People who can wear lots of jewelry while working out are INSANE to me. I could never wear any kind of rings or earrings to the gym. Jennifer Lopez doesn?t feel the same way on Friday, she was seen exiting a Miami gym with Alex Rodriquez, after a workout where she wore her gigantic new engagement ring (and big hoop earrings, I can?t). I also can?t believe her body at this point she?s 49 years old! She?s going to be 50 in July! My ass has never looked that good, not even when I was 18. Anyway, I?m talking about these photos because Page Six did a weirdly exhaustive story about The Love Story of J-Rod and what they?re really like as a couple, and the piece has tons of quotes from a ?J-Rod friend? and ?sources close to A-Rod.? Some highlights:
Don?t mess around on J.Lo: When Alex Rodriguez first started dating Jennifer Lopez, a longtime friend told him: ?Whatever you do, you cannot mess her around.? The A-Rod friend explained to The Post, ?I said, ?This lady is like American royalty. Whatever happens, you cannot treat her badly. If you split up for any reason, she has to be the one to dump your ass!? It?s a lot of pressure on someone to date Jennifer Lopez! But they both fell in love.?
Alex planned his proposal in secret: According to friends, Rodriguez, 43, told no one of his plans to propose, searching for the perfect ring for several months and dealing with a jewelry designer abroad in secret.
Jennifer follows him to work: ?They?re so respectful to each other,? said a source who has worked with Rodriguez. ?When Alex is working for ESPN [calling baseball games], Jennifer goes ? and sits quietly in the booth because she likes to watch him. They have that kind of relationship. Likewise, when she was doing her [concert residency] in Vegas, he would fly in. He was at almost every show. The support level is incredible.?
On Jose Canseco?s accusations of Alex?s infidelity: ?When you get engaged and that night you have some maniac tweeting that crap, that?s got to be hard to deal with,? said a Rodriguez insider. ?But Alex and Jennifer are strong enough to understand who they are. People have tried to knock them down, but you can?t fake love.?
They?re both grateful their relationship happened in their 40s: ?Both of them fully admit that if they?d [gotten together] 10 years ago, it just wouldn?t have worked,? said the longtime A-Rod friend. ?They were just different people back then.?
A-Rod doesn?t want to be the alpha?? ?Alex has always had very stunning, very famous girlfriends,? said a friend of the couple. ?He?s not one of those guys who has to be the alpha ? he doesn?t want to be the most famous guy in the room?. Jennifer always has security wherever she goes ? she has to. Arguably, she?s way more famous than Alex. If you dropped him in the middle of London, people wouldn?t really know him! They know him now for being with Jennifer.?

Let?s nip this in the bud right now: Alex absolutely wants to be the most famous guy in the room. He absolutely HAS to be the alpha. Tons of alpha men love to date or marry extremely famous women too, because they get off on feeling like they?re equally famous, and because they know the women?s fame will make them extra famous. The fact that Alex?s dating history is littered with famous women actually proves that he?s an alpha. Plus, theres the disturbing trend of alpha men wanting to be with beautiful, famous, accomplished women and getting those women to act like doormats, or to get those women to give up their careers, etc. But all these sources are right about one thing: Alex and Jennifer won?t break up until SHE is done. He can?t screw around and self-sabotage and hope that Jennifer will dump him. She won?t. She?ll stick around forever (or until she gets tired of him or finds someone else).
