Giving a glimpse of the intimate beachfront festivities, photos from the wedding of Shania Twain and Frederic Thiebaud on New Year's Day have been released.
Of the celebratory fete, the country singer's rep said, "They were married at sunset in Rincon, Puerto Rico, in front of 40 of their closest family and friends."
As for the details, Shania was walked down the aisle by her 9-year-old son, Eja, while clad in a dress bought at a small boutique in Switzerland paired with Lorraine Schwartz jewelry and Calvin Klein shoes.
The exchange of vows comes after Twain announced her engagement on her website last month, writing, "Love, peace and happiness is taking me in to 2011 and I'm feeling refreshed and optimistic about the future. I'm looking forward to what the new year has in store."

That was fast! Shania Twain announced her engagement to her ex-husband?s mistress?s ex-husband just a few weeks ago, and now they?re married. Shania and Frdric Thibaud got hitched on Saturday in Puerto Pico, and it looks like only TMZ got the photos (here) and a short video (here). Both the bride and the groom wore white. According to People Magazine, Shania and Frederic invited 40 family members and friends to the beach ceremony:
Shania Twain has gotten hitched! The country superstar and Frdric Thibaud got married in Puerto Rico on New Year’s Day, her rep tells PEOPLE exclusively.
“They were married at sunset in Rincon, Puerto Rico, in front of 40 of their closest family and friends,” says the rep.
The couple, who confirmed their engagement last month, became romantically involved in 2009, finding solace with each other after their spouses allegedly had an affair, breaking up both marriages.
In a letter to fans she posted on her Web site in December, Twain wrote, “In the last two and a half years of adjusting to life after separation and divorce, I needed to lean on others more often than I was accustomed to. These people have been gifts, and I am fortunate to have so many of these beautiful people ? friends, family and beloved fans, [whose] support I cherish more deeply with each day that passes.”
“Talking about love,” she continued, “I am excited to share some personal news with you; I’m in love! Frdric Nicolas Thibaud has been a true gift to me as a compassionate, understanding friend and over time, an amazing love has blossomed from this precious friendship.”

If the official story is anywhere close to the truth - that Shania?s ex-husband Mutt Lange was boning his secretary, and Mutt left Shania for the chick, while Shania consoled herself in the arms of the chick?s ex-husband, who is now Shania?s current husband, while Mutt is currently engaged to his jumpoff? well, God bless. However, I?m starting to wonder - Crazy Days and Nights has done a series of pieces about how sketchy this whole thing is, and they even wonder aloud if it was Shania who had the instigating affair.

Shania Twain has issued a letter on her website expressing her joy at becoming engaged to her ex husband’s mistress’ ex husband, as Kaiser so aptly put it. Some of you speculated in the comments that Shania potentially cheated on her husband first by hooking up with her now-fiance, who was a family friend. I followed this story closely when it came out, and am convinced that Shania’s husband, “Mutt” Lange, cheated on her with his secretary/estate manager, after which Shania and the secretary’s husband found solace in each other. In fact the National Enquirer tracked Lange down in Switzerland two years ago to get a comment on his wife’s new romance with his girlfriend’s ex husband, and he seemed genuinely surprised that those two had hooked up. (He also kind of gave Shania his blessing, the bastard.) Anyway, here’s what Shania wrote. It’s flowery and over the top, but she really seems like she’s an emotional person like that. I remember how she cried on American Idol when Big Mike sang “It Only Hurts When I’m Breathing.”

I’ve spent much time over the course of this past year, learning about others who have suffered loss in their lives and taken inspiration from how they’ve managed to overcome it. I’m learning that grief and the suffering of loss, challenges me to be more sensitive and understanding of other’s and also more accepting of my own struggles. Now another year is about to pass, and I would like to thank everyone who helped me believe that new beginnings are possible and that love can be trusted. Thank you!

So, do you think that Shania and this Fred guy just started hanging out as a big F U to their exes? There were quite a few staged paparazzi pics of them at the time that suggested that they were getting a huge kick out of it.
Also, as Kaiser reported Shania’s engagement is on the cover of the new US Weekly this week. I tend to think that Shania announced it to coincide with her new reality show, which premieres on the Oprah Network in January. I also think she’s pretty triumphant after all she went through, and I don’t blame her. It seemed clear to me that she gave People Magazine the details of her husband’s infidelity back in 2008 and now she’s all “I’m engaged, bitches.” I love how she stayed out of the spotlight for so long and then kind of edged back at a difficult and critical time in her life. She’s a survivor.

Making for joyous news ahead of the holidays, Shania Twain has announced her engagement to fiance Frederic Thiebaud.
According to Us magazine, the country star's rep confirmed the wedding plans after being questioned about a sighting of Shania wearing a brand new ring this past Thursday (December 16).
Talking about Miss Twain and her Nestle executive beau, a source close to the 45-year-old told Us, "I've never seen Shania so happy. She has ended up with the love of her life."
The report goes on to tell that the pair actually got engaged about two months ago as Thiebaud got down on one knee while on a trip to Switzerland.

She?s had a rough couple of years, but now that Shania Twain?s divorce is finalized, she couldn?t be happier.
The ?Still The One? songstress was spotted at the Swiss Red Cross Ball on May 29th, and a close friend said she?s thoroughly enjoying her relationship with Frederic Thiebaud.
Stephane Lagonico told press, "Her happiness certainly shone through. They are a great addition to each other's lives."
Another gal pal added, "They are a great addition to each other's lives. Things are really getting serious with Fred.?

Treating herself to an enjoyable evening, Shania Twain was spotted out and about in New York City last night (April 8).
The ?Man, I Feel Like a Woman? songstress looked lovely and smiled from ear to ear as she made her way around Midtown Manhattan amidst a sea of shutterbugs.
And now that she has a new show called ?Why Not? With Shania Twain? Shania says she?s finally starting to feel hopeful again after her divorce from Mutt Lange.
"I feel like in a way I'm starting over, with everything. This is a very personal experience that I think is important to share. This is an experience of recovery. I was in a very deep, dark slump, and I needed to find a way to get myself out of it. I had to force myself back out into life, back out into experiencing things."
"There were moments when I really just thought, I don't need anything and I don't need anyone. I just want to go away and disappear. So, that was a bad slump."
"One day, someone said to me, 'Do you want to go jump out of an airplane?' I felt like I had nothing to lose anymore, so I said, 'Why not?' And every day since then, I ask myself that question. There's a lot of recovery to accomplish. I'm not there yet. I'm on my way there. I'm not sure I'll ever be there."

Country star will replace Paula Abdul during Chicago auditions on August 30 and 31.By Eric Ditzian

While we now know that Jessica Simpson will not be appearing as a guest judge on "American Idol" — and the return of Paula Abdul remains a far-off, tantalizing possibility — we know for certain the identity of another of the reality competition's temp critics: country star Shania Twain.
People first reported on Monday the possibility that Twain would join Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi. Now, it's official. Twain will become the third pop luminary to appear on "Idol" following the departure of Paula Abdul. She'll take her seat at the judges' table in Chicago on August 30 and 31.
Mary J. Blige has already turned up for an appearance in Atlanta, and Victoria Beckham took on the role in Boston. Katy Perry is also set for a turn as a judge this season.
At a press conference earlier this month, Fox Entertainment Chairman Peter Rice said that "Idol" will eventually replace Abdul with a permanent fourth judge, but will use guest celebrities until the right candidate can be selected.
"What we need to find is someone who has great chemistry," Rice said. "It's really a casting job. ... There are multiple right answers and there are multiple wrong answers. Our job in the next four to five months is to really consider what makes this the most fun and the most entertaining."
Despite Rice's earlier assertions that he didn't expect Abdul to return at the last minute, TMZ reported on Monday that Abdul might in fact come back if the show acquiesces to her earlier contract demands for $10 million per season.

Shania Twain joined some friends in manhattan for Christmas shopping, bringing a few pals from Nashville with her. Most notably Frederic Thibaud, the ex-husband of Shania’s former best friend Marie-Anne, who sources say broke up her marriage to Robert “Mutt” Lange.
Twain and Thibaud were photographed arriving from Switzerland at JFK airport together.
Back in May, Twain, 43, split from her producer husband Lange, 60.
Though Lange denied having an affair to People, sources close to the situation told People that he was involved with Marie-Anne Thibaud, a close friend and manager of the couple’s chateau in Switzerland. The two couples had socialized together for years.
Twain ? who has been staying strong after the split ? came to New York City to “hang and shop,” says a source close to her. Among her group of pals is Thibaud, whom the singer has considered a friend since the days when their families were close.
Adds the source: “She loves NYC during the holidays.”

Maybe they’re both just enjoying being seen out and about with hotter, younger partners than their former cheating spouses. People’s last article with ‘insider’ information about the divorce seemed to be leaked straight from Shania, so maybe she’s just adding insult to injury. Sure, it?s a little petty, but who doesn?t sometimes like to rub in an ex?s face that you’ve moved on and up?
