As one of the thousands of attendees at the 2010 Women?s Conference in Long Beach, California, Jessica Simpson spoke with press about her insecurities and how she manages to stay upbeat.
The ?Come On Over? singer explained to USA Today, "There's no way you're not going to be affected by the ugly things people say about you. It's very hurtful. It definitely brings up a lot of your own insecurities."
But, with a little help, Jess is able to be positive. "It takes a great family and wonderful friends ? and love definitely helps, too ? to get through it," she says.
Speaking about her current beau Eric Johnson, Ms Simpson gushed, "He definitely makes me happy and makes me very comfortable being who I am. It's nice to be with somebody who praises you for all the right reasons."

Having flown out east the previous day, Reese Witherspoon enjoyed an afternoon of sightseeing in New York City on Tuesday (October 26).
Clad in a floral print blouse, dark jeans and knee high boots, the "Four Christmases" cutie was all smiles as she ventured into The Guggenheim Museum to check out the modern and contemporary international art offerings.
The trip to the Big Apple comes just as reports claim that Reese's ex, Jake Gyllenhaal, has been gallivanting around NYC with country superstar Taylor Swift.
After hitting up the "Saturday Night Live" taping together over the weekend, an Us magazine source tells that Jake and Taylor also visited Fishkill Farms for an apple-picking festival.
A local tells, "They were walking through the trees, having fun together. They looked happy."
Another witness added, "Some of the customers tried to take a photo of them, but they were hiding from them in the trees. They drove through the orchard and bought the apples on the way out."

As indicated almost immediately following her recent road woes, Eva Longoria has been sued as a result of her recent Los Angeles car accident.
According to court filings, Roman Gasparyan alleges that a sudden turn by the "Desperate Housewives" star led to the crash - which has left him with both mental and physical suffering.
Trying to get a payoff, Gasparyan also says that he has a witness willing to testify that Eva's eyes were "bloodshot" - though Miss Longoria has responded by naming Roman as the party at fault.
Also named in the lawsuit, is Eva's basketball star husband, Tony Parker, who happens to be the owner of the BMW being driven by his actress wife.

Over the weekend, Halle Berry brought Olivier Martinez out for their first red carpet walk, proving that they aren?t just doing it dirty, that there are emotions involved. Some of you noticed Halle?s spiky hair, and hated it. Personally, I love when Halle does the spiky hair thing, and she?s done it for many red carpet. Very few women can really pull off that short hair style, and among those women, very few can pull off the spiky, punked-out style. Halle is one of them. Anyway, these are new photos of an Olivier-less Halle last night at the Hollywood Awards (or whatever, I barely care). Halle didn?t do the spiky thing, I think her hair sucks. She looks so? un-jazzy. Blech. I don?t like the dress either. It seems like someone bedazzled an old, oversized, comfortable sweatshirt. However, she’s still Halle Berry, and haters can suck it, I suppose.

I completely missed these new photos of Demi Moore at last night?s event for Glamour Magazine?s ?Reel Moments?. Glamour gets a series of female celebrities to direct short films based on stories submitted to the magazine - and Demi, Eva Mendes and Jessica Biel were in attendance last night. Biel continued her theme of not being allowed to walk any red carpet with Justin Timberlake - JT didn?t even show up for the event, but allegedly he checked in for the after-party. Biel was in Oscar de la Renta, by the way. Too fussy for her features, right? And that hair is wrong for the dress. It looks like a horse swathed in lace.
Demi was flying solo as well. No Ashton! Wonder where he was, hm? But Demi did make sure that she showed the world how HOT she is. Because everyone loves to see a 48 year old woman who thinks showing her bra is ?cool?. Demi is SO HIP! So stylish. The blouse is Balmain, by the way. And don?t even get me started on the pleather leggings. Ugh. As Lainey points out, Demi is trying to send the message: I?m so hot, so of course my marriage is fine. But Kim Kardashian seemed surprised with the sudden mob of people who were waiting for her as she left her hotel this morning – and her sexy skin-tight leather trousers might of been to blame.
The reality star, who recently turned 30, left the Smyth hotel in New York with her friend, singer Ciara, to head for a spot of lunch just down the street but got followed by a huge group of fans and onlookers.
As they walked the few blocks to the restaurant many people followed the two and tried to snap pictures and video.
Luckily for the ladies most of the admirers were young men.

Miss Swift looked to be in great spirits as she took the stage with her silver sparkle Taylor guitar while churning out a stirring rendition of her new song "Mine".
Meanwhile, in a recent interview, Taylor shared that she?s not comparing Speak Now to her last album Fearless.
The ?Innocent? songstress explained, "Well, being a natural over-thinker and over-analyzer of life in general, I've kind of thought about all of that and, of course, the questions are always, 'How are you possibly going to top Fearless?' And, you know, the only thing that I can possibly do in life is live life, take it as it comes at me. Try to process it the best way I can and make music that I'm proud of."
Taylor continued, "I look back on Fearless and I'm proud of it. I mean, that album is a beautiful collection of memories from when I was 16, 17 and 18. And I appreciate everything I was able to do with that album and everything that was awarded to that album. I'm never going to have the unfair mind-set that I'm competing with my past work because it's just not fair to do that to yourself."
"I've experienced everything you can possibly experience while writing this album. I really, really pushed myself in making this album, so not everything flows out perfectly. Sometimes you have to really search your mind."

Last night was the premiere of For Colored Girls, the Tyler Perry film based on the ground-breaking play. This is how Ms. Janet Jackson showed up - in this strange red and black pantsuit number that I have mixed feelings about. If I could see this as just the pants and the weird wrap top, I think I would have loved it. But with the added jacket and the strange skirt? it?s just too much. BUT - Janet still kind of rocks it. Hmpf. Anyway, Janet?s date last night was not her Qatari boyfriend Wissam al Mana! She took her nephew instead, although Janet did confirm that she and Wissam are still together, though not engaged:

Even if they were engaged, I doubt we would know about it. Janet plays everything so tight, bless her heart. And while I don?t love the outfit, I will say that Janet is looking really good lately - I like her transition to dramatic actress, and her association with Tyler Perry. They seem to be genuinely tight, and this may be Janet?s year for an Oscar nomination. You never know.

The ?Papa Don?t Preach? songstress is opening a chain of gyms to be called Hard Candy Fitness, and her first location is set to launch next month.
Madge will start in a posh Mexico City neighborhood on November 29th, with many more to follow shortly thereafter.
Hard Candy Fitness stated they ?will open in major cities around the world,? including spots in Russia, Brazil, Argentina, Europe, and Asia.

So? last night, Julianne Moore attended the London premiere of The Kids Are Alright. She wore this Fugness That Destroys Souls to the red carpet. I don?t even have words to describe this mess.
How would you even think for one moment that this Lanvin tragedy looks good? Or is that the point? Maybe Julianne is part of some dare, or some wager to see who can wear the ugliest dress? But who is she competing with?
You know what I thought when I first saw the photos? I thought Julianne was wearing a coat, but only halfway, like it was the new style. Then I saw that cheap looking belt. Then I saw that it was all one piece. Lanvin needs to go back to the drawing board.

The insider says that the couple are over the moon about their impending arrival but ?they haven?t decided whether they?ll raise the baby in New York or Los Angeles.? They are currently living in Nick?s LA home while renovations are being done on the former Bel Air home of Farrah Fawcett that Mariah bought last year for $7 million. The 11,750 square feet home has five bedrooms ? plenty of room for a nursery and a giant closet for Mariah!
Mariah took fertility drugs to get pregnant, according to the insider, who says, ?the fertility drugs were the reason for her weight gain earlier this year.? She has also given up drinking alcohol ? ?she stopped drinking back in March or April this year,? the source says.
While we would have loved to see the Hello Kitty wardrobe that Mariah?s daughter would wear, we?re excited that she?s expecting a little boy ? and can?t wait to see her little lamb! Congrats, Mariah and Nick!

Okay, I?m chuckling a little bit. Because everyone was talking about A) Mariah?s weight gain and B) How she showed up drunk to several events during the awards season. Of course, the awards season was over in the beginning of March? so it?s possible that Mariah was living it up and drinking champagne at all of those events as her last baby-less hurrah. Totally possible. And I do buy that Mariah gained weight because of fertility treatments - and I have no judgement about it either. I just hope Mariah and the baby are healthy and happy. Congratulations Mariah! I hope you announce it on Oprah, just because that would be so much fun! Oprah will FREAK OUT.

Having acted in multiple movies produced and released after her performance as a runaway turned stripper, Kristen Stewart is in the unique position of watching her early work in "Welcome to the Rileys" released on the big screen this Friday (October 29).
Asked by MTV about her thoughts on her progression as an actress from the movie's 2008 filming to the current time, the humble "Twilight" beauty replied, "I don't know, man. I really don't know."
After further prying, Miss Stewart finally was willing to offer up a few thoughts - telling that she still has her minor issues while also seeing improvement in each and every film.
"I could sit here and bring up little things that I wish I didn't [do], little things that kill me, stuff that maybe other people don't see but stuff that is very apparent to me," she told MTV.
As for the filming of "Welcome to the Rileys," K-Stew said, "It was so everything that it should be. If I did bring my little things to it, we did share a few personality aspects. I think that's maybe why I was hired. It was a stretch, because obviously I live nothing like she lives, but it's always really hard to say why you've progressed as an actor. I feel like I've gotten better with every movie."

After spending the afternoon out to lunch with gal pal Ciara, Kim Kardashian joined up with ex bodyguard pal Shengo Deane for a night out in Midtown Manhattan on Monday (October 25).
The E! reality star showed Shengo - whom she shared a kiss with on the past season of "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" - the sights around the city with security extra-tight for the "Kim and Kourtney Take Miami" filming efforts.
During the course of the evening, the pair made their way over to the Empire State Building, with Mr Deane being ever-the-gentleman as he opened the door for Miss Kardashian as they arrived.
Once finished up with the sightseeing trip, Shengo tried to stay behind Kim as they were photographed heading out for the rest of the evening's agenda.
On a side note, Kim made an announcement about an upcoming appearance on her Twitter account today, excitedly writing, "GUESS WHAT?! I'll be a special guest host at Z100's Jingle Ball at Madison Square Garden on Dec 10th in NYC!"
