In preparation of the expected upcoming nuptials between Nicole Richie and Joel Madden, a plethora of moving and supply trucks arrived at Lionel Richie?s house in Beverly Hills on Tuesday (December 7).
The paparazzi snapped up photos of the trucks and vans that were carrying what looked to be parts of a dance floor and stage.
A source told Radar Online, ?A stage is being built over the pool in the backyard so the guests will have more space to dance.?
While details of the wedding remain under wraps, some guests that will surely be in attendance include Samantha Ronson and Christina Aguilera.

The "Backup Plan" beauty turned up in a curve-hugging white frock and shades as film crews taped her strolling into the hit FOX show's venue.
Making for a change-up to the normal "Idol" schedule, the show is set to be kicked off with a two-night premiere event on Wednesday, January 19 and on Thursday, January 20 at 8:00 P.M. ET/PT.
Another change in the musical talent show is that, for the first time, contestants will be able to get to the Top 12 without having to go through the Top 24 round first.

Before delving into the Todd Parr literary work, the 30-year-old continued to tell, "I chose this book because it's one of the favourites of my kids (sic)."

Last night was also the big premiere for The Fighter, that ?based on a true story? film about ?Irish? Mickey Ward and his crackhead brother Dicky Eklund. Mark Wahlberg plays the boxer, and Christian Bale is crack-tinged Oscar-bait as Dicky Eklund. These are photos from the premiere - Christian brought his wife Sybil and Mark brought his wife Rhea (who is gorgeous, and really, really tall). Also there: Amy Adams, who plays Mark?s love interest in the film, and this was one of her first red carpets since having a baby - she looks gorgeous too.
Anyway, out of the whole cast, Bale is the one likely to be the centerpiece of a big Oscar campaign. That means he?s got to dial down the surly jagoff and talk more about his process, including his stunning physical transformation to play Dicky:
It takes a lot of training to be a boxer, and sometimes, even more to train one. Christian Bale, no stranger to epic weight loss, shed major pounds again for his role in the upcoming film, ‘The Fighter.’
Speaking to Latino Review, Bale said that to play the gaunt trainer Dicky Eklund, he, “was just running like crazy. I could just run for hours on end and I felt really healthy.” But did he get a little extra boost? “Oh I do a lot of coke whenever I lose weight,” he joked, clarifying, “I’m not sure if it’s so funny for this movie, to say that.”
While Bale slimmed down, his co-stars had to bulk up. Leading man Mark Wahlberg, who plays boxer “Irish” Mickey Ward, did a lot of boxing - for quite a long time.
“The movie was a go then it fell apart and I just continued to train” he said. “So after four and a half, well, three and a half years, I felt confident enough to go in there and be believable as a boxer who could possibly win the welterweight title.”
Though he still has the boxing ring he trained with in his home, it isn’t getting much use.
“As far as the regimen, my new regimen consists of a bottle of red wine and a lot of food,” Wahlberg told the site. “And I’m enjoying myself, but my wife is like, you know, ‘You - you’re starting to look really bad.’”
And as for his onscreen wife, played by Amy Adams? She was ready to rumble.
“I looked like a girl who couldn’t punch, which made me want to punch him,” she said of director, David O. Russell. “So I actually took just a couple boxing lessons, and that was fun, with Mark’s trainer, who was fantastic. And then we just did some fight choreography. That was my biggest concern. I didn’t want to hurt the girl that I was fighting.”

Bale has done this whole ?radical physical transformation? too many times, in my opinion. I mean, I get it, he?ll do anything for the craft, he?ll do anything to make the character authentic. But I also kind of wonder if Bale has issues, I guess. We?ll see - my guess is that Bale screws up his Oscar chances somehow. Granted, I think he?ll get the nomination (for Best Supporting Actor), but I think he?ll mouth off to the wrong journalist or he?ll just pitch a fit at the glad-handing needed to campaign for an Oscar.

Yesterday, I covered some newish photos of Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway in Australia, doing a photo call and promoting Love & Other Drugs. Hathaway was wearing a really fug Christopher Kane ice-skater?s onesie that sparkled magically in the heterosexual gleam of Jake?s eye. It was tacky. So I?m glad to see that Anne was greatly improved for the Australian premiere - Anne is wearing Oscar de la Renta (Spring 2011). Jake is in Burberry, although I think he?s worn this same suit for every formal event in the past month.
Anne has been doing some bridal styles for this promotional round, and I have to admit, this de la Renta might be my favorite. Is it kind of bridesmaid-y? Sure. But I don?t even think that?s the fault of the dress - Anne just seems to have bridesmaid style, in general. But I think the mod silhouette really works in Anne?s favor - she doesn?t look ?too old? or ?too much? like she sometimes tends to.

A source at the Beverly Hills car dealership told press that if Hilton buys the Rolls, that could me big sales boosts for the Ghost overall.
?They said that they sell tons of Bentleys every week from wealthy people around the world that request the same model the heiress has. It?s always, ?I want the Bentley Paris has. We're hoping her driving the new Ghost will have the same effect.?

Last night was a big premiere night in NYC and LA. The stars of The Tempest came out for the big LA premiere. Helen Mirren is the star, but most photos were of Russell Brand and his wife Katy Perry. Is this the first red carpet they?ve walked together as husband and wife? I think it is. Which begs the question: why now? Is Katy jealous of Russell?s relationship with Dame Helen Mirren? Is Katy marking her territory? Could be. Brand made sure to stay away from fondling Dame Helen, and he kept his eyes on his wife. Katy wore Elie Saab - I actually think the dress is really pretty, but Katy has the ability to make even high-fashion couture look trashy, in my opinion. Perhaps it?s that she?s almost always in vinyl, so that when she actually wears a gown, there?s still a hint of rubber. She has a rubber soul, I think.

Usually Ann Curry (Today?s resident Brangeloonie) does the Jolie-Pitt interviews, but I guess Lauer is upping his game. Can I admit something? In the first shot of Jolie, as she?s seated before Lauer, I thought she was topless. The neckline on her blouse reveals her (bony) shoulders, and the blouse is flesh-toned (to my eyes), so it gives a very topless illusion. Anyway, here?s the video and some quotes:

The Camuto Group has licensing partnerships for 22 of Simpson’s product lines, including swimwear, dresses, outerwear, watches and fragrances, and recently licensed The Jones Group Inc. to create and distribute Simpson’s new sportswear line for next fall.
The success of her jeanswear collection, to which The Jones Group also has the license, has gone “beyond our expectations,” Jack Gross, CEO of Jeanswear for The Jones Group, told WWD. Jessica Simpson Sportswear and Jeanswear are expected to generate between $150 million and $200 million in retail sales within the next two years, he says.

Angelina wore a long-sleeved Atelier Versace gown in a soft winter white - it looks like some kind of fuzzy cashmere blend. CB thinks it?s too long, and that the hem is all over the place. I have to agree - and I also think the side slit is kind of cheesy and much, much too high, especially for winter, and especially when Jolie barely has any color on her legs. But I love the dress from the waist up - the neckline and the plunging V-neck on the bust looks beautiful on her.
As far as styling? well, Jolie has been doing this ?big hair? thing on red carpets over the past year. It?s very Dynasty, in my opinion. But I appreciate that she?s changing it up, and her makeup looks really good too. Oh, and I love the earrings.
As for Brad? eh. He looks nice, I guess. In photos it doesn?t really look like they were all over each other, as they usually are. Maybe he was cold. Maybe he thought she looked like a Dynasty reject too.

And now for Part II of our coverage of last night?s premiere of The Tourist. I had been hoping that all of Jolie?s hot male costars would show up for the premiere, and indeed, most of them did. Johnny Depp, the lead jointly with Jolie, flew solo for the event - God knows where Vanessa Paradis was. I?m pretty sure Depp is still filming the fourth Pirates of the Caribbean film in London, so this was likely just a day trip for him - that?s all he could be spared. It looks like that Jack Sparrow eye makeup is really hard to wash off, right? Yeah? I think Depp looks kind of mangy here, but I will allow the possibility that his hair and styling looks so bad because this was a hurried trip.
Interesting side note: the two leads, Depp and Jolie, did not pose for photos together on the red carpet. At all. No chummy-but-professional awkward arms-on-back pose, no kissy-face for the cameras. It?s weird.
Anyway, you know who I just can?t get enough of? Paul Bettany. He?s grown out his hair and? DAMN, this man is FINE. Paul plays the government dude trying to track Angelina Jolie?s character, I think. It?s the kind of supporting part Paul usually gets, but now that he?s stirring up my lady bits, I?m hoping he takes another stab at lead roles. He?s really, really handsome here. Oh, and his beautiful wife Jennifer Connelly looks good too - she?s wearing Balenciaga. Eh on the dress, but she looks good - she?s gained some weight after looking painfully thin for a while.
I know you bitches like Rufus Sewell? we get a lot of requests for him for HGF. I think he often comes across as rather smarmy, but yes, he is an attractive man. He looks really good here too.
And Brooke Shields, for some reason. She?s not in the movie, I guess she just wanted to see it.

A synopsis via IMDB tells: "In Julie Taymor's version of 'The Tempest,' the main character is now a woman named Prospera. In Taymor's version, Prospera is usurped by her brother and sent off with her four-year daughter on a ship. She ends up on an island; it's a tabula rasa: no society, so the mother figure becomes a father figure to Miranda. Taking to the red carpet for their new movie, Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp were front and center at the New York City premiere of "The Tourist" on Monday night (December 6).
The lovely co-stars worked their way inside the Ziegfield Theatre, with Miss Jolie being joined by her hunky "Fight Club" partner Brad Pitt at the Big Apple screening.
Due in theaters this Friday (December 10), "The Tourist" is directed by Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck while telling the story of "an American tourist named Frank who visits Italy to mend a broken heart - during which time he crosses paths with an extraordinary woman named Elise."
Talking about the film, Jolie recently said, "We wanted something that was a pleasure and an escape that you wish Paris and Venice were and everyone feels this elegance for a moment. It felt like I was back in some of these old-time movies."
Meanwhile, Depp added, "I've done a number of things where these characters are considered a little bit out (of the ordinary), so I wanted to see what I could do with a normal guy put into radically intense situations with various ticks."

As for becoming a father, Johnny told, ?It didn?t change my life. It made my life. My kids are amazing. Even when they were babies I was learning from them. Now, my daughter is 11 and Jack is 8. We get into these pretty profound conversations. My kids ask questions that leave my head spinning. They?ve absolutely added just pureness to my life. Just pure joy. I can?t say I had that prior to having children.?
When asked if his little ones realize their parents' notoriety, he said, ?No, they think I go out and do a job like working construction. It?s like, 'Daddy?s gone and now he?s home again.' When I?m home, we shut out the rest of the world and we?re just a regular family making dinner and watching movies. It?s just the best fun in the world.?
