As we discussed yesterday, Asia Argento now claims that Jimmy Bennett sexually assaulted her in 2013. At the time, he was 17 and she was 37. Unlike her previous claim that nothing happened, her new version is that he ?jumped her? and that she was ?frozen? when they had sex. She claimed that Anthony Bourdain agreed to pay off Bennett to save her reputation and cause the least amount of drama. Now that the story is out there, Argento refuses to pay the rest of the out-of-court settlement she agreed to with Bennett. And so? no surprise, Bennett is filing a sexual assault claim with the LA County Sheriff?s Department.
Asia Argento has just poked the bear, because weve learned Jimmy Bennett who was 17 when he had sex with her is going to the L.A. County Sheriffs Dept. to file a sexual assault claim against her and cooperate with the investigation. Bennett, who is now 22, has been on the fence as to whether hed cooperate with authorities, but hes now decided to go full steam ahead.
Were told Bennetts tipping point was the statement Argentos lawyer released Tuesday, attacking his character. Her lawyer, Mark Heller, talked about Bennetts unfortunate past, stalled acting career his desperation to seek money. Heller also referenced that Bennett had been a drug user. Bennetts lawyer, Gordon Sattro, tells TMZ, the attack on my clients character has no bearing on the events that took place on May 9, 2013. These are statements that are meant to intimidate, shame and insult my client.
The maximum penalty for statutory rape in California in a case involving a 17-year-old is 3 years in prison. Attorney Heller tells TMZ, Asia encourages anybody, including Bennett, to come forward with any allegation concerning a sexual assault, and she is prepared to take any and all steps necessary to continues to protect her reputation and defend against any false allegations.

As I have said repeatedly, I believe Jimmy Bennett. I believe his story, and I believe that he really didn?t want this to become public. I believe it took him years to understand what happened to him and that he was disturbed by Argento being hailed as a fearless victim. To be clear, I also think Argento was a victim? of Harvey Weinstein. But I also think she was a predator when it came to Jimmy Bennett. As for Bennett filing a sexual assault claim? we?ll see if anything happens. I have my doubts.

As I?ve said before, I couldn?t even keep Asia Argento?s story straight. I doubt she could keep her story straight either she seemed to be telling different people different things about Jimmy Bennett. We know that Argento, Anthony Bourdain and Argento?s lawyers arranged to pay Jimmy Bennett a private settlement of $380,000. We also know that Argento seemed to admit that she and Bennett had some kind of sexual relationship when speaking to other people, but that she denied that it happened in her own public statement. Bennett made a public statement after the news of a settlement came out, where Bennett spoke about not wanting to come forward because of the stigma of being a man or boy who is sexually assaulted. I believed him. I believed Asia Argento got him drunk and raped him when he was just 17. I believed that he had no desire to tell his story publicly, but as he saw Argento embraced by the Me Too community, he was left feeling unsettled. Anyway, Argento has more to say
Asia Argento says Jimmy Bennett who had sex with her when he was 17 years old is lucky she didnt file charges that HE sexually assaulted and then extorted her. Argentos lawyer, Mark Jay Heller, tells TMZ, his clients text messages that TMZ posted tell the real story about what went down at the Ritz-Carlton hotel in Marina del Rey, CA. The text in question read, The horny kid jumped me I had sex with him it felt weird. She goes on to say she was frozen when he was on top of her. Heller says, Asia chose at the time not to prosecute Bennett for sexually attacking her.
As for her statement after the story broke I have never had any sexual relationship with Bennett Heller says she was being honest because it was a one-time only encounter and not a relationship.
Heller goes on to claim Bennett smelled a payday and tried to extort Argento, especially when he found out she was dating Anthony Bourdain. He says Bennett chose to intrude on that relationship and demand financial payment from Bourdain in consideration for not embarrassing Asia and indirectly Bourdain
Heller says Anthony chose to protect Asia by agreeing to pay $380k even though she did nothing wrong. And, Heller says, Bourdain paid $250k up to this point, but Argento will not pay the balance.
Heller ends by attacking Bennett, saying, Asia does not intend to prosecute Bennett for his conduct and recognizes that his unfortunate past, his stalled acting career, and a lawsuit against his own parents for allegedly misappropriating more than a million and a half dollars from his account might explain his desperation to seek money from Asia and Bourdain for this falsely alleged incident that took place more than 5 years ago.
The attack against Bennett is odd because Argento has spoken out against shaming alleged victims in sexual assault cases. Bennett claims he was indeed sexually assaulted by Argento.

I?m already really tired today so I?m not going to beat around the bush. Here?s what I think: I think Argento is a manipulative predator who sexually assaulted a 17 year old boy, then manipulated her boyfriend (Bourdain) into paying the kid off. I think she?s only saying Bennett assaulted her is because she doesn?t have the money to pay off the rest of the settlement. Maybe I?m wrong. But good God, this is gross. What she?s doing to this young man is really unsettling.

We spent all of last week talking about Asia Argento. Argento and Anthony Bourdain ?paid off? a young man named Jimmy Bennett when Bennett privately accused Asia of sexually assaulting him when he was just 17 years old. Asia?s story has already changed a few times, but I think the version she landed on was that nothing happened, or if something did happen, it was consensual, or maybe it didn?t matter because he was obsessed with her. Some version of that, it seemed like she told different versions to different people, including Bourdain. Late last week, Jimmy Bennett issued his own statement and well? I believe him. I think Asia assaulted him. And now it seems that in the Me Too era, female predators are treated the same way as male predators: they lose their jobs too.
Asia Argento has been dropped as a judge on the latest season of X Factor Italy after facing sexual assault allegations earlier this month, multiple outlets have reported. The Italian actress and singer, 42, will still appear in the first seven episodes of the show which covered the auditions, according to The Hollywood Reporter and Variety. Argento will then be replaced by a new judge when the show starts airing live on Oct. 25. The show starts airing on Sept. 6.
Allegations of sexual assault against Argento were first brought to light by a report in the New York Times, which claimed former child actor Jimmy Bennett had accused the actress of assault last fall in a letter sent to Argento and her late boyfriend Anthony Bourdain. Bennett alleged that Argento kissed him before performing oral sex on him and engaging in intercourse at the Ritz-Carlton in Marina del Rey, California when he was 17, according to the Times.

I thought Asia was already persona non grata in Italy? Wasn?t that the story, that the paparazzi and press made her life a living hell in Italy and she had to flee the country? But now it seems that she was hired to act as a judge on a popular X-Factor franchise? I?m starting to get the feeling that Asia Argento is one of those people who is always ?the victim? in all of her stories, and that her public posture of victimhood has covered up a variety of lies and crimes.
