President Musk and Sideshow Don have enacted the most eventful first month of a term, in all the worst ways possible. Thankfully, the American people are finding a myriad of ways to fight back. Some are suing. Some are publicly selling off their Teslas. And of course, some are dancing. Octavia Spencer is getting ready to bake. (Fair warning: from here on out you may want to ensure you?re at least one hour away from beginning or having finished a meal.) In 2012, Octavia won a Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her scene-stealing performance as Minny Jackson in The Help. In arguably the most volatile depiction of dessert-as-revenge ever put on screen, Octavia?s character, a maid, bakes a pie for her racist former employer, with a special secret ingredient? poop. Well, 13 years later and Octavia recognizes a new cast of villains who deserve the pie treatment: all DOGE employees. She announced the impromptu bake sale Tuesday on Instagram. D?ya hear that, Nazi Youths? Free food!
?Bake sale for Washington to ALL DOGE employees and supporters,? she wrote. ?I need good vanilla from MEXICO and some CANADIAN maple syrup. #limitedEdition pies: Corn and chocolate. Need lots of donations for the ?special ingredient.??
?Eat looooooooots of corn,? Spencer continued. ?one time sale.?
The actor, who won an Oscar for her performance in the film, thus confirmed being among those who are outraged at Musk, whose government advisory group has been dismantling federal agencies in a purported effort to slash public spending and root out corruption.
DOGE is reportedly also seeking access to sensitive taxpayer information under the tech mogul?s dubious watch, while President Donald Trump is eyeing steep import tariffs on Mexico and Canada ? all of which Spencer seemed to protest in Monday?s caption.
The post has already garnered 70,000 likes and supportive comments from fellow actors, including Taraji P. Henson, ?Help? co-star Viola Davis and ?Little House on the Prairie? actor Melissa Gilbert ? who recently had her own tiff with a well-known Republican figure.
?Lmaooooooooooo. Make sure not to forget THEE most expensive ingredient,? wrote Henson before leaving several poop emojis, while Davis contributed laughing emojis and one heart after commenting ?Waaaaaahhhh!!!!!! Lol!!!! PERFECT!!!!?
?The Help? was based on a 2009 book of the same name by Kathryn Stockett. Set against the backdrop of the Civil Rights Movement in Jackson, Mississippi, the period piece centers on African American maids who?ve spent their entire lives working for white families.
Spencer?s character delivers the pie to her former boss after being unjustly fired, making her post all the more apt in targeting an administration responsible for mass layoffs. On Monday, Trump began firing hundreds of Federal Aviation Administration employees.
The president has also moved to eradicate federal diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives and make Musk a ?special government employee? ? who has since hired numerous 20-something DOGE staffers ? after the tech billionaire spent $250 million to help reelect him.

So many pies, indeed! We?re gonna need a bigger oven. Now I?m actually hoping that bigoted kid who resigned did get his job back, cause he?s sure earned himself a slice of sh-t pie. Well done, Octavia. She was the only one who could play this particular card, and she served it up with aplomb. What really upped the decadence factor, in my opinion, was the effortless way she folded in the Mexican vanilla and Canadian maple syrup barbs. (If only those countries had an irreplaceable ingredient needed to make Diet Coke, then Trump would drop all the tariff nonsense faster than you can say ?aspartame.?) A big pastry chef?s kiss to Octavia. I hope her #MinnyJacksonCallToAction tag takes off! And this isn?t a one off, half-baked idea from Octavia, either. Her Instagram is chock full of calls to action and valuable info on what Democrats and Republicans are doing for and against us each day. Plus a necessary helping of humor posts sprinkled in as well. My favorite? One that reads, ?I just turned off the news and put on a serial killer documentary to relax.? But enough venting; time to start preheating.

I know no one cares about Melissa Gilbert’s engagement, but I do – sort of. After Melissa appeared on Dancing With The Stars last year looking noticeably altered (and after her somewhat juicy tell-all memoir) she started attracting tabloid attention, and Melissa’s life was interesting! It’s just that it was Melissa Gilbert, so the stories didn’t get much mileage.
Last year, Melissa was dating a French dude was was only out for her fame and money, according to the Enquirer. The Enquirer ran several stories about Melissa, 48, and her 42 year-old lover, a vintage car salesman whom she met in late 2011 and dated until around November of last year. The gist was that the guy was using Melissa for her money and fame, and dumped her when he figured out she wasn’t as rich as he assumed. I believe this was Melissa’s first big romance following her split with second husband Bruce Boxleitner, in March, 2011. The thing is, Melissa just split with the French guy in November, and now she’s engaged to someone else a couple of months later. I used to watch “Little House on the Prairie” when I was a kid in the 80s, but it wasn’t like it was my favorite show or anything. As I keep explaining to my kid, we didn’t get a VCR until I was in eighth grade (around the time everyone else got one) and we had to watch whatever was on and then go do something else during the commercials. The horror, right? Get off my lawn. (I also hate the new gmail format, and the new Facebook format, which means I’m getting old according to my mom.)
I remember Little House somewhat, and how it jumped the shark when Mary went blind and various little kids came to visit and wreaked havoc. (I just spent way too much time looking up information about old LHOP episodes.) Laura Ingalls was the lead character and narrator, and Melissa Gilbert, 47, is best known for that role. She was so young and of course fresh faced in that show, and it looks like she’s been to the surgeon a few too many times to try and recapture her youth. Melissa is currently on Dancing with the Stars, and Radar has quotes from a surgeon who says she’s had some noticeable recent work:
Not only has the former Little House On The Prairie star been spending long hours rehearsing with dance partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy, she?s also fitted in time to see her plastic surgeon, thinks celebrity plastic surgeon Dr. Anthony Youn, who has not treated the actress.
?Her face is surprisingly wrinkle-free for a woman her age. I suspect that she’s had some Botox to her forehead and crows feet, effectively smoothing them out,? he exclusively told Radar.
?She may also have had some filler injections like Restylane to the deep creases of her lower face as well. Overall her face looks longer than before, a likely combination of aging and some plastic surgery.?
Having divorced from husband Bruce Boxleitner last August after 16 years of marriage, it is understandable that Melissa would want a nip, tuck and needle-prick to feel young again now that she?s back on the market, but Dr. Youn warns that the injectables are only a temporary fix.
?Unless her face gets a Botox recharge, I bet we will see more wrinkles return over the next several months as it wears off,? he told Radar.

I think it’s true that Melissa Gilbert had a lot of work done, and that she went overboard somewhat. She’s looked like this for a while though, and people are only noticing now because she’s on DWTS. I see new lips, a new nose, and Botox. As they say in the south, bless her, you know? She wanted to look better and it didn’t really work out that way. I understand the urge to get something done and I’m feeling it now, but I see examples every day of what I should hold off. That’s about all I’ll say about that.
Here’s Melissa’s first dance. She’ll probably stay on a little longer, but unless she improves significantly she’s not going to make it to the end. There was some stiff competition.

Last week Star Magazine ran a story about Shannen Doherty’s history of dating taken men and breaking up their marriage. Doherty’s latest boyfriend, a photographer she met during a photoshoot last summer, was married when he hooked up with her. The guy’s mother-in-law told Star “Shannen broke up a marriage and that’s all I’m going to say!”
Shannen also broke up “Nip/Tuck” hottie and her “Charmed” co-star Julian McMahon’s marriage to Brooke Burns with a much-talked about affair in 2001. McMahon and Burns had a one year-old daughter at the time.
Now there are allegations that Doherty helped hasten the end of her former “Little House on The Prairie” co-star Melissa Gilbert’s first marriage to Bo Brinkman. Gilbert has a new memoir coming out called
Prairie Tale, and Star Magazine has advance details that Gilbert dishes on Brinkman’s one night stand with Shannen. The sad part that Star fails to mention is that Shannen was a teenager when she slept with Brinkman and may not have even been of legal age. It’s hard to tell with the vague timeline they’re giving, but she wasn’t 20 yet. Gilbert claims that Doherty seduced her husband because she looked up to her and wanted to be like her:
Shannen was just 11 when she was cast as Melissa’s niece Jenny for Little House’s final season. She immediately glommed onto Melissa, the show’s biggest star, according to the insider.
“Melissa tells of how Shannen was in awe of her. She’d follow her all around the set and even gushed how she wanted to be like her when she grew up.”
Five years after the show ended, Melissa married Bo - Dennis Quaid’s cousin - following a whirlwind eight-week romance…
But the marriage was soon in trouble and it was during a counseling session that Bo admitted he’d slept with Shannen, says the publishing insider.
“Melissa implies in the book that it was Shannen who sought Bo out, purely because she wanted to be like Melissa,” the insider says.
Just as the marriage was falling apart, Melissa bumped into Shannen - who was then only 20 - at an awards ceremony and told her she knew of the secret night of passion with her husband.
“Melissa writes that Shannen just looked her straight in the eye, smirked and made a snide comment.”

Melissa was married to Bo Brinkman from 1988 to 1992. Shannen was 17 in 1988, so she wasn’t of legal age until the next year. Even if she sought out Gilbert’s husband he has no excuse for taking the bait, especially from a barely-legal teenage girl! This sadly became a pattern for Doherty, though, and now she’s taken up with yet another married man.
Gilbert has sort-of admitted that she makes this claim in her book. She just found out yesterday that the news was out about the big bombshell in her book. Here’s the timeline from her official twitter account.
