| Gisele Bundchen: 'The big nose is coming with a big personality' | Added 7 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Gisele Bundchen has been uncharacteristically chatty over the past year because she?s been promoting two coffee table books, full of images from her career. The first book came out last year, and it sold out of its limited-edition printing quickly. The second book, out now, is a more reasonable $44 (on Amazon) and 536 pages. All about Gisele. So, to promote the latest coffee table book, Gisele chatted with the New York Times about her career, her life, her drive to succeed and more. You can read the full piece here. Some highlights:
She was never the pretty model: ?My career was never based on pretty.?
Angela Missoni says Mario Testino used to hate Gisele?s nose: ?Mario wasn?t 100 percent sure about her. He was worried about her nose.?
She was bullied: ?Even before I got into the business, I was used to being bullied because I was always tall and skinny and stuck out. I got really red all the time from playing volleyball, red like a pepper. So I thought bullying was just the way life is. In the beginning, you know, everyone told me, ?Your eyes are too small, the nose is too big, you can never be on a magazine cover.? But, you know what? The big nose is coming with a big personality.?
She always focused on being hard-working: ?I always knew that, even if I was not the most beautiful girl, I?d be the most energetic and hard-working. If you want to know the truth, that?s the reason for my success? I?m a twin, I?m a Cancer, I?m always taking care of other people. I?ve always been the fixer in the family, the responsible one. I?ve always been a hard worker, never late for a job in my life. Really, ask anyone.?
Her youthful goals: ?Modeling was the farthest thing from what I ever thought I would do with my life. From the beginning, looks did not define me in any way. I have a different idea of what I am. I wanted to be Jane Goodall. In my mind, I?m still Jane Goodall in bare feet.?
She?s irritated by fame: ?To me, the idea of being famous is irritating. The attention is strange. Everyone has an opinion? It can overwhelm you when people attack you or make comments. But when people are saying those things, the haters, I try not to let it in. Given what is, I tell myself, what am I to do??
[From The New York Times]
At several points during the interview, Gisele makes reference to loving the way she looks as-is, that she would never succumb to plastic surgery to ?correct? whatever problem areas she has, or is perceived to have. Except that we know that?s bullsh-t, right? Because last year she wore a burqa as she entered her French plastic surgeon?s office, and reportedly underwent breast augmentation and eye work. Not to mention the fact that I?ve always believed she did have some work over the years, before her plastic surgery visit was ?outed? last year. While she didn?t get a nose job (or did she?), she?s been surgically tweaked. While that?s something a lot of women and a lot of models do, it?s ?off brand? for what Gisele is selling, which is that she?s this healthy, all-natural person who got ahead in this world with hard work rather than a surgeon?s scalpel.

| Charlize Theron & Sean Penn were 'like watching ice in a freezer' in Cannes | Added 7 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Before we get to Charlize Theron and Sean Penn being awkward, glum and ham-faced (he was ham-faced, she was glum), take a moment to enjoy Charlize?s spectacular Dior tuxedo at Friday night?s premiere of The Last Face. This is one of the best lady?s tuxedos I?ve ever seen! She looks so sexy with the deep-V of the blouse and the diamonds. Amazing!
As for the glumness and the hamface, it was pretty bad. The photocall earlier in the day was ? by ALL accounts ? awkward as hell. Charlize and Sean didn?t interact at all, and they kept at least two people in between them at all times. As People Mag points out, the discomfort didn?t end at the photocall ? they had to sit down for the press conference too, and it was just awful. Of course, the film was utterly savaged by critics too, so that didn?t help.
After ending their two-year relationship almost a year ago, exes Charlize Theron and Sean Penn avoided one another while doing press in Cannes for their new movie The Last Face.
“There was no contact between them,” a source tells PEOPLE. “Not a thing. Really, like they’d never met.?
Theron, 40, hit the carpet first, smiling in a knee-length Pink scalloped dress with matching belt. She accessorized the look with black strappy heels and bright red lips. The two never interacted directly during the press event.
“There was always someone in between them ? at least one person. It was like they were on two separate orbits,” a source explained. The distance remained at the film’s press conference ? with three actors sitting between Theron and Penn. The two did not acknowledge each other while speaking to reporters.
“[Penn] had on a poker face, and stared straight ahead when [Theron] spoke,” a source said. Theron, meanwhile, looked around when Penn spoke.
“Sort of like watching ice in a freezer,” added the source.

“Sort of like watching ice in a freezer? is how I would describe most of what Charlize does, for better or for worse. Like, she?s great when she?s playing ice queens and bitches, but it does seem like typecasting because chica has no warmth. Then again, we have no idea what really did go down between them around this time last year. We only know that it was over suddenly and she was completely done. She iced him out. She ghosted him!
Now, they did manage to interact a little bit at the premiere later on the day. Sean came to the premiere with his kids, Dylan and Hopper. Hopper interacted with Charlize while Dylan posed with Sean. For all of Sean?s many faults, I think he was smart to bring his kids as his dates. It was a better call than if Sean had arrived with a bevy of blondes on his arms, you know? And so Charlize rewarded him with some brief contact once they posed separately on the carpet. Once they were up the steps, she went up to Sean and they had a brief embrace and kissed each other?s cheeks. It was still awkward as hell, but better. Charlize does have a look on her face like she just got a whiff of rancid ham though. Once you go ham, you can always go back.
