After over 20 years working on stage and screen, Debra Messing has received a star on Hollywood’s legendary Walk of Fame on Friday. Debra, looking radiant in a vintage lacy gold dress, was honored by Will and Grace co-creator, Max Mutchnik, and her BFF, Mariska Hargitay.
Upon receiving her star (the 2,620th on the walk), Debra recalled her first visit to Hollywood with her parents, remembering “we went to Universal Studios and Grauman’s Chinese Theater. The Wizard of Oz was my favorite movie and I couldn?t believe that [I] was able to put my hand in Judy Garland?s hand print. It felt like I had touched her.” And, showcasing the humor we all know and love, she joked “I smiled all the way back to Rhode Island where my brother and I played Gilligan?s Island in the forest behind our house. I always played Ginger because I knew someday I?d be a natural redhead.”
Showing that comic chops seems to run in the family, Debra’s 13-year-old son, Roman Walker Zelman, joined his mom for a photo op that recreated Mariah Carey’s immortalized-by-meme 2015 Walk of Fame ceremony. And, in addition to Mariska, Debra’s other famous friends, Connie Britton (Rayna 4-eva) and Sophia Bush were on hand, posing for photos and sharing warm wishes on social media.
Rayna, I mean Connie (I miss her on Nashville so much), shared a group shot with the caption “What joy to see Debra Messing get her star on Hollywood Blvd today!! Always remember to never forget to dream your dreams…??.” Mariska, who is quite fond of hashtags, posted a photo with the caption, “#Congrats #GoldenBeauty #BrightLight #BrilliantStar @therealdebramessing. #ThankYou for letting me be part of this #WellDeservedHonor. You #AlwaysShowUp #AlwaysShine #GratefulForYou #SquadGoals.”

Actress Debra Messing has publicly chastised a male fan who sent her an explicit photograph via Instagram.com.
The former Will & Grace star was shocked to receive an image of a man's penis, so she censored the snap and shared it on her social media accounts warning male admirers not to send pictures of their private parts to women.
"Sending pix (pictures) like this is never OK... Respect women. Respect yourselves," she tweeted. "The picture came thru (through) my Instagram Message Requests. It was unpixelated... No woman 'invites' that kind of action... #RESPECTWOMEN."

They fell in love back in 2011 while working together on their NBC show ?Smash,? but it seems that Debra Messing and Will Chase's romance wasn?t meant to last.
According to the ?Will & Grace? actress? rep, "Debra Messing and Will Chase have ended their two-and-a-half-year relationship, but remain close friends.?
There?s no word on the cause of the breakup, though they were both fresh out of relationships when they got together.
At the time, Debra was estranged from her husband Daniel Zelman while Will had recently separated from his Broadway actress wife Stephanie Gibson.

Debra Messing walked the Tony Awards red carpet with her jumpoff (and “Smash” co-star), Will Chase (shown below), and I never thought about it until now but … “Will & Grace 2.” Debra looked like an awful mess last night in this Matthew Christopher Marchi Sobaski couture dress. Now the dress itself isn’t really the issue here but the way that Debra is wearing it. Okay, I take that back — the dress is part of the problem. I’m usually a sucker for an a-line party piece, but Debra looks altogether uncomfortable in this outfit, and the off-the-shoulder aspect isn’t helping matters. The black satin is also a bit too princessy and severe when coupled with Debra’s Croydon-facelift hairstyle.
Debra accessorized with strange Fred Leighton earrings and a girlish Judith leiber clutch. I used to enjoy Debra so much on television, and I remember when she was (fancifully) hailed as the second coming of Lucille Ball. But Lucille would have never injected her face with so many fillers and Botox variants. Oh, Debra.
Jane Krakowski looked saucy as always in a white Escada gown with plenty of sparkly sequins and a tiny faux-train. I feel like Jane wears this sort of dress all the time, but it really suits her although I think she’d look cute in spaghetti straps. Just a suggestion. This dress would have been slightly boring, but the slim belt breaks up the monotony. Janes hair and make up look lovely and appropriate for the occasion.
Martha Plimpton (and I confess to not really keeping up with her career since the late 1980s, aside from Beautiful Girls) presented last evening, and this is the most dressed up I’ve ever seen her. Martha wore a gorgeous red Lorena Sarbu crepe gown with a sheer embroidered overlay at the top. The dress’ cut is quite flattering to her figure, and her hair is still kind of 1980s, but that’s okay because I was so jealous of her for dating River Phoenix.
Cyndi Lauper looked completely zonked out, and of course she dressed like a bit of a weirdo … she’s Cyndi! Asking Cyndi to dress in a conventional manner is like expecting Florence Welch to dress up like Katy Perry. It ain’t happening. Does Cyndi look a little bit wasted to you?

Last week, we discussed the impending divorce between Debra Messing and her husband of ten years, television producer Daniel Zelman. In response, many of you brought up the Coke Mom blind items as a possible reason for the split. Of course, no one entirely knows exactly what’s going on in that regard, but there’s another complicating factor for the equation. Us Weekly has exclusively revealed that Debra is now dating fellow actor Will Chase, who is a Broadway veteran and whose IMDb profile reveals several short stints on various television programs including “Pan Am,” “Rescue Me,” and “One Life to Live.” Apparently, Debra and Will have fallen very hard for each other on the set of their upcoming show, “Smash.” Here’s a photo of Will, who I don’t think is nearly as attractive as Daniel, but what do I know?
Debra Messing is moving on.
The actress, 43, who announced exclusively to Us Weekly on Dec. 20 that she and her producer husband of 10 years Daniel Zelman had split earlier this year, has already found love again.
An insider tells Us that Messing has fallen for actor Will Chase, her costar (their characters share a romantic past!) on the NBC musical drama Smash.
“Debra and Will have been together for about six weeks,” says the insider. “She is completely smitten with him.” And while the relationship is still new, it’s already serious.
According to the source, Chase 41, has left his wife of two years, stage actress Stephanie Gibson (Chase has two tween daughters, Gracie and Daisy, from a previous marriage).
“Will didn’t break up Debra and Daniel. It was over before she met Will,” the source clarifies of Messing and Zelman, 44, who amicably share son Roman, 7, and will “continue to live together with their son, then gradually transition into a new living situation,” they explained to Us in a statement.

Last time, I expressed a wish that celebrity (or any) couples would stop referring to their splits as entirely “amicable” because even if one party isn’t all torn up about a divorce, the other most certainly carries some degree of animosity. Certainly, a ten-year marriage can’t end amicably if one party was, say, sleeping around with someone else, which would almost certainly lead to the end of the prior relationship. And if the “Coke Mom” blinds really are true, I truly hope Daniel fights for full custody of he and Debra’s son.

Kaiser and I were discussing this story in terms of residual goodwill for Debra Messing in “Will & Grace.” While that show was on the air, I recall the critical buzz of Messing described in terms of a Lucille Ball-esque comedienne. Indeed, she’s a pretty talented lady, and while we haven’t seen much of her lately, Debra has a new show coming out next February called “Smash.” At least her professional life is looking up, but it comes with a certain sadness to report that Messing and her husband, Daniel Zelman, have decided to divorce after ten years of marriage:
It’s bound to be a bittersweet holiday season for Debra Messing. After a decade together, the Will and Grace star, 43, and husband Daniel Zelman have called it quits, they tell Us Weekly in an exclusive statement.
“Debra Messing and Daniel Zelman privately separated earlier this year after a 10 year marriage,” Messing’s rep tells Us. Messing and actor/TV producer Zelman, 44, met years ago as students at New York University, married in 2000, and share a 7-year-old son, Roman.
Explains the rep of the separation: “The decision was mutual, and they remain supportive of one another and committed to raising their son as a family.”
Messing (who next stars in buzzed-about NBC series Smash, out in February), Zelman and their little boy recently relocated to NYC — and remain living under one roof, according to a source close to the pair.
“They have been separated the better part of the year but continue to live together in New York for Roman,” explains the source. “It’s very amicable.”
Just last month, Messing told LilSugar about her holiday plans in the Big Apple. “We just moved back to New York but have always had family here,” the Emmy winner said. “We love to go skating at Wolman rink, and go see plays — musicals specifically. Waiting for the snow to come. Looking forward to putting on the snowsuit and stomping through Central Park.”
To put it bluntly, this really sucks. These two have been together forever; and back in 1996, Zelman even appeared alongside Debra in a few episodes of “Will & Grace.” These days, he’s better known as a television producer and writer of “Damages.” He also wrote the screenplay for Fool’s Gold, a.k.a., “Just Another Shirtless McConaughey Movie.”. Hey, no one’s perfect.
Just once though, I’d like to see a celebrity divorce announcement that doesn’t mention how the split in question is utterly “amicable.” Divorce is never a fun thing, but I guess that I hope Debra and Daniel are different. After all, they are still allegedly living under the same roof, right?

The ?Will & Grace? actress looked to be enjoying her holiday by the sea, taking a nice long stroll while sporting a big white beach hat.
And it sounds like Debra will be joining the roster over at the ABC Network for this fall?s programming season.
Ms. Messing will be starring in ?Wright Vs. Wrong,? her first gig since 2008?s ?The Starter Wife.?

The lovely actress walked to her trailer in a tight black dress and slippers, along with the big rock from her husband Daniel Zelman.
Meanwhile, Messing will soon have new costars on ?Wright vs. Wrong,? as Carrie Fisher and Cheryl Hines have joined the show.
The series was written by MADTV?s Stephnie Weir, starring Messing as a right-wing political expert. Hines will be playing her rival as a liberal and Fisher will be her manager.
