since at least January, where they attended a screening of Sharon’s new HBO series Mosaic in New York.
If Sharon decides to walk down the aisle with Angelo, it will be marriage number three. Sharon’s “starter marriage” (hey, that’s how I refer to my first one) was to TV producer Michael Greenburg. They married in 1984, separated in 1987 and the divorce was finalized in 1990. In 1998 she married Phil Bronstein, an executive editor at The San Francisco Chronicle, and owner of one of the best mustaches in the biz. Their union lasted five years, with Phil filing for divorce in 2003, citing irreconcilable differences.
I am not a 100% believer in love in first sight, but, if Sharon and Angelo are happy together, I don’t have a problem about them getting hitched. Sometimes when you know, you just know. Regardless if the ring is merely an elaborate token of affection or if there’s a wedding band joining it in the future, I’m glad Sharon’s happy and making the most of her 60th birthday. I hope I look that good and am sporting some bling on that finger when I hit that age (which isn’t too far away).

Sharon Stone has a new project coming out called Mosaic by HBO and Steven Soderbergh. It?s an interactive murder mystery in which the watcher gets to choose how they watch the storylines. Reader/viewer involvement projects kind of fascinate me so I will probably give this a try. If you don?t want to work for your entertainment, HBO will release it as a six-part miniseries on January 22nd.
In Mosaic, Sharon plays the murder victim, that?s not a spoiler, that?s straight from IMDb. The role is being discussed as her comeback, which is odd to me as her IMDb has her working steadily. So, I assume the comeback refers to the size of the role, she?s out front in the Mosaic promotion. As Sharon told Harpers Bazaar in 2014, she suffered a cerebral hemorrhage in 2001 and had a significant recovery period following that. Lee Cowan with CBS Sunday Morning interviewed Sharon about her comeback and the discussion turned to her status as a sex symbol and whether she?s been a victim of sexual harassment, to which she answered by way of a 10-second laugh.
Sharon Stone laughed out loud?for a full 10 seconds!?when Lee Cowan asked her on CBS Sunday Morning if she ever experienced inappropriate behavior during her time in Hollywood. “I don’t really know how to ask this in a delicate way, but were you ever in a position like that, that you felt that you were uncomfortable?” Cowan asked. As Stone cackled, he said, “You’re laughing. I don’t know if that’s a nervous laugh or ‘Are you kidding me? Of course I was’ laugh.”
After composing herself, Stone looked Cowan dead in the eye. “I’ve been in this business for 40 years, Lee. Can you imagine the business I stepped into 40 years ago? Looking like I look, from Nowhere, Pennsylvania? I didn’t come here with any protection,” she told him. “I’ve seen it all.”
Stone is a supporter of the Time’s Up movement, and like many of her peers, she wore black in solidarity at the 2018 Golden Globes. “We were raised to accommodate men, particularly in my generation, and women so often lose their own identity to the identity of the man that they’re with. They even change the way they dress and what they do to fit the men that they’re with,” she said. At last, the actress said, “We’re starting to acknowledge our own gifts as women and not think that we have to behave as men in order to be empowered, or powerful, or valuable.”

You can watch the clip here. The part that is getting the most attention is Sharon laughing at Lee?s question on harassment. I think the message she?s trying to make is that most people, men in particular, still don?t seem to grasp how common harassment is and that women were taught to grin and bear it. It?s a dramatic way for her to make her point but I?m not sure it?s the most helpful way to make it. But her point about women being raised to accommodate men is a good one. I don?t feel I’ve ever lost my identity to the man I was with, but I do know that many issues that women face like menopause, periods, gravity on the aging body, etc. are expected to only be discussed among women. At a recent get-together I discussed my loss of energy and how it?s affect my running schedule during perimenopause. A friend told me later that her husband had been uncomfortable with ?us talking about such intimate things.? She was honestly scolding me for saying the word ?perimenopause,? even though I only mentioned it was affecting my sleep and energy. Like Sharon, I am really tired of holding my tongue just because some man in the room was taught only his problems matter.

Sharon Stone is not always my favorite person but I do admire her advocacy for health. She works tirelessly for AIDS awareness and research. Plus she and her sister Kelly founded Planet Hope that helps disadvantaged children. I didn’t know that her sister Kelly suffers from lupus. Sharon and Kelly attended Lupus L.A. Orange Ball: Rocket to a Cure recently and were interviewed by Terri Seymour, herself a lupus sufferer who has been in remission for 10 years. Sharon told Terri that she does not have lupus herself, but as a carrier, suffered three miscarriages, something she’s touched on before, all at five and a half months. She now knows why but at that time there were no answers.
Only ?Extra?s? Terri Seymour caught up with Hollywood superstar Sharon Stone and her sister Kelly as the two banded together to raise money and awareness at Lupus L.A. Orange Ball: Rocket to a Cure.
Sharon was spending the special night with her sister Kelly, who is battling lupus. Sharon, who held back tears, was happy to be by Kelly’s side, commenting, ?I have to say I think it’s brought us a lot closer, wouldn’t you?? Kelly replied, ?I think so? It’s amazing that I have a sister who is not afraid to use her voice, and people listen and she loves me so much.?
Stone has also been affected by lupus, explaining, ?The Rh factor is a genetic thing, so all of the siblings have the Rh factor.? As a result, she had difficulties getting pregnant, pointing out, ?I can say that I had three, five-and-a-half-month miscarriages and no one had any answer for me, what’s going on, why is this happening to me. So, I think when we go through this as a family, it’s devastating that the medical community is not paying the attention that’s needed.?

I Googled some information on this but I recognize that I might get this wrong so please feel free to correct me in the comments if so. I think the ?Rh factor? Sharon is speaking about has to do with Rh negative blood which does have a big effect on pregnancy. Fortunately, there are ways today to maintain a pregnancy even with Rh negative blood, but that doesn?t factor in the lupus. My mother, who is Rh negative, carried and birthed three Rh positive kids in the 60s, prior to in-vitro transfusions and shots. She did have one miscarriage. Doctors like to ask us a lot of questions about how we came about since two of us should not be here. (We blame our mom, she never does anything she?s supposed to.) But three miscarriages well into her second trimester ? that?s tragic. I can?t imagine how hard it was on Sharon and the mix of emotions she must have had each time she found out she was pregnant. Sharon is a mom to three boys, whom she adopted.
In addition to fundraising, Sharon might be back on screen soon. Since Marvel likes gimmicks almost as much as Sharon, the rumor on the street is that she might appear as Janet Van Dyke, the original Wasp, in the next Ant-Man movie. And who else is in Ant Man 2? Basic Instinct co-star Michael Douglas. If they don?t find a way to incorporate an icepick and a Bart Simpson keychain, I?ll never forgive them.

With a plethora of amazing films under her belt, Sharon Stone has maintained a constant presence in Tinseltown for several decades.
The ?Casino? actress opened up to the September 2015 issue of Harper's Bazaar about her cerebral hemorrhage that put her career on hold for a bit. ?When I came to, the doctor was leaning over me. I said, ?Am I dying?? And he said, ?You?re bleeding into your brain.? I said, ?I should call my mom,? and he said, ?You?re right. You could lose the ability to speak soon.??
Stone continued, ?It took two years for my body just to absorb all the internal bleeding I had. It almost feels like my entire DNA changed. My brain isn?t sitting where it used to, my body type changed, and even my food allergies are different. I became more emotionally intelligent. I chose to work very hard to open up other parts of my mind. Now I?m stronger. And I can be abrasively direct. That scares people, but I think that?s not my problem. It?s like, I have brain damage; you?ll just have to deal with it.?

Confession: I?ve never thought Sharon Stone was a good actress. Yes, she?s beautiful and she?s got a brilliant plastic surgeon, but throughout her career, whenever I watch one of her performances, I?m always like ?Ugh, they should have recast this.? She got an Oscar nomination for her work in Casino, but riddle me this: wouldn?t ANY actress get an Oscar nom for that role? It was a well-written, meaty part and there were a dozen better actresses who could have nailed it. Anyway, I was thinking about my low opinion of Sharon?s acting skills when I read this story. Apparently, Sharon was hired for a low-budget film in Italy and now the Italian producers and publicly bashing her for diva behavior.
Sharon Stone?s Italian cinema debut hit theaters on Thursday ? and the brothers behind the film are painting the American actress as a diva who was difficult to work with. The film, Golden Boy, comes from celebrated director Pupi Avati and his producer-brother Antonio Avati. Casting Stone for the low-budget film was a big win for the duo.
In Golden Boy, Riccardo Scamarcio plays Davide, a copywriter whose father Ettore was a B-movie screenwriter. After his father dies in a car accident, Davide leaves his job, city and girlfriend Silvia, played by Cristiana Capotondi. He moves to Rome and meets Ludovica (Stone), a sexy actress-turned-publisher who wanted to release his father?s autobiography. Davide decides to write the book himself, in an effort to get to know his father, and Ludovica, better. Stone?s character is dubbed in the domestic version of the film, which is the norm for Italian releases. Avati wrote the script with Stone in mind.
?The idea of having her in the role of an actress from the 90s who becomes a book editor was mine,? said the director at a press conference in Rome for the film. ?I knew there are American actresses more capable then her, but I wanted a film icon. Everyday on the set I was telling her: ?But do you realize that you are Sharon Stone because of that day when you crossed your legs???
Getting her to sign up for the film was another story.
?My brother asked me if I was crazy,? said the director. ?Rai [Cinema] told me you will never ever get her. Then a correspondence started, enough to write a book, between her agents and our lawyers. It was a negotiation that bordered on ridiculousness, concerning embarrassing details, as if Italy was a third world country. By the way, we do have electricity in Italy,? he joked. ?Then she arrived in Italy. And we went to pick her up in Florence with a train from Italo that we rented just for her,? he said referring to Italy?s luxury train line. ?She was there to visit [Andrea] Bocelli. We had our first meeting with her: she was on the wrong railway track, sitting on her luggage and no one around recognized her.?
The producer claimed that as soon as she was spotted she transformed. ?Then, step-by-step, she started to feel more and more like Sharon Stone,? he said. ?On this rented train, everybody asked to take a picture with her. And when we arrived at the Tiburtina train station [in Rome] there were already about 30 photographers. We brought her to the most luxurious suite of the Hassler Hotel. The next day on set there were more than 200 paparazzi. There her ego definitively inflated. It is the classic pattern with these American actresses who are slightly declining.”
But it was the final scene that Pupi Avati says revealed the actress? most diva-like behavior. ?It was the last scene in the day and we had to do the last shot where Sharon kisses Scamarcio,? he said. ?Suddenly, she realized that together with all the photographers there was also a TV cameraman who was filming. She immediately disappeared. We looked for her everywhere, but nothing! Then my brother received a phone call from Los Angeles from her manager: she wouldn?t come back on the set until the photographers and especially that damned TV cameramen had gone away. Obviously we did so and she, like nothing happened, shot the scene. The thing that I found most absurd is that she had to call to the States and to close herself in a car, instead of coming to ask us directly.?
But despite the alleged difficulties, the director says he would not necessarily turn down another opportunity to collaborate with the actress. ?By the way,? he said, ?it is not absolutely true that I would never work with her again.?
Actress Cristiana Capotondi also commented on Stone?s behavior at the conference: ?To witness the Hollywood diva-ism clashing up against the craftsmanship of the Avati brothers was an unforgettable experience,? she said. ?The funniest thing was when she was going shopping for her character with the production?s credit card. She had a production runner following her, at a distance, to tell Antonio which shops she was going into. When the runner called to say that she was going into Bulgari, Antonio almost fainted.?
When reached for comment, Stone?s rep Cindi Berger told The Hollywood Reporter, ?None of this is true. Ms. Stone is the consummate professional.?

Whoa. I mean, is this surprising? Not at all. Remember what her kids? former nanny had to say about her? Remember how Sharon?s ex-husband couldn?t get away from her fast enough? That being said, I guess I?m surprised by the strident bitchiness of these producers. Maybe they?re trying to drum up publicity for their movie, which I had never heard of before today. But really ? I tend to think most actresses are like this. Especially ?American actresses who are slightly declining.? But seriously, why does anyone care about Sharon as an actress? She sucks.

Sharon Stone is 56 years old. And she looks like this. Amazing. Many of you think (and I tend to agree) that Sharon has had some subtle, quality face work over the years to maintain her beauty. Sharon?s really smart about it though ? she never looks ?Toxed to the gills, never puffy from too many fillers. Her goal was never to smooth out every line on her face. And I think that?s the secret to ?good work? ? be realistic. You can?t be 56 and want to look 30. You can be 56 and want to look 42 though.
But even Sharon Stone is not immune to the perpetual ?ass or face? debate. Sharon?s face looks amaze-balls, obviously, but what about her ass?
Sharon Stone admits she’s a little worried about taking her upcoming vacation.
“I haven’t worked out in a couple of months because I just didn’t feel like it,” Stone told me while promoting her Sharity.com auction of her clothes to benefit Yala, a Middle East and North Africa peace initiative for young people. “But now I’m going on vacation and I know what they’re going to do?[the tabloids] are going to put a circle around my ass and do one of those crazy magnified pictures saying, ‘What happened to her ass? It’s a bag of cheese.’ I would just like to say it’s a fine triple crme brie!”
She added with a laugh, “Right when they zoom in I should have a tattoo on my ass that says, ‘You wish you could get a bite of this.’”

Well, that?s a god attitude to take. I guess? I feel like Sharon probably has a more European sensibility towards the whole beachwear thing ? like, in Europe, no one cares if you?re out of shape and in a bikini. No one judges. At least that?s my perception of it as a gauche American.
Sharon goes on to describe her ?old lady workouts? with E!, saying that she works out ?like a savage? at the gym when she feels like it, and then swims in her pool with those pool noodles. Sigh? I wish a pool. Damn it.

The annual Cannes amfAR gala is Sharon Stone‘s baby. She loves to get tipsy (some might say sloppy drunk) and host the auction. This year, we haven’t heard any reports of Sharon laying kisses all over the male nearest her podium, so maybe she kept a lid on her drinking. Better luck next time.
Sharon wore a scarlet red Roberto Cavalli gown that was classy up top and near the bottom. The dress draped beautifully, and everything is fine if we don’t look at the awkward “cut-out” belt around her stomach. Those holes continue around the back of the dress too. How unfortunate.
Heidi Klum will surprise us someday by showing up to an event in a really amazing dress. This was not that event. Heidi wore Atelier Versace, and the dress looked decent on the runway. It was meant for a smaller breasted woman, but Heidi loves to bust out whenever possible. Even better? Busting out in a super embellished dress with a thigh-high slit while sporting a super orange fake tan. Never change, Heidi.
Rosario Dawson wore a navy Vionnet dress with cap sleeves and a deep-v mesh panel dressed up with a faux scoop neckline. Everything about this dress is awkward, and it doesn’t seem dressy enough for a gala. From the neck up, Rosario looks amazing. This dress is a complete “no.”
Barbara Palvin is one odd chick. She’s got a wacky personality that comes through in photos and even weirder taste in men (if Justin Bieber qualifies as a man). I can’t find the ID on this dress, but Barbara went very dramatic. She went vampy in a black gown with sheer legs, a plunging neckline, and granny panties shining through. It’s not awful.
Kelly Preston and John Travolta brought the CO$ discomfort to the gala. These two always look so wrong together, but they’re in it for the long haul. Kelly’s wearing Oliver Tolentino couture. The red lace looks really budget and itchy. John’s wearing a Sharpie work of art on his chin.
Jane Fonda keeps on killing it this red carpet season. She hasn’t embarrassed herself at all this year, and this gorgeous Atelier Versace dress is no exception. She’s 76 years old, and she’s better dressed than most of the ladies here.
Paz Vega chose a Fitriani couture dress with a dramatic plunging neckline that barely contained her girls. The structured hips are a risky move, but the slight fishtail and tiny belt help rein in the dress as a whole. I like it.
Liu Wen wore a pale blue Vionnet gown that looked like a cut-out nightmare. This dress reminds me a lot of January Jones’ 2011 Golden Globes Versace dress except that it’s not Versace. It’s Vionnet, so it’s a sloppy mess. The runway version included a white t-shirt.
Kylie Minogue looks ravishing in a Juan Carlos Obando dress. Satin can look messy and budget, but this dress is so well cut and tailored. She’s glowing.
Jess Weixler looked amazing in a soft blue Martin Grant gown. She looked old school and glamorous, but the statement neckline gave the dress an updated vibe.
Natasha Poly wore an emerald-green Marni gown with a structured bodice and a strange peplum. It’s beginning to look … a lot like Christmas?
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley broke out the Emilio Pucci with major cutouts on the side. I guess the strappy sandals match the cutouts, but this dress would have been so pretty in a solid material. A rare smile from Rosie does help the overall look.
Izabel Goulart wore a frothy, blush Pink Atelier Versace gown. This dress is deceptively complex and wonderfully tailored. Izabel let the dress do the talking with swept back hair and a simple de Grisogono diamond necklace.

I used to think Sharon Stone was aging naturally and well. But then many of you claimed that Sharon?s appearance isn?t merely about good genes and healthy living ? many believe she?s undergone some quality face work over the years. I?m sort of at that point with Sharon too ? I believe she?s had some work done and I believe the work has been astonishingly good. Anyway, Sharon covers the new issue of Shape, and at 56, she?s still comfortable enough to wear a bikini on the cover. I could not and I?m decades younger than her. In the interview, Sharon talks about plastic surgery, aging and how she?s never had any face work done. Do you believe her?
Aging gracefully: ?This idea that being youthful is the only thing that?s beautiful or attractive simply isn?t true. I don?t want to be an ?ageless beauty.? I want to be a woman who is the best I can be at my age.?
Is she really saying she?s never had work? In her new cover story, she touches on the fact that many surgeons have tried to get her to go under the knife for a face-lift. Her biggest concern with plastic surgery is that everyone is starting to look the same. ?We’ve got 400,000 girls with beachy blonde hair, the same nose, gigantic lips, implants in their cheeks, and little Chicklets for teeth. Are they really prettier?? she says.
She wasn?t always confident: ?There was a point in my 40s when I went into the bathroom with a bottle of wine, locked the door and said, ?I?m not coming out until I can totally accept the way that I look right now.? And I examined my face in the magnifying mirror, and I looked at my body, and I cried and cried and cried. Then I said to myself, ?You’re going to get old now. How do you want to do that?? And I thought, ?I’d like to age like a dancer.? I want to keep my body in shape like that. I want to do the work. I like to dance and stretch. And I like going to the gym.?
Her workouts: ?Every time I exercise, I do something different based on which areas need to get in motion,? she says. She credits her physique to total-body stretches, strength straining, yoga, and dance. She proves you can fit in a workout anywhere, and we mean anywhere. ?Sometimes I do a series of standing leg lifts and circles in the tub, using the water as resistance.?
She loves meat but she doesn?t drink: ?I like porterhouse steak, rib-eyes and New York strip. This works for me because I have very low cholesterol and low blood pressure. It’s not good for everyone; you have to talk to your doctor about that. I also eat fish and cheese. I like clean food prepared as simply as possible. I used to love wine, but I don’t drink at all now. I think, at a certain point, it’s better for women not to have any alcohol because it can make your face, breasts and midsection get very bloated.?
She likes who she is now: ?I?m not trying to make myself look like a girl because I?m not a girl anymore. I?m very happy about being a grown woman. I think there?s a lot of sexuality, and glamour, and allure, and mystery to being a woman that you just don?t have when you?re young.?

I stopped drinking for similar reasons several years ago, although now people think that I?m, like, an alcoholic on the program. No. I?m just vain and I hated the way alcohol was making me puffy, tired and irritable. But I don?t eat anywhere near as much red meat! Goodness. Some people can eat a lot of steak, and while I do crave red meat a few times a month, I can?t do it all the time.
As for the plastic surgery? well, she?s never confirmed that she?s had work done and she doesn?t seem to be explicitly saying that she?s NEVER had work done, so what we?re left with is some sort of oddly worded half-denial. I think if you have to play that fast and loose with the wording, you might as well admit you?ve gotten some subtle, quality work.

What goes with cropped yellow pants and a gold turnip necklace? I don’t know, but it’s not laceless orange wingtips, I can tell you that much. Ugh. Sharon Stone looks so angry here, like she’s about to start waving her cane and yelling at the neighborhood kids to get off her lawn. I guessed I’d be mad too if somebody caught me on camera in that outfit.

Drumming up support for her new flick ?Lovelace,? Sharon Stone headed over to the El Capitan Theater in Hollywood for an interview on ? Jimmy Kimmel Live? last night (August 5).
The ?Basic Instinct? babe chatted about her summer in Italy and getting to meet the Queen of England before commenting on her ?slapping scene? in the film with Amanda Seyfried.
?It?s a scene that was written in the movie, so everyone was prepared that it is what it is. It?s pretty much like when Joe Pesci threw me down the stairs in ?Casino.? You just get at the top of the stairs and suck it up.?
Stone added with authority, ?[I told her], ?You?re just getting a little tap on the face, honey. Let?s go.??
