Lori Loughlin & Mossimo 'regretted' not taking the plea deal offered last year
As we learned yesterday, Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli suddenly decided to take a plea deal in their long-winded case stemming from Operation Varsity Blues. Lori and Mossimo schemed, bribed and defrauded their daughters? way into USC. Lori became some kind of ungodly Becky-Karen hybrid where she was constantly running to People Magazine to whine about how unfairly she was being treated, because she was completely innocent and ?faith-based.? Fifteen months of that bullsh-t, only for Lori and Mossimo to take a plea deal similar to the one they were offered soon after they were charged.

They each plead guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud. Mossimo will also plead guilty to one count of honest services wire and mail fraud. The tentative terms of the sentencing recommendation to the judge for Lori was two months in prison, a $150,000 fine and two years probation, plus 250 hours of community service. Mossimo will get a sentence of five months in prison with a $250K fine and the same number of community service hours. Of course, a judge has to sign off on everything, including the sentences. That will happen this morning in a Boston federal court, scheduled for 11:30 am EST. Apparently, the hearing can be seen on Zoom. As for why they decided to take a plea deal now, well? of course they ran to People Mag:

Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli regret not taking a plea deal sooner, sources tell PEOPLE. On Thursday, the couple agreed to plead guilty to conspiracy charges connected to the college admissions case, according to an announcement from the Department of Justice. Now, over a year after they were first charged, a legal insider tells PEOPLE that they wish they had taken a deal sooner.

In hindsight, they should have taken the first deals offered to them last spring, which were nearly the same exact terms as this deal, the insider says. In April 2019, Loughlin and Giannulli refused any agreements that would result in jail time, instead choosing to move forward with a trial. Under federal guidelines, both of them would have gotten between 18-24 months in jail under a plea agreement. Felicity Huffman, who was also charged in the scandal, agreed to plead guilty and served 11 days of her two-week jail sentence.

They would have spent their time in jail by now and we wouldn?t be having this conversation. But they were still reeling from the accusations and trying to understand what they did that was allegedly wrong and illegal, so they weren?t ready to take the deal then, says the insider. But looking to the future, it made sense to take their medicine and move on.

A second source says the pending case weighed heavily on the couple. They were adamant about not agreeing to a plea deal from the beginning, because they didnt think the charges against them would hold. But as the prosecutor kept adding more felony charges, they were getting more involved in their defense and things just started spinning. It felt like it was never going to end, says the source, adding, They are of course concerned about jail time amidst the coronavirus outbreak.

Now that they are moving forward, the stars are breathing a sigh of relief, the legal insider says. ?Lori and Mossimo are going through the legal process and want to put this behind them, a source close to the couple notes.

[From People]

After fifteen months of PR shenanigans, thousands of billable hours by a team of lawyers and the knowledge that if they took this to trial, sh-t could most definitely GET REAL, that?s when Lori and Mossimo decided that a few months in prison actually sounded quite reasonable. And it is? If this was similar to the deal they were offered last year, I have no idea why they didn?t take it then. Was it because of white privilege? I bet that?s it.

Page Six also did a piece with ?sources? insisting that Lori has ?been to hell and back ? and will pay for the rest of her lifeShe?s the sweetest person, this has ruined her life forever, I feel like she?s already paid her dues at this point as this has been so stressful for her.? Oh fking spare me.

Lori Loughlin & Mossimo Giannulli agree to a guilty plea & prison time

Lori Loughlin & Mossimo Giannulli agree to a guilty plea & prison time
We?ve spent the last YEAR hearing from Lori Loughlin about how she?s too white, too rich, too privileged and too faith-based to ever have to face the consequences of all of her criminal activity. Lori and her husband Mossimo Giannulli were charged with a variety of crimes in connection to their attempts to bribe and defraud their two daughters into college. Most of the parents in connection with Operation Varsity Blues took plea deals. Felicity Huffman was one of those parents she got sentenced to a few weeks in prison, and they let her out early on good behavior. But Lori held out, thinking that she could simper and PR her way out of trouble. Now she?s taking a plea deal.

Lori Loughlin and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, have agreed to a plea deal in connection with their involvement in the college admissions scandal. The Full House actress and the fashion designer will serve two months in prison, pay a $150,000 fine and have two years of supervised release with 100 hours of community service for conspiracy charges, according to the U.S. Attorneys Office in the District of Massachusetts.

The Full House actress and husband Mossimo Giannulli will plead guilty to conspiracy for allegedly passing off their daughters as elite athletes and securing their admission to the University of Southern California, federal prosecutors in Boston said.

Loughlin has agreed to plead guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud, and Giannulli is now expected to plead guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud and honest services wire and mail fraud, authorities said.

[From ABC News & NBC News]

Two months in prison? She?ll probably go there and get released in a matter of weeks. But what do you make of the larger story of Lori and Mossimo suddenly deciding that they didn?t want to fight this out in a trial? Was it just a matter of the prosecutors making a better plea offer? Or was this always what was on offer and Lori finally came around to the idea that she would have to do some time?

Lori Loughlin & Mossimo claim Rick Singer lied to them & the FBI is covering it up
To recap, the FBI has a mountain of evidence against Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli. Lori and Mossimo are just two parents in the larger Operation Varsity Blues investigation of bribery, false documentation, mail fraud, fraud and more, all of which involved parents doing anything and everything to get their kids into a good college. In Lori and Mossimo?s case, they spent $500,000 to bribe various officials, and they also ?helped? their daughters pretend they were part of the crew team. Lori and Mossimo are counting on the complicated nature of their particular case to confuse jurors and average people so they claim some technicality is different than what the feds claim, therefore NOT GUILTY! Keep that in mind with this story:

An attorney for Lori Loughlin and her husband Mossimo Giannulli has filed a motion to have the decision on his clients? trial date postponed after claiming to have explosive evidence that allegedly reveals college admissions scam ring leader Rick Singer was told to lie by the FBI about Loughlin and Giannulli?s knowledge of bribes being paid. In court documents obtained by PEOPLE, Loughlin and Giannulli?s attorney Sean M. Berkowitz explains that prosecutors have released previously withheld ?exonerating? information about the couple, who have been charged with bribery.

The alleged information includes written notes by Singer ? the man at the center of the scandal and the founder and CEO of the company The Key: a Private Life Coaching and Counseling Company ? that detail concerning conversations he had with the FBI about ?recorded phone calls that they directed him to make to his clients in order to induce inculpatory statements to be used against those clients. Singer?s notes indicate that FBI agents yelled at him and instructed him to lie by saying that he told his clients who participated in the alleged ?side door? scheme that their payments were bribes, rather than legitimate donations that went to the schools,? Berkowitz states in the court documents.

?They further note the Government?s desire to ?nail? one of the defendants ?at all costs,? according to Loughlin and Giannulli?s attorney.

In what the attorney?s claim is Singer?s ?own? notes, he described ?loud and abrasive calls? with FBI agents.

?They continue to ask me to tell a fib and not restate what I told my clients as to where their money was going ? to the program not the coach and that it was a donation and they want it to be a payment,? Singer allegedly wrote in his notes, the court documents reveal. ?Essentially, they are asking me to bend the truth? Liz raised her voice to me like she did in the hotel room about agreeing with her that everyone bribed the schools. This time about asking each person to agree to a lie I was telling them,? Singer allegedly wrote about what appears to be one federal agent.

Now with this new information, Berkowitz is hoping to figure out whether or not Singer actually told Loughlin, 55, and Giannulli, 56, their donations were bribes or if their donations were going to the school.

[From People]

You can read the rest of it at People it?s a lengthy piece and it reads like it was entirely written by Lori and Mossimo?s lawyer. The crux of their argument is that Lori and Mossimo were just bumbling along and Rick Singer came around and told them out of nowhere that if they gave him $500K, he would simply be the middleman for a legitimate donation to USC. Lori and Mossimo?s lawyer is claiming entrapment, basically, and that Singer never explicitly told them that they were doing anything illegal. Again, ignorance of the law is not a defense, and even if Singer did lie to them which, honestly, he probably did that doesn?t explain how they Photoshopped crew images or all of the other stuff.

Lori Loughlin & Mossimo have put their Bel Air home on the market for $28 million
Added 4 years agoSource: CeleBitchy
Lori Loughlin & Mossimo have put their Bel Air home on the market for $28 million
For some reason, I thought Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli?s trial would be starting in the next few weeks, but I got confused by all of the recent hearings and court appearances. Apparently, the trial has been set for October, which feels like a lifetime from now. That?s probably why Lori and her team have eased up on the leaks to Us Weekly and People Magazine too there was a flurry of bullst at the end of last year, like how Lori is at ?rock bottom? and how she?s convinced she will end up in prison. There hasn?t been a lot of info about Lori and Mossimo?s finances though. I thought they were probably in good financial shape, although it probably hurt them that Lori got sh-tcanned from all of her Lifetime work. But this is a bad sign, in general:

Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli have listed their massively expensive home, TMZ has learned, but our sources say it has NOTHING to do with the college admissions scandal or their upcoming trial. Lori and Mossimo have quietly put their Bel-Air estate on the market for $28,650,000. Its in one of the best areas of L.A.

Sources close to the couple tell TMZ, theyre doing what they always do following Mossimos passion for architecture. Hes super talented at redoing homes, and this ones no exception. They bought the house in 2015 for $13.9 million and listed it 2 years later for $35 million but took it off the market in July 2018. The house is pretty great 12,000-square-feet, 6 bedrooms, 9 baths and on and on.

So Mossimo did his thing, and now theyre ready for another home challenge. Theyve done this for years, selling the family home every 3 to 5 years. And, check this out. Realtors at this price point typically get 5% of the purchase price which they split if theres a separate agent for the seller and the buyer. If someone offers full price that would mean the commission would be $1.43 million. The deal is the commission will be maxed out at $1 mil take it or leave it.

[From TMZ]

So Mossimo and Lori are house-flippers? So many celebrities do that in LA Jeremy Renner comes to mind, as does Ellen DeGeneres. Even Jennifer Aniston has flipped some big LA real estate too. Anyway, I think this is partially about house-flipping and partially about? maybe some money woes. They don?t have anything coming in, right? And they?re looking at their future and thinking about a major downsize? Perhaps.

Lori Loughlin hired an 'advisor' to help her understand what prison life is like

Lori Loughlin hired an 'advisor' to help her understand what prison life is like
Lori Loughlin?s next court appearance will be in a few weeks, January 17th. I?m not 100% positive, but I don?t think that date is for the start of the trial, but I?m sure the trial date is coming up soon enough. Lori has been leaking to People Magazine for months with endless updates about her state of mind and how tough it is to be a rich faith-based white lady who got caught doing crimes. We?ve been regaled with pity-poor-Lori stories from the get-go, but over the past few months, we?ve been getting another kind of story: Lori Prepares For Jail. Lori Prepares For Court. Lori Is Worried About Jail And The Trial. I guess some crisis manager probably thinks this makes her look sympathetic, but I?m not buying it and I don?t think many people are. Anyway, the latest Lori Prepares For Jail story is that she?s hired a prison consultant to teach her how to behave if and when she does get sent to the pokey.

Lori Loughlin is preparing for every possible outcome in her upcoming trial in the high-profile college admissions scandal ? including learning what life will be like if she ends up serving jail time. ?She has someone who is advising her what to do in case she loses her case and goes to prison,? a source close to the Fuller House actress tells PEOPLE. ?The advisor is there to help her learn the ropes. That?s not to be construed that she thinks she?s going to lose her case. Lori is a planner, and she is doing what she needs to do for all contingencies.?

The source close to Loughlin insists that she will mount a vigorous defense. The couple filed a motion last month claiming that they didn?t know their donations would be used as bribes. They say that they were hoodwinked by Singer. The couple has closely followed other high-profile cases in the scandal, and realize that many defendants who have pleaded guilty have still had to serve jail time. (Actress Felicity Huffman was sentenced to 14 days in prison.)

?They realize that if they are convicted, they?ll have to serve time,? says the source. ?And they?re figuring out what that would look like, which includes hiring a consultant to explain prison life to them. The whole point is to have someone tell her how to keep herself safe. She needs to keep a low profile if she?s incarcerated. Obviously, she?s going to stand out, because of all the publicity and because she?s a star. She can?t do anything about that. But she doesn?t want to stand out because she?s so green that she does the wrong things.?

The source says that the actress is trying to grow from the experience. ?She wants to understand what the experience will be like, and how to not only survive it, but flourish in it,? says the source. ?She is looking at this whole thing as a learning experience, and this is one more thing that she?s trying to learn.? So what are some of the things she may be trying to learn? The source would not disclose specifics, but acknowledges that life is different in jail ? and that Loughlin is learning how to avoid making common mistakes. Table manners are different; social interactions are different. Here on the outside, eye contact is a good thing. You meet someone and you shake their hands and stare them in the eyes. In prison, you might not do that. You don?t want to challenge someone. Prison is a very different world than Hollywood, and Lori is just trying to be prepared. She?s preparing for the worst, but hoping for the best.?

[From People]

Granted, I know all prison and jail stays are unpleasant and it?s a matter of degrees, but there is a massive difference between ?San Quentin? and ?whatever low-security federal women?s prison Lori would get sent to.? She?s not going to be rooming with the Unabomber, she?s going to be working laundry shifts with low-level drug dealers and eating lunch with tax frauds. My argument is that prison probably isn?t radically different than Hollywood. There are cliques, there is a code of omerta, and the food served will make it easy for her to stay on her diet. That being said, how much do you love that Lori is being scammed by this prison consultant?

Lori Loughlin is facing an additional bribery charge, she could get 50 years in prison

Lori Loughlin is facing an additional bribery charge, she could get 50 years in prison
Aunt Becky is screwed!! Hahahaha. Am I being too mean? It?s just that Lori Loughlin truly thought she could ?manage? federal felony charges and wave them away with leaks to People Magazine. She thought she could wear white and talk about her faith-based life. She thought her white-woman privilege would protect her. And? it?s all blown up in her face. Shortly after Lori and her husband Mossimo were initially charged with many crimes (for their part in the college-admissions scheme), federal prosecutors offered her a plea deal which would have still involved prison time. She turned them down. The prosecutors added more charges, and Lori was already facing 10-20 years in prison if convicted. Well? now prosecutors have added additional charges. As I said, Aunt Becky is f-cked.

Felicity Huffman is halfway through her prison sentence for her role in the nationwide college bribery scheme, but Lori Loughlin could be looking at a lot longer stretch if found guilty for getting her daughters into USC under false pretenses. Having plead not guilty this spring to various federal charges from ?Operation Varsity Blues,? the former Fuller House star and her husband Mossimo Giannulli are now facing a new bribery claim from the office of the U.S Attorney for Massachusetts. A new charge that potentially adds a decade more behind bars to the couple if found guilty at the trial expected next year.

In total, Loughlin and Giannulli are staring down the long road of 50 years in prison and around $1.23 million in fines each. As new of the scandal broke and has grown over the past several months, both of the duo?s daughters have left USC ? the high-profile school their parents apparently played fast and loose with the law to get them into.

?Today?s charges are the result of ongoing investigation in the nationwide college admissions case,? said U.S. Attorney Andrew Lelling Tuesday after the new indictment against the once high-flying couple, STX founder Bill McGlashan, Jr and eight other deep pocketed parents was made public. ?Our goal from the beginning has been to hold the defendants fully accountable for corrupting the college admissions process through cheating, bribery and fraud. The superseding indictments will further that effort.?

To be specific, with no new arraignment date set yet, the 11 parents are charged in the third indictment with conspiring ?to commit federal program bribery by bribing employees of the University of Southern California (USC) to facilitate their children?s admission. In exchange for the bribes, employees of the university allegedly designated the defendants? children as athletic recruits ? with little or no regard for their athletic abilities ? or as members of other favored admissions categories.?

[From Deadline]

Well, ain?t that something. Before now, I bet Lori thought her big plan to white-church-lady her way out of a conviction was going to work. She thought if she batted her eyelashes and cried a little on the stand, maybe a jury would take pity on her. But the charges keep piling up. Lori and Mossimo are going to be out of money just on legal fees before this whole mess is over, not to mention all of the fines they?ll have to pay if they?re convicted of even HALF of these charges.

Lori Loughlin had a 'rough day' watching Felicity Huffman get sentenced
Felicity Huffman took the plea deal and only received 14 days in prison. Lori Loughlin rejected the plea deal and more charges were added to her federal indictment. It doesn?t appear that federal prosecutors are interested in offering Lori and her husband Mossimo any other deals, or maybe they did offer a deal and Lori rejected those too because they came with prison time. All I know for sure is that Lori Loughlin has screwed herself over with all of the ?faith-based? leaks to People Magazine and the pity-poor-me bullst. Just after Felicity?s sentencing, ?sources close to Lori? were feeling especially chatty with People Mag yet again.

As news spread that Felicity Huffman had been sentenced to 14 days behind bars for her role in the college admissions scandal, one of the other defendants was paying close attention to the proceedings. Lori Loughlin, who has also been implicated in the scandal, was watching very closely on Friday to see whether Huffman got any time in jail, according to a source close to the Full House star.

?Lori is aware of Felicity?s sentence, and is processing what that means for her,? the source tells PEOPLE. ?Her only move now is to take this to court and to prove that she is not guilty of what she?s charged with.?

?If [Lori] is found guilty, she will go to jail; that is clear,? the source says. ?And if another deal is offered to her, which I don?t think it will be, she will go to jail. Her only chance of avoiding jail is to beat these charges. Lori is a smart woman; she understands that. She?s scared and upset, but she?s resolved to be strong and to fight this. She will do what she has to do to protect herself and her family.?

According to the source close to Loughlin, she ?regrets? not taking a deal. ?She didn?t understand the entire nature of the charges against her, and she wasn?t even sure if or how she had broken the law,? the source says. ?It was very early, and she didn?t have all the information that she has now. Based on what she understood at the time, she made the best choice for herself. Now there is no deal on the table, and she has to have faith that the courts and the prosecution will move fairly and not make an example out of her.?

?This has been a rough day,? the source says. ?Lori is going to move forward as best as she can, but now she has a little more clarity about what will happen next.?

[From People]

Ignorance of the law is NOT A DEFENSE. Years of watching Law & Order taught me that. Just because you don?t understand the depth of the crimes you?ve committed or why you?re being charged a certain way, that does not mean anything. ?I didn?t know? is not a legal defense or a legal strategy. It?s especially rich for Lori because? she has a lawyer. She?s probably paying tens of thousands of dollars in legal fees, it?s not like she?s got a public defender (no disrespect to public defenders, you guys are doing the lord?s work). If she was confused by the charges or if she didn?t understand why she was charged the way she was, she needed to get her lawyer to explain the sh-t to her.

But maybe this is all part of the act: Lori is super-innocent, she innocently tried to bribe someone with $500K to fake her daughters? sports activities, it was all just an innocent mistake and it?s all so innocent, she can?t even conceive of how anyone would find the activity to be CRIMINAL, and even when she was facing down federal felony charges, she was too innocent to even understand the charges. That?s her defense. That and the church sh-t.

Lori Loughlin & Mossimo still go to church every Sunday: 'They feel a lot of support'
Page Six is part of the New York Post, which is part of the Murdoch empire, so I always regard Page Six?s agenda with a healthy amount of skepticism. That being said, I fking love it when they do bitchy, in-depth stories about certain celebrities. They recently did a longer piece on Taylor Swift and her history of misrepresentation. And now they?re coming for Lori Loughlin?s scamming ass. Lori and her husband Mossimo are due in court in Boston this week for something to do with all of the felony charges they?re facing with the Operation Varsity Blues scandal. Which is why they?re on the current issue of People Magazine, and it?s why we?ve been getting all of these updates about how Poor Lori is doing. Don?t you know she?s been living in her own PRISON. Don?t you know how faith-based she is. Some highlights from this Page Six piece:

Lori & Mossimo are locked down in their $35 million mansion in Bel Air: ?Lori and Mossimo are being contemplative and spiritual right now. Lori goes out a little bit, but the paparazzi follow her everywhere. She?s like a hunted animal.? They have been lying low. Loughlin has curtailed her usual yoga classes and Body by Simone workouts.

They go to church every Sunday: The one place she still shows up every week: The Church of the Good Shepherd, a Catholic house of worship in Beverly Hills. ?They feel a lot of support there,? said another pal.

Their neighbors don?t want to hang out: ?A lot of these people are socially prominent, give to charities, have done the right things wealthy people are supposed to do in this town. They?re scared they might get ostracized by association,? said a Bel Air insider of the couple?s friends and neighbors. ?They?re calling less, inviting less. Hanging back ? for now. If [Giannulli and Loughlin] are not convicted, everything will go back to the way it was. But if they are, well, they might want to move. It?s sort of Bel Air ?Bonfire of the Vanities.???

Their daughters? classmates & fellow parents don?t want them around: A Loughlin source added: ?The [friends and neighbors] with kids in college or kids who?ll be applying to colleges next year, they?re afraid an association with Lori and Mossimo ? even with Olivia and Bella ? might make them appear ?entitled.? Which is something you don?t want to seem, even in Bel Air, at least, for this moment.?

Their marriage is strong though: Although there have been reports that Loughlin and her husband of 22 years are being pulled apart by the scandal, the family friend denies this. ?Mossimo and Lori are still very much in love,? she said. ?It?s been trying for all of them, but they understand this is life and they got taken advantage of.?

They plan to blame everything on Rick Singer: According to insiders who spoke to The Post, the couple put the onus on scandal mastermind Singer and are planning a legal strategy claiming they had no idea their contributions were ?bribes? to get their daughters accepted. ?They thought Rick Singer was legit, that they were helping people by giving him a charitable contribution,? said the family friend of Singer?s KWF Foundation, through which the money was allegedly laundered and which claimed to benefit underserved children. ?He was lying, not them.?

Olivia Jade?s plans for the future: ?[Her dad is] encouraging her to do a beauty line ? makeup, hair, skin care. She wants to use her new broader fame to her advantage,? said a neighbor. As for Isabella, the neighbor said she ?wants to be an actress. She?s hoping the USC business won?t affect her in Hollywood. In fact, it could actually help with both of their careers. They are nationally famous now, much more than they were. They just need good advice.?

[From Page Six]

There?s also this hilarious quote from a TV casting agent: ?No matter what happens, I don?t see Lori getting new gigs. If Felicity Huffman could plead guilty and apologize, why can?t Lori? She can play the victim here ? but nobody?s a good enough actress to make us believe that.? I would say that Lori specifically is not a good enough actress to make us believe that she?s totally innocent. As for the rest of it? it hits all the sweet spots. They go to church every Sunday! Their fancy Bel Air friends are snubbing them! No one wants to look ?entitled? at the moment.

And honestly, I?m still laughing about the Rick Singer thing Singer was truly working with the FBI. You could make the argument that he entrapped the parents, maybe, but that?s not even what Lori and Mossimo claim. They claim that they had no idea that he was going to scam their kids into college. It won?t hold up.

Lori Loughlin's new legal strategy is to put the college-admissions system on trial, lol
Imagine for a moment that you are Lori Loughlin. You forced your dumb daughters to scam their way into college, and you shelled out $500,000 in total on the scam. You actively participated in the scam, and probably even largely orchestrated the scam, with some help from a guy who, you later learned, was working with the FBI to expose your scam and the scams of other rich parents. Then you get arrested for wire fraud and other federal crimes because of the scam. You refuse a plea agreement because, again, you?re rich and white and you believe in your heart that you can simper your way out of this. You then spend months leaking to People Magazine about how you?re faith-based and simply a caring mother, that?s why you did all those crimes. What else is there to do? Well, if you?re a genius like Lori Loughlin, you?ll decide to put THE SYSTEM on trial. Yes, Lori wants to ?expose? USC for their admissions process. The same admissions process she successfully scammed. Brilliant.

A bloodbath in the making. Lori Loughlin wants to take the University of Southern California (USC) to task amid claims that the college might sue her and husband Mossimo Giannulli. According to documents obtained by Us Weekly, Loughlin and Giannulli?s attorney, BJ Trach, issued a letter to prosecutors about how USC is represented by the same firm as her clients. (USC hired the firm in regards to an issue regarding the Coliseum.) While Trach asserted it would not be a conflict of interest to represent both parties, the letter stated that USC ?suggested that Latham?s representation of Ms. Loughlin and Mr. Giannulli poses foreseeable conflicts because it is possible that USC may have civil disputes with one or both sometime in the future.?

Loughlin isn?t taking the potential litigation news lying down. A source confirmed to Us that the Fuller House star aims to uncover the truth behind USC?s admission tactics.

?Lori feels that USC is going to do whatever is necessary to attempt to financially ruin her family. USC accepts extremely substantial donations, which will typically result with a child from that family enrolling,? the insider shared with Us. ?Lori wants to expose USC?s admission practices and looks forward to her day in criminal court.?

The source also added that it would be USC?s ?prerogative? if they chose to file a civil lawsuit against Loughlin and 56-year-old Mossimo designer. ?Lori and Mossimo will defend themselves, and would anticipate a very robust and thorough discovery process of USC?s admissions and large financial donations in which a child became a student at the university,? the insider concluded.

[From Us Weekly]

It takes some kind of brass balls to argue that yes, your scam worked and your dumb daughters were successfully accepted and enrolled in USC but that they only reason you were arrested is because you didn?t spend ENOUGH money getting them in. YOU CAN?T HANDLE THE TRUTH! No, in all seriousness, is what they call ?a difference in kind.? There?s a difference between ?mommy and daddy donating a building to a college so that their kid will be admitted? versus ?mommy and daddy perpetrating a scam on the NCAA, testing companies and admissions officers to get their kid enrolled.? Both options are sleazy and awful, but only one is illegal. For Lori to now argue that she can ?expose? the fact that? rich parents donate sh-t through legal channels to get their kids admitted, well, that?s the kind of dumb legal strategy I would expect from her.

Lori Loughlin is unemployed & becoming 'extremely well-versed' in her legal case
People Magazine has been running ?exclusives? about Lori Loughlin for more than a month now. When the indictments came down in March, People didn?t do much with the story at first, perhaps because they were waiting to see if they could get some kind of exclusive with one of rich scamming mothers, like Lori or Felicity Huffman. Felicity kept her PR tight and didn?t leak much of anything to gossip outlets. Lori, on the other hand, has been an absolute trainwreck from a PR perspective. This is one of those situations where a decent crisis manager would have told her to STFU and show some humility a month ago. But Lori keeps on, authorizing ?friends? and ?insiders? to speak to People on her behalf. And by that I mean, Lori is speaking to People with the understanding that People will say she?s an ?insider.? A faith-based insider who is TOTALLY stressed out and yet strong and fightery and very lawyery. She?s super-into lawyering, you guys.

Two months after pleading not guilty in the college admissions cheating scandal, Lori Loughlin is coping with her new reality.

?Lori is in a stressful situation,? a source tells PEOPLE in this week?s issue. ?She isn?t working, and her whole life focus has changed drastically,? the source says of the actress, who was dropped by Hallmark Channel after the scandal broke. ?It consists of waiting around for the next court date and planning her legal defense.?

The couple pleaded not guilty in April. They had previously turned down a plea deal because it included jail time. According to the source, the Fuller House star stands by her and her husband?s decision. ?[Lori] still believes she did the right thing by rejecting a guilty plea,? says the source, who adds, ?She is a fighter.?

And while the developments are ?not great? for the couple?s marriage, according to the source, Loughlin and Giannulli are ?trying to get through the legal hurdle as a team.?

Earlier in May, an insider previously told PEOPLE that ?they are both mounting a vigorous defense against the charges.?

?Lori in particular has become extremely well-versed in the case,? the insider said. ?She?s an active participant in her own defense, feels like she?s got a valid defense, and that when all the evidence comes out, she won?t be found guilty.?

[From People]

Whoever is on Lori?s legal team now, I?m begging you: please convince your client to stop leaking this sh-t to People Magazine, it makes her look sad and dumb. Lori basically called up People Mag to tell them that she?s out of work and her marriage is falling apart, but she?ll never admit that she made some terrible mistakes. I would like to know why Lori is so convinced that no one will ever believe that she?s guilty of the crimes of which she?s been accused. Because all of these People stories have convinced me that she dumb enough to knowingly enter into this kind of expensive and sleazy scam.
