Sure, it wasn’t nearly as hole-y as that Chanel outfit Kim Kardashian was seen wearing last week, but it was definitely more see-through!

Kate Upton attended the Fashion Media Awards on Friday night. She wore a white Emilio Pucci minidress that was pretty basic. Kate rarely brings it on the red carpet even though she’s stunning. I like the skirt’s subtle draping, but the top half looks uncomfortable. The dress needs some tailoring for sure. Those are Bulgari jewels. Kate won the Social Media award for being so active on Twitter and Instagram. The title is bittersweet because Kate probably wants little to do with the internet right now.
This was Kate’s first real outing since her iPhone photos were stolen in the massive celeb hacking ring. Kate has said she’s pursuing legal action. These photos weren’t actually on Kate’s phone (they were on Justin Verlander’s phone), which complicates matters. Kate was definitely the target. Justin sort of (not really) issued a comment on the situation: “I keep my personal life personal. The focus for me is on the Detroit Tigers. I don’t want to take any focus away from this team and what we’re trying to accomplish. We’re in the middle of a pennant race.” Dude is not happy, and I don’t blame him.
Kendall Jenner was at the FCAs to present. She wore Marc Jacobs. These pants remind me of a wicker lawn chair. Kendall recently dropped “Jenner” from her professional name, which means she’s a real model.
This wasn’t a huge fashion event even though it’s part of NYFW. Alessandra Ambrosio wore a sequinned nightie that looks like crushed velvet from a distance. Laverne Cox showed up in a cute skirt that had a cheerleader effect. CoCo Rocha looked fabulous in a white top and slit skirt. Dakota Fanning and Christy Turlington had some sort of tent-dress competition. Both of them can do better, but Dakota’s sandals elevate her ensemble to passable.

She never seems to run out of steam, and Kate Upton's new ad for Sam Edelman footwear is simple-yet-brilliant.
The 22-year-old blonde bombshell worked with Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott to pull off the perfect shot, including one of Edelman?s new creations and a white bed sheet.
Earlier today, Kate tweeted, "Love my new @sam_edelman fall campaign! Thanks to@ mertalas and @macpiggott for the amazing shots!"
And it sounds like Sam is pleased with how things turned out with the 5th highest-paid model of the year. He told WWD, "This campaign reveals Kate in an intimate one-on-one moment. With the launch of our apparel line this season, we can dress her from toe to head but sometimes all she wants are her Sams."

Kate Upton has been quiet on the gossip front, mostly because she’s incredibly busy with work and her new boyfriend (Justin Verlander of the Detroit Tigers). A cute new photoshoot has surfaced from when Kate was 15 years old. You should go look at it because it really shows off her star factor. Kate is 21 now, and her career has exploded. She still pops out for the occasional interview. She also co-hosted Live with Kelly and Michael on Friday. You can see a video of her appearance here. Some outlets are asking if Kate looks pregnant or not. I vote “not.”
Kate has a new interview with Details where she talks about several topics. She covers the lingering question of whether she’d pose for Playboy. Kate has done (link NSFW) body paint for SI: Swim. We all know what her breasts and booty look like because SI shoots leave little to the imagination. Kate has yet to fully disrobe, and she tells Details that the internet prevents her from doing so. She thinks nude shots should be “art” instead of pr0n.
Kate does step into slightly shady territory by discussing her “realistic” body. Uh-oh. This is slightly off-topic, but have you seen the new controversial Gap campaign? Some people wonder whether the internet has “skinny shamed” the model. The topic dovetails with Kate’s assertion that most shoots contain “too skinny” models who are retouched. Kate says most models really aren’t that skinny — they’re just airbrushed that way. Here we go:
Why she sells magazines: “I am the target audience. I?m 21 and I love fashion and I feel like a normal girl — at least to a certain extent. I think that people can relate to me. Most of the time the model is retouched and too skinny and other women get depressed by it. But really, that model who is being retouched and is too skinny is depressed as well. Because she doesn?t look like that photo either! It?s not realistic for that model or that woman reading the magazine to think she should look like that. I love my body and I feel very confident with where I am and who I am as a person.”
Did she always accept her body? “No, at first it was terrible! But then I got inspired by other women being inspired by me. Seeing that other women went through that as well made me stronger. I wanted to inspire them by going through it and making it out the other end. Everybody goes through hard times, regardless whether they didn?t get the job that they wanted or if they are being criticized for their body, so I think they can relate to that and people are rooting for me. Me being criticized is more on a global level, but it still hurts just as much for any girl if she?s at school being criticized or at work being criticized.”
She has to turn down high fashion offers: “Well, you?d be surprised how many offers I actually do get in fashion campaigns, but I unfortunately have to say no because my career is moving at such a rapid pace. I want to hit all the top things. I want Italian Vogue with Steven Meisel, but I can?t do all of the other things because I also want to shoot a movie. You think you can do it all. I?m traveling everywhere and I?m trying to do everything and I can’t.”
Why she hasn’t posed nude yet like Kate and Naomi: “For me those photos are art. Your body is art, your body is beautiful, and to be photographed in that way is amazing and it?s received in a very positive way. But with social media and the Internet and not so great blogs and the attention like that, I don?t think that my pictures would be received in the way that I?d want them to be received. That?s why I?ve stayed away from them. I really appreciate those photos and I think those women are beautiful, but I think social media and the Internet has prevented me from putting myself out there like that.”
Being a “bombshell” at 21: “It?s where I?ve started and it?s what I?ve accomplished, so I?m happy about it. But the more my career grows, I think that people will see that I have a lot more to offer and a lot more to give, but I want to do it right and that?s why it?s taking me time. I?m patient about it. Now it?s out of my hands — it has kind of been rolling on its own — but at the beginning I was micromanaging every little step.”

I don’t think Kate was “skinny shaming” in her discussion of weight. She could have phrased things better because some people will feel differently. She’s saying that there’s pressure on every model to look perfect, and airbrushing hurts everyone’s feelings. Especially models.
Kate is wise to not disrobe in the internet age. Any nude shoot she does would be sliced and diced on the “dude” blogs, and no one would consider it “art” at all. Scarlett Johansson said something similar about her Under the Skin role: “You assume it’s going to be a screenshot for someone.” Yep.

She?s probably not used to hearing ?no? very often, but Kate Upton actually failed to convince boyfriend Justin Verlander to get her a puppy.
The gorgeous blonde supermodel tweeted a photo with an adorable black and white pooch along with the caption, "Pleaseeeee @justinverlander.?
Unfazed by his babe?s beauty, the Detroit Tigers stud replied with a snapshot of his own dog Riley, who raised up one of his paws.
Verlander?s caption read, "If anyone objects raise your hand! #RileyObjects #jealous #RileyWins.?
It certainly seems that Upton lost the battle, but it wouldn?t be surprising if she ends up winning the puppy war.

Kate Upton covers the September issue of Elle UK. September issues are usually major fashion issues, and this cover is disappointing and boring. Kate’s wearing a Prada coat and a black turtleneck that covers her assets. I know Kate wants to go high fashion, but she’s graced multiple SI: Swim covers. Why is Elle UK hiding Kate’s most prominent asset?
These interview excerpts are interesting. Kate claims to be a farmgirl, yet she’s from Florida. There are farms in Florida. I checked. They’re not the corn and wheat and cow farms that we’re accustomed to in flyover country, but they have farmers in Florida. More important than the farm discussion is Kate’s declaration that beauty is really inconvenient. Huh:
Beauty is a hindrance: “Living on a farm, beauty doesn’t get you anywhere. Because I was pretty didn’t mean I could convince my sister to do my chores. It was kind of inconvenient to be pretty, growing up.”
The rise of the curves: “When I first started modelling, I was a normal catalogue model. Then, I became a woman, and I was really excited about becoming a woman. Because I?m from Florida, it?s all about being in bathing suits. It?s a different view of beauty there. You are ugly if you don?t have a curvy body. And I didn?t have one, and then I got one, and thought, ‘Yessss!’”
The inevitable fallout: “And then people say: ?Oh, wow, you?re healthy.’ And you?re like, ‘Wait — what? I?ve been begging for this body my whole life!’”

Sigh. I am a major Upton fangirl, and even I wonder what prompted these answers. She sounds vacuous. Any discussion of context would involve a lame excuse.
Upton’s words echo those of Jessica Biel, who told Allure in 2009, “[My beauty] really is a problem. I have to be blunt. I just want an opportunity.” Biel was complaining about her lack of auditions for acting gigs. A case could (possibly) be made for Biel wanting to play “serious” roles and abandon her crippling beauty to do so. Upton is a model by trade. She scores covers and campaigns because she’s gorgeous. Her playful personality is a plus, but there’s no way she’d get hired if she wasn’t pretty.
