We heard in early 2015 that Skinnygirl mogul Bethenny Frankel was planning to launch her own branded marijuana strain which was specifically engineered not to give users the munchies. It sounded like something she was just considering and might not follow up on, but now that recreational marijana was just legalized in four more states it might be happening. (Note that this is sourced to the new issue of USWeekly, but I read it and didn’t see this article so it’s possible that YourTango is just rehashing that older story.)
Bethenny Frankel, the creator of the Skinnygirl empire and cast member on the Real Housewives of New York, plans to launch her own line of “Skinnygirl marijuana” in Alaska, Colorado, Oregon and Washington where recreational marijuana is legal, according to a source in the newest issue of Us Weekly.
According to the source, “It will be a specially engineered strain of pot designed to not give you the munchies. She read about how profitable the cannabis industry is and wants to get in on that.”

| Bethenny Frankel on being a woman in business: 'I truly don't see gender' | Added 8 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |
|
|
|
|
|
This spring, Bethenny Frankel was a guest speaker at a conference for women entrepreneurs. Several attendees claimed that Bethenny told the women of color in the audience that they should get a white male spokesperson for their business. Bethenny denies saying this, however the company that held the conference apologized on her behalf without getting into the specifics of what was said. We know that Bethenny has complained about store employees speaking Spanish, and we know that she’s a Trump supporter (although she hasn’t weighed on his p-ssy grabbing comments), so it’s entirely believable that she would say that. That’s what came to mind when I read her latest comments about how she doesn’t see gender.
On being the only woman in a boardroom: “I truly don?t see gender. I don?t think about it. Being in a boardroom with all men and one woman doesn?t really faze [sic] me. And I think women going into business should put the question of gender out of their minds. Good ideas are heard, passion and drive and hard work are rare, no matter who you are.?
On making sacrifices for business: “Women need to have a real understanding of how much work it takes to start a business before they dive in?.Having a daughter means that if there?s a school play or if my daughter is sick, then I?m home with her. The last time my daughter was sick, I stayed home and canceled everything, and the one meeting I had was here at the house. But I?ve earned that right and flexibility because of where I am now. In the beginning, that wouldn?t have been possible.?
[From Motto.Time.com]
This reminds me of a clueless white person saying “I don’t see color.” Don’t get me wrong, I’m a clueless white person but I know that I see color and I’m trying to become more aware of that and be more open to learning instead of denying it entirely. Gender bias definitely exists, the wage gap exists, and women fight against it every day. Does she not see the problem when she’s in a boardroom and she’s the only woman? It’s like Bethenny is saying sexism doesn’t exist because she doesn’t think if affects her and she refuses to acknowledge her own bias. Also, while Bethenny may say she doesn’t see gender, she did tell women of color to get a white male spokesperson for their businesses, which would suggest she sees and notices both color and gender in her business dealings. I guess she’s talking about not putting limitations on herself by refusing to see gender, but that doesn’t seem to apply to other people.
Also, this is how she denied that incident, by saying that women have to be better than men. So if she doesn’t see gender, how does that work exactly?
Someone wanting fame vs working hard. My brand is "practical solutions for women," my mantra"be better than the men" https://t.co/jwxSUAuNhR

| Bethenny Frankel no longer has to pay ex $12k a month spousal support: fair? | Added 8 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |
|
|
|
|
|
Bethenny Frankel went through a long and contentious divorce, which she’s called “the most difficult thing you could ever go through in your entire life” because she’s incapable of sympathizing with anyone who isn’t exactly like her. It’s been three years since Bethenny started the process to divorce her ex, Jason Hoppy, longer than the three years they were married, and they’re still in court hashing out the support and property arrangements. In the latest ruling, Bethenny was relieved of having to pay Jason $12,000 a month, however Jason’s side was happy with the ruling as it declared that Bethenny wasn’t the sole owner of their condo by invalidating the trust that owned the apartment. Bethenny’s side claims this ruling is in their favor though. more on that in a moment.
Jason’s attorney, Bernard Clair, exclusively tells In Touch that the husband and wife met in appellate court, where four judges not only determined that the Real Housewives of New York star no longer has to pay temporary support to her ex, but also that rejected her argument that she was the sole owner of their Manhattan apartment just because she paid for it.
?Jason was thrilled that his wife?s argument that just because she paid for the condominium apartment, that she was therefore the sole owner was rejected. By rejecting that argument and requiring an evidentiary hearing, Jason is looking forward to his day in court,? Mr. Clair tells In Touch.
The lawyer explains the apartment is currently owned by ?no one,? because it was owned by a trust, which has since been invalidated by law.
?Of course, Jason was not so happy with the decision to deny him temporary support and agreed with the judge who would not go along with the other judges,? Mr. Clair continues.
Following the appellate decision, both parties will be able to explore their options with a hearing at civil court in the near future.
[From In Touch]
While $12,000 a month is a hefty amount, it’s based on a formula. Bethenny has a whole beverage and food empire, I’m sure she can afford it. This is speculation based on years gossiping, but if Bethenny was the husband I doubt she would get off this easily. Still, they had a prenup and that’s what was being enforced here.
Meanwhile Bethenny says she’s pleased too:
“Bethenny is particularly pleased that the trust agreement, which was used in an attempt to obtain joint ownership of an apartment that she purchased, was rendered void and invalid due to fraudulent behavior in connection with the execution of the agreement,” her attorney Allan Mayefsky tells PEOPLE in a statement. “We believe that the evidence, including evidence of the husband’s fraudulent behavior and unclean hands, will clearly demonstrate that Bethenny, who is the sole purchaser, is also the sole owner. We are also pleased the court invalidated the award of interim spousal support to Jason based on his waiver in the prenuptial agreement.”
[From People]
Then Jason’s lawyer argued that there was no fraud committed, that the ruling is good for their side, not Bethenny’s, and that Jason deserves a share of the apartment because he contributed toward renovation and maintenance. All of this legal back and forth is making my head hurt. These people are rich enough and there’s enough at stake to justifying paying hundreds of dollars an hour for lawyers to argue over their property rights. It still seems ridiculous, particularly since it’s playing out in the press.
Team no one except their daughter Brynn, five. How is their custody arrangement going? Do you think they even talk about medical issues with Brynn or coordinate for important school events? They couldn’t even agree what to feed her a couple of years ago. Bethenny was trying to raise the girl vegan but she apparently didn’t talk to her ex about that despite the fact that they share custody.

| Bethenny Frankel wears fuchsia extensions: idiotic or served its purpose? | Added 8 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Bethenny Frankel stepped out to promote SkinnyGirl candy with new fuchsia hair extensions with black roots. She knew this would get her more publicity than continuing to complain about workers speaking Spanish in stores. By the way, at least one of you mentioned the conspiracy theory that Bethenny was paid for those tweets by Donald Trump to advance his anti-immigrant agenda. It’s very possible, she gets a lot of press, but I think it’s more likely that she’s just a racist a-hole who assumes people can’t speak English when she hears them speaking Spanish. Bethenny has not issued an apology or clarification, and she doubled down on her remarks in a recent statement to US, saying “I would never be one of those celebrities that just wants to please everybody and wants to say exactly what everybody wants to hear and tiptoes around. If you want to hear my opinion, go on Instagram or Twitter and it?s there. You don?t have to agree with me.” Some of you agreed with her however I really question whether she even spoke to the workers because she tweeted that she wasn’t going to try.
Bethenny wore this her hair in this flatironed garish color and it really emphasized her Botox. She looks like a wax figure or like she’s an anime version of Raggedy Ann. The Daily Mail reports that she’s wearing “Pink Couture hair extensions by Tokyo Stylez” and a jumpsuit by Mugler that retails for $2,630. She made an appearance at Dylan’s Candy store in Manhattan yesterday to promote the line. Here’s some of what she told People about the candy:
?I think I saw a void [in the market],? Frankel tells PEOPLE of her latest venture. ?Every woman I know has a sweet tooth and most women I know have PMS or they get emotional and they want chocolate [?] It?s low calorie and they?re delicious; people are obsessed with them. And I don?t think there?s really anything else out there like that ? especially with such quality. There?s a lot of chocolate, but it feels like junk food.?
The new product line includes chocolate truffles, chocolate bars, chocolate-covered almonds, and gummies ? each coming in pre-portioned packages at 100 calories each ? as well as three flavors of mints (which have zero calories per serving).
?Portion control is huge,? Frankel says. ?I don?t believe in fake; I believe in good quality ingredients. I?d rather have less of something really good than a lot of something fake. I think those little portioned packets are just very female.?
[From People]
In terms of SkinnyGirl “candy,” I don’t see the need for “diet” candy. If you want to eat candy and you’re on a diet, go ahead. Just fit it into your calories for the day. There are no “good” or “bad” candies/calories, just make sure you get your protein and nutrients and leave enough room for snacks. My favorites are the little individually wrapped Ghirardelli chocolate caramel squares at just 70 calories. There are also other individually wrapped mini chocolates available from Dove, Lindt and Ritter. It bugs me that SkinnyGirl also puts out sh*tty wine and mixed drinks when similar products are already available which are much tastier. Just measure it out and it’s a damn diet food. It’s all branding.

Real Housewives of New York villain Bethenny Frankel has drawn ire for what some people are calling racist comments complaining about KMart store workers who were speaking Spanish. She claimed they spoke “no English whatsoever” but I question whether she even tried to speak with them to ask about an item she wanted to buy. Here are some of her tweets on this in the order she made them.
Well she has already said she agrees with Trump.
Twitter users responded by telling Bethenny to stop being racist.
@Bethenny just threw my skinny girl products out. You lost a customer. I will not support racist snobs.

It?s no secret that she?s struggled to find a healthy romantic relationship, but that?s not stopping Bethenny Frankel from getting back on the horse.
Per an E! News report, the ?Real Housewives of New York? star?s latest stallion is none other than the lovable ?Modern Family? actor Eric Stonestreet, and they?ve actually been dating for a few months.
And while Ms. Frankel hasn?t come right out and declared her love for Stonestreet, she did recently tweet, "I'm very happy right now. It took me a minute but I'm here. Xo? I've really changed my mind on something: i think if u have a great textual banter, compatibility is likely." An insider told E!, ?Eric is very different from his character on Modern Family. He's sharp and funny, but his humor is darker. He has an incredible relationship with his parents, especially his mom. He is very proud of his mid-western roots."

|
Above and below are the latest photos of Bethenny Frankel at the beach in Miami. They’re from this weekend and last week. We seem to get new photos of her in a bikini once a month, or roughly corresponding with her promotional schedule. Bethenny was a guest on The Today Show yesterday. She’s one of many celebrities promoting books out this spring, and hers is a self-help tome called I Suck at Relationships So You Don’t Have To: 10 Rules for Not Screwing Up Your Happily Ever After. A woman involved in a contentious, public divorce who has short, high profile flings with younger men has published a relationship book. Radar has some salacious details from the book, which include Bethenny’s tips for self pleasuring. It’s TMI but that’s her thing, and she’s not wrong.
In her Today Show interview, Bethenny explained that she wrote a relationship book because she “learned more from my mistakes than from my successes.” She also claimed “I can still give advice on something that I’ve made a lot of mistakes in” and added “do as I say not as I’ve done.” I guess celebrities can do just about anything regardless of whether they have a clue about it or not.
She says she has a gift for writing
I do feel that, when I’m going through something, I write. It’s kind of like it pours out of me… so now I’m going through something, if I can help people and talk about what I’m going through and express it, which I do think that I have a gift for, I think it’s great. And I really do love this book so much and all of the practical advice in it.
Claims she was offered Shark Tank, Cinderella and DWTS
People say that because of the failure of my talk show I had to come back [to RHONY]. I was offered Shark Tank and Dancing With the Stars and Cinderella, but I wanted to go home again. I really never thought I’d go back. It had gotten to a point where I didn’t enjoy it anymore. Now I’m so glad that I waited, because I’m really enjoying it. I respect the women, I respect what everyone’s going through… Some of [the women] I’ve known for so many years and it feels like I’m going back to high school.
On criticism of her weight
People do comment a lot. I do say ‘yeah, I am thin.’ I mean, I have a brand called Skinnygirl, so it’s not a big giant mystery. You can’t please everybody. You try to please everybody, you end up pleasing nobody. Sometimes I do agree that I look too thin, especially when I’m tired, especially when I’m haggard. I do eat. There are nutritionists that comment that I don’t even weigh a hundred pounds. I weigh 115 pounds. I’ll be happy to get on the Today show scale.
“People don’t talk about people that are overweight”
People don’t talk about people that are overweight. If someone thought you were overweight imagine being like ‘wow, that person looks really overweight’ and keep talking about it, that wouldn’t be nice. But that’s not something I’m going to complain about.
[From The Today Show via US Weekly]
People do talk about celebrities who are overweight. Look at the idiots who are bashing Kelly Clarkson after she had a baby. As far as Bethenny’s weight, she is 5’7? tall, so at 115 pounds her Body Mass Index is 18, which is under the 18.5 cutoff for being in the normal weight range. She is technically underweight. I know that the BMI guidelines are inadequate for measuring lean body mass, etc, but if anything they err on the side of labeling very fit, muscular people overweight. As for Bethenny’s argument that she runs a company called “Skinny Girl,” she’s used that one before. Plus she’s written a diet book, she constantly stages bikini photo ops, she’s posed in her daughter’s clothing on social media, and she’s compared herself to a skeleton. She wants the validation that comes with people calling her skinny.
Oh and I watch Shark Tank. I doubt Bethenny has the business skill or the capital to be on the investors panel.

Spoilers for the ending of Weeds follow
At the end of Weeds the lead character Nancy, played by Mary Louise Parker, is running a series of pot coffee shops, similar to Starbucks but with marijuana on the menu. The show, which ended in 2012, jumped forward to an unspecified point in the future when marijuana was legalized. That’s what came to mind when I heard that Skinnygirl founder Bethenny Frankel is going to sell pot in the four states where recreational use is legalized. She’s come up with the idea to market a strain of marijuana that doesn’t make people get the munchies. Add some appetite suppressant in there and she won’t be able to keep it in stock.
Bethenny Frankel?s Skinnygirl empire will soon be capable of supplying customers with the chillest night ever. The Real Housewives of New York City star plans to launch her own line of ?Skinnygirl marijuana” in Alaska, Colorado, Oregon, and Washington, where recreational cannabis is legal, sources reveal exclusively in the new issue of Us Weekly.
?It will be a specially engineered strain of pot designed to not give you the munchies,? an insider close to the Skinnygirl cocktails creator, 44, tells Us. ?She read about how profitable the cannabis industry is and wants to get in on that.?
[From US Weekly]
Bethenny is just the first celebrity to jump on the pot bandwagon. I expect to soon see Goop branded artisanal marijuana hand picked by Guatemalan children. It gives you the feeling that you’re superior in every way and that you achieved it all on your own without any help. (Credit to Kaiser for helping me with that joke.)
Of course Bethenny’s first concern would be that she doesn’t eat more than the 800 calories a day she usually consumes. It’s true that lot of people hate the way they mindlessly eat when they’re stoned. Bethenny’s drink brands have been called watery so it’s not like her pot is going to be excellent, though. She’s using her brand to sell to women in an up and coming market. It’s smart, but it doesn’t mean she’s going to produce quality product. (Not that I would know. I wouldn’t!)

| Bethenny Frankel: what if 'I was overweight & had a brand called Skinnygirl' | Added 9 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

|
Bethenny Frankel has been critiqued in the press and on social media for the fact that she’s very thin. This criticism hasn’t come out of the blue; Bethenny poses for the paparazzi in her bikini regularly and posts bikini pics on social media. She also tweeted a photo of herself last year wearing her four year-old daughter Bryn’s pajamas. There are plenty of other very thin celebrities but they aren’t courting controversy like Bethenny.
In an appearance on Meredith Vieira’s talkshow, Bethenny sort-of addressed criticism over her tiny frame. She deflected the question and then acted like it was ridiculous.
Later, Frankel took the opportunity to address the rumors surrounding her slim figure.
After photos surfaced of the reality star looking thinner than usual in a bikini, some fans sounded the alarm, calling the Skinnygirl founder ?too skinny? and ?unhealthy.?
But Frankel wouldn?t have any of that nonsense. ?I was sick over the holidays,? she shared with Vieira. ?I don?t know, do I look bad? Do I look like I need to eat a burger??
The star added, ?I don?t know. I feel like, ?Who cares?? They are always going to say something. I do have a brand called Skinnygirl, so I am going to get beaten up for it. It would be bad if I were overweight and had a brand called Skinnygirl, could you imagine??
[From Radar Online]
Years ago I read an excellent book by the late Carl Sagan called The Demon Haunted World. To encourage people to critically evaluate information, Sagan outlines common logical fallacies. One rhetorical fallacy is the argument of “excluded middle or false dichotomy.” He describes it as “considering only the two extremes in a continuum of intermediate possibilities.” So, in Bethenny’s mind she’s either the way she is or she’s overweight, never considering that she could gain weight and still be healthy. I’m not knocking her size, I’m just pointing out that she’s making a poor argument. Plus she uses another common fallacy, the “argument from adverse consequences.” If she was overweight, which is her only other option, then her brand would suffer.
This isn’t that important. Bethenny isn’t arguing against climate change, she’s just a reality star defending her right to be tiny and demonstrative. It just struck me that Bethenny never acknowledged that some people see her as underweight and she didn’t really address the issue, she just made a couple of flawed arguments, suggesting no one should even bring it up.
Radar also claims that Bethenny is having problems on the set of Real Housewives of NY, which she returned to following the cancellation of her talkshow. Bethenny isn’t arguing and fighting with the other castmembers as expected, and she refuses to discuss her failed marriage. A source tells Radar “Whenever her marriage is discussed, Bethenny walks off the set.” Bethenny needs to play the game if she’s going to be on the show. Conflict is their bread and butter. Not that Bethenny touches either.
