My God. Just? my God. This is possible the worst Taylor Swift cover image I?ve ever seen. And that fact that it?s American Vogue and that Taylor is the co-host of this year?s Met Gala and Taylor is like the biggest thing in music right now? there?s absolutely no reason for Vogue to use this image for their cover. It?s SO WRONG. Does Anna Wintour passive-aggressively hate Taylor or something? This is Exhibit A for why bangs need to stop happening. Anyway, there will be plenty of time to pore over this Vogue profile ? you can read the full piece here. Taylor is usually a pretty good interview, and this Vogue piece is a breezy read. She?s matured to the point where he?s not taking swipes at people, but she?s still the Swifty we know and love/hate. Some highlights:
Her future plans: ?I have no idea. This is the first time in ten years that I haven?t known. I just decided that after the past year, with all of the unbelievable things that happened?I decided I was going to live my life a little bit without the pressure on myself to create something.?
She?ll never give up music: ?I?m always going to be writing songs. The thing is, with me, I could very well come up with three things in the next two weeks and then jump back into the studio, and all of a sudden the next record is started. That?s an option, too.?

I didn?t date for two and a half years. Should I have had to do that? No. I guess what I wanted to call attention to in my speech at the Grammys was how it?s going to be difficult if you?re a woman who wants to achieve something in her life?no matter what.?
Whether her girl-squad is actually a bad thing: ?Ugh. I?ve had people say really hurtful things about me, and so I?ve kind of learned how to gauge it: ?This is, like, low-to-medium-level hurtful.’ There are a lot of really easy ways to dispel rumors. If they say you are pregnant, all you have to do is continue to not be pregnant and not have a baby. If the rumor is that you have fake friendships, all you have to do is continue to be there for each other. And when we?re all friends in fifteen years and raising our kids together, maybe somebody will look back and go, ?That was kind of ridiculous what we said about Taylor and her friends.?”

I glanced through the whole piece and I?m giving Taylor a slow-clap for not engaging with Kanye West in any way. If this was three years ago, she would have had unnamed sources or her girlfriends do the heavy lifting on taking someone down, but Taylor just breezes past the subject of Kanye with what amounts to a shrug. Good for her. The only eye-roll moment I had was this: ?I went out on a normal amount of dates in my early 20s, and I got absolutely slaughtered for it.? That, to me, is a fundamental misreading on Taylor?s part. I never cared that she dated guys, and she?s a celebrity so of course her boyfriends will get attention and media coverage. She was ?slaughtered? (not even) in the press for using those relationships as barely-concealed blind item/hit-piece songs. She literally has a song called ?Dear John? about John Mayer. She literally has a song ?Style? about Harry Styles. It was petty and juvenile.

Here are some photos of Kim Kardashian out and about in LA yesterday. We?re getting to that point in Kim?s post-pregnancy weight loss where she starts to get pap?d regularly in unfortunate outfits. I want to be clear ? I think Kim?s body looks fine. I hate when people make fun of her figure, especially since she really, really did not have an easy time with her two pregnancies and she?s been trying to get back on track. But Kim is so g?damn clueless about how to dress her curvy figure. Everything about this ensemble is made of NO. From the crochet skirt (WTF?) to the open-toe dominatrix boots (WTF?) to the boob-cage sheer blouse (UGH), this ensemble is just terrible. I get that she wants to ?look cute,? but it?s like she doesn?t realize that there are so many other options for her.
Meanwhile, Kim and Khloe were both blogging (on their subscription apps) about sex this week. Kim ended up admitting that she?s a member of the mile-high club and that she?s banged someone (Kanye?) in a movie theater.
Just a few hours after her sister blogged about having sex for the very first time, Kim Kardashian decided to talk about love during a Q&A on her website’s livestream. One fan was curious to find out if the reality star is a member of the mile high club.
“Am I? Yeah,” Kim shared with her assistant Steph who was reading questions. “But like the private. I don’t think like a public plane…It would have to be an international flight. It was an international, night flight when no one’s like around.”
But could that be the craziest place Kim has ever had sex? Not so says the fashion designer. “Like a public movie theatre, yeah.”

I would imagine it was Kanye for both, right? Kim and Kanye have always liked going to movies, so what would you do if they were in your movie theater, getting down? I would go and talk to the manager? probably. As for having sex on a private plane? I would imagine that would be fun. And isn?t that the whole point of flying private?

Hills alum and author Kristin Cavallari is on the promotional trail for her new book Balancing in Heels: My Journey to Health, Happiness, and Making It All Work. She recently sat down with Steve Harvey, whom I can only assume is the Ellen DeGeneres for lower level celebrities, and the discussion turned to the part of her book that discussed how she and husband, Chicago Bears QB Jay Cutler, engage in sexting when they are apart. I didn?t need to know that, but Steve Harvey did. When asked about the sexting, Kristin laughingly confessed, ?Half the time, I?m doing other stuff. I?m doing my nails, I?m folding laundry, and then I?ll kind of do a little text.?
In the book, Kristin writes that she and Jay video chat and send each other sexy photos, asserting that you ?Gotta do what you gotta do? to keep things exciting in the marriage. Kristin also discussed some other details of her previously rocky romance. Here are some highlights:
On postponing her marriage: We moved vey quickly: We got engaged after eight months, and then we actually broke up about two and a half, three months later. Called off the engagement. And then we got back together, and when we got back together, I kind of went through a little phase where I didn’t know if I wanted to get married. I think it was really more about my ego, I had one foot in and one foot out and that was ridiculous. And if we were gonna be together and really give it a shot, that wasn’t fair. So, I decided to grow up, I guess.
On going to marriage counseling with Jay: I think it’s important for people to know that there’s no such thing as a perfect relationship, you know? We work on it. It’s true. We love each other and we want to make it work, but I 100 percent credit our therapist for saving our relationship. We’ve come so far being in therapy both individually and together as a couple, that it’s been incredibly beneficial.

Kristin had previously talked about the benefits of therapy for her relationship and I guess it?s admirable that she?s so open about discussing it, trying to remove any perceived stigmas. But, in this day and age I would think a lot of couples go to counseling. I did. Didn?t help, but I tried. I?m not the audience for this book, but I guess a self-help memoir is the logical next step for former reality stars? Well, that and humblebrag pics on Instagram, like the one Kristin recently posted of her in a bikini getting ready to pump breast milk. Again, didn?t need to know that, but I?ll grudgingly admit that she can rock a bikini.

As some of you know, I?m sort of a Kate Hudson apologist. It?s not that I?m a huge fan or anything, it?s just that she doesn?t offend me. She?s by far the most easy-going of the ?Lifestyle Blondes? selling their wares these days, and even when Hudson talks about exercise and diet, she?s not annoying ? she usually says some variation of ?do what works for you.? Before this moment, I never really thought about the fact that we really don?t see Kate trotting out her kids every week. And I realized something weird ? we can shade her for her dating life and her red carpet thirst, but I actually believe her biggest priority is motherhood and her kids. She manages to find a quiet balance between her privacy as a mom and her public persona/career without bashing us over the heads with it. Anyway, I was thinking of all of that when I read these excerpts from the essay she wrote for InStyle?s May issue. Her essay is in honor of Mother?s Day and it?s called ?Sometimes I Feel Like a Bad Mom.? Some highlights:
?I was really young, like, 23, when I had Ryder. So, our relationship has always been [a little unusual]. I mean, we?re close, and I am his mom. I?m big on manners. I?m big on politeness. I?m big on gratitude. But I?m a bit of a wild mom.?
?Some days I feel like I should win best mom of the day award, and some days I find myself doing strange things that don?t have any real purpose, in faraway corners in my house, and I realize I am literally and deliberately hiding from my children.?
??Even though every primal ounce of the nurturing, domestic woman in me gets pulled, I?m a hunter as well. And I love to hunt! And as a woman I feel that somehow we are supposed to feel apologetic about wanting both. But I don?t want to apologize for that anymore. Being both already comes at an emotional cost, without adding society?s antiquated idea of the traditional roles of man and woman in the home.?
?Yes, I help my kids with their homework. But I also get bored doing it. I will sit and listen to my children pontificate and discuss their ideas till the day is long because it warms my heart, but I really don?t want to do math! I?m gonna say it: I?d prefer to watch ‘The Bachelor’ rather than do fractions and divisions.?

I like and admire her honesty. To me, it seems like a dirty little secret amongst mothers, that sometimes you miss the time where you didn?t have children, or that sometimes your kids annoy the ever-loving f?k out of you. And I also admire when women talk about how yeah, it?s fulfilling to be a mom but it?s also fulfilling to work outside of the home, to be ?a hunter.?
Kate also told InStyle that she does her own social media ? as in, her management hasn?t taken it over ? and she also chats about her romantic life. She said: ?It really feels like high school. I can?t say hello to anybody without [people speculating we?re together]. I don?t comment when I?m single because some of them are right, some of them are wrong. But I end up with everybody anyway! I?ve been linked to every one of my brother?s best friends. We?re going to do a coffee table book of all of my ?mystery men.?? My guess? She has a friends-with-benefits situation with multiple men, including Nick Jonas.

Jennifer Lopez?s W Magazine profile just gave me the perfect term for why I love her so much: she is ?the people?s diva.? Like, the people?s princess, only in multi-hyphenate diva form. Anyway, I sort of hate Jennifer?s W Magazine editorial ? you can see the slideshow here. It?s sort of awful, and they made Jennifer wear a terrible blonde mullet wig in half the pics. As for the interview, it?s longer than most W Mag profiles. It reads like a day-in-the-life piece, and Jennifer is really, really busy. You can read the full piece here, and here are some highlights:
The people?s diva: ?I?ve been in the grind and the game for a long time. At a certain point, people respect you when they see you fall down and get back up. The more you?re in this life, the more they celebrate your triumphs. When it comes to work, I never get tired. But with personal failures, I have thought, This is too hard. When my marriage ended, it was not easy to find forgiveness. It wasn?t the dream that I had hoped for, and it would have been easier to fan the flames of resentment, disappointment, and anger. But Marc is the father of my children [8-year-old twins], and that?s never going away. So, I have to work to make things right. And that is, by far, the hardest work I do.?

On Marc Anthony: ?I hung in there for seven years. I knew very quickly that it wasn?t the right thing.?
On Casper Smart: ?We got together and broke up and are now together again. I still think about getting married and having that long life with someone. I love the movie The Notebook. A dream of mine is to grow old with someone.?
On being more accessible after her stint on American Idol: ?It has been easier. People may now think I?m ?nice,? but they still act surprised when I?m smart. It?s a man?s world, and, truly, people in a business setting do not value a woman as much as a man. I feel like I?m constantly having to prove myself. If a man does one thing well, people immediately say he?s a genius. Women have to do something remarkable over and over and over. And, even then, they get questions about their love life. People underestimate me. They always have, and maybe that?s for the best. It?s fun to prove them wrong.?

I do think J.Lo is smart? in almost every area of her life. She?s dumb in love, but smart everywhere else. And she?s right about people undervaluing her simply because she?s a woman, just as she?s right about constantly being underestimated. I love the bit about her thin ankles and wrists, I love the shade she has for Marc Anthony and I?m absolutely astonished that she hasn?t been alone in public in 20 years. She?s also wrong about dancers being the best lovers ? swimmers are obviously the best lovers!
Meanwhile, there?s one thing I?d like to mention ? last week, there was a controversy about J.Lo?s new single, ?Ain?t Your Mama.? The song is awful, full-stop. But it was written by Meghan Trainor, and there were widespread reports that the track had been ?produced? by Dr. Luke. Jennifer got a lot of online hate and shade for that. But E! News reported that Trainor had written the song several years back and her version was produced by Dr. Luke back then, before Kesha?s lawsuit. Then Trainor gave the song to J.Lo and J.Lo didn?t know Dr. Luke had ever had his fingerprints on it. Trainor confirmed that version of events this week, calling the backlash against Jennifer ?ridiculous? and ?not fair on her, not at all.?
