A couple of days ago, when we covered the story about Jennifer Garners April Fools Day prank, some of you speculated in the comments that she have be broken up with her boyfriend, restaurant technology innovator John Miller, at some point. We havent seen them out together in ages and she gets photographed basically every day. Well US Magazine had a story leading up to the weekend which I missed because it was just a little update they buried. A source tells them that Jennifer and John are doing great, thanks for asking, and that she loves that hes a simple guy who is not in the entertainment industry. US also repeated a source quote from back in January that they wouldnt be surprised if these two got engaged by the summer.
Jennifer Garner is more than happy to keep her romance with beau John Miller out of the spotlight ? and she doesn?t mind that his career draws less attention than hers.
?They?re doing great,? a source exclusively reveals of the private pair in the new issue of Us Weekly. ?[Jennifer] loves that he?s not in the entertainment industry and is just a simple guy.?
?No one would be surprised if they got engaged by summer. John has discussed marrying Jen,? a second insider exclusively told Us in January, noting that the Peppermint star ?admires John because he is just normal.?
Garner?s three kids with Affleck ? Violet, 13, Seraphina, 9, and Samuel, 7 ? also approve of their mom?s boyfriend, who she is ?very much in love? with, added the second source.

So just in case you were wondering, since Ben Affleck has been seen out so often with Lindsay Shookus, Jennifer is doing fine with her boyfriend. I get the impression she would rather show this with a photo op but that hes not keen on doing that. Meanwhile there was a rumor that Ben Afflecks girlfriend, Lindsay Shookus, is pregnant. I wouldnt have heard about it except for Gossip Cop debunking it. Apparently an outlet saw Lindsays Bed Bath and Beyond bag, where she was shopping for pillows over the weekend with John, and because it said Buy Buy Baby they thought it was from a baby store. Theres a Buy Buy Baby store inside the Bed Bath and Beyond but its just a combo bag for both stores. Lindsay isnt pregnant according to the source who spoke to Gossip Cop. For all you can say about Ben, and theres plenty because his last girlfriend we know about was a 22 year-old Playboy model, hes dating a woman around his age and I doubt either of them are clamoring for more kids. Same with Jennifer Garner.

Last Friday, Angelina Jolie was in New York to attend meetings at the United Nations. She also gave a keynote address to committee, and her speech was all about women?s rights and the need to focus on women in warfare and conflict. Her speech was well-received, and basically, she seems perfectly at home at the UN, perfectly at home with speech-making and activism and problem-solving behind the scenes. We also know that Angelina carries several titles now: she?s a dame, she?s a professor, she?s a Special Envoy for the UNHCR, and she?s arguably a saint too. But would Angelina ever want the title of Senator Jolie or Congresswoman Jolie or President Jolie? Why not? She spoke to People Magazine about all of that more:
Whether she would ever run for office: ?Never say never. [But ] right now I am looking to others for leadership.?
Her work with women in conflict: ?I try to speak for what I believe in,? Jolie says of her causes. Currently, one of those causes is that the laws that treat women around the world like ?second class citizens? need to change. ?If you look across the world, there are far too many women and girls who are not only not seeing progress, their rights are slipping away from them,? Jolie says. But Jolie adds that the laws don?t just need to change. ?We also have to enforce them. So one of the things we are putting forward now is a proposal for a permanent international body to investigate war crimes, including mass rape and other sexual and gender-based violence.?
Her PSVI initiative, seven years later: ?There is now a lot more awareness and discussion and many more countries have made commitments. For example, 156 countries have pledged not to include amnesties for rape when they are negotiating peace agreements. It is hard to believe, but peace treaties routinely grant immunity to people who?ve carried out the most disgusting violent crimes against civilians. So we have to make sure all those countries live up to that commitment.?
She?s made lifelong friends along the way: ?The second UN mission I went on, to Cambodia, I met two women from England and France, Katie and Mimi, who were working with UNHCR. Loung was there as well, and we did a UN and HALO mission. We have all been friends ever since, for coming up on twenty years now. I feel very blessed in my work to have the opportunity to meet so many extraordinary people who spend their lives dedicated to others.?

I kind of love that she talked about the friends she?s made along the way with her UNHCR. She gave an interview once I think with CNN? where she made an aside about how she doesn?t have many friends. The haters threw a party about that, like it wasn?t just some random aside she made without thinking. She has friends, they just aren?t performative Instagram-friendships. They?re built on substantive work and shared humanitarian goals. As for running for officeI mean, I doubt it. I don?t think she would run for office here in America. But in Britain? Why not.

Two weeks ago, Emilia Clarke penned an incredibly well written essay for the New Yorker in which she revealed that she?d suffered two brain hemorrhages, two years apart, in between filming seasons of Game of Thrones. Her essay was masterful in that she managed to convey how painful and scary it was but she never sounded self-pitying and she didn?t even use flowery language. In an appearance on The Late Show this week, Emilia gave an extra detail about her hemorrhage which was not in her article. She said that she realized as it was happening that she was suffering brain damage and that she actively worked to try to counteract that. She was just as matter-of-fact in her description of that as she was in her writing. I am so impressed with her.
On her brain hemorrhages
I suffered two brain hemorrhages while we were filming. Right after we shot season one and right after we shot season three. The best way to describe it is it?s the worst headache a human could manage to experience.
What did you think was going on [as you experienced that]?
I genuinely knew I was being brain damaged. You?re incredibly ill and you?ve got this horrific headache. I knew that meant brain damage. I tried to keep as active as possible, move my fingers, toes, hands, ask myself questions. Really trying to force my memory to work to stay conscious.
How did you know that would help you?
The mind is an extraordinary thing. I just knew. Not today.
People die frequently from this. Did it change your attitude to life?
It made me petrified most of the time. At some point you start to realize how lucky you are. The perspective that gives you is enormous and that is for the rest of your life.

Emilia is getting the most headlines for admitting she told her mom how Game of Thrones ended. Her mom has already forgotten though! My mom is like that, she would forget, and I would have told her too. Emilia said that after she read the final season she went for a walk for two hours because it was hard to take. She said it was really hard not to spoil the ending because she so wants to talk about it. (That must be what happened to Maisie Williams, although I heard that was an April Fool?s joke.) She also made fun of Kit Harrington because he always complains about his heavy cloak and the cold weather for when he films. She said she has to film in the heat all day and it?s way harder.
As for Emilia?s brain hemorrhages and realizing that she needed to keep active, I heard a fascinating story from Jill Bolte Taylor, a brain scientist who had a stroke and realized as it was happening. She had the background to recognize and observe how she was processing information differently. Taylor wrote the book My Stroke of Insight: A Brain Scientists Personal Journey (I have not read it) where she describes having a stroke and her recovery. Emilia could easily write a book about everything she?s gone through and I?m sure it would be a bestseller.

Emilia has also started a charity called SameYou.org to help young adults recover from brain injuries. Shes asking other people to share their recovery stories.

The past year has been full of low-key news about Britney Spears. Throughout the spring and summer of 2018, Britney & Jamie Spears were in a financial battle with Kevin Federline, who still has full custody of his sons with Britney. The reason he still has full custody is because Britney is still in a comprehensive conservatorship, and after months of making noise about how he was going to fight K-Fed in court, Jamie Spears folded and gave K-Fed more money than he was asking for, all to avoid K-Fed?s audit of Britney?s finances. Then Jamie had significant health problems, starting late last year. He was hospitalized for a long time, and Britney had to cancel her latest Vegas show. Then, very quietly, Britney?s co-conservator Andrew Wallet quit with no warning and no one in place to act as co-conservator. And Jamie?s health is still struggling.
All in all, this hasn?t been the best environment for Britney. As we?ve seen, she?s thrived relatively speaking while under the conservatorship because Jamie controls so much of her life and provided her with a great deal of stability. That?s been out the window for about six months. So? yes, Britney has checked into a mental health facility.
Britney Spears has been admitted to a mental health facility TMZ has learned. Sources connected to Britney tell TMZ she has been distraught over her dads illness something were told is quite serious and not getting better. Jamie Spears has now had 2 surgeries to correct major issues with his intestines and colon. The second surgery was recent but hes been suffering complications. Jamies issues started late last year after his colon spontaneously ruptured.
As you know, Britney put her Vegas residency on hold to care for her dad, and were told shes been having a really hard time. Britney posted a photo with the words, Fall in love with taking care of yourself, mind, body, spirit along with the caption, We all need to take a little time for a little me time. Our sources say Britney checked herself into the facility about a week ago where she will live for 30 days.
As TMZ reported, Britney has been under a conservatorship since 2008 for issues relating to bipolarity. As for how her dads illness is affecting her remember, Jamie saved Britneys life by stepping in back in 2007 when he said he feared he would wake up one morning and get a call from the coroner.

A source tells PEOPLE exclusively that the singer checked into a facility for ?all-encompassing wellness treatment.? According to another source close to the family, ?Britney just needed to focus on herself? as she cares for her father Jamie after his ?life-threatening? colon rupture, the source confirms.
?Her dad being sick has taken a toll on her,? the source tells PEOPLE. ?He nearly died and actually had another surgery a few weeks ago. He?s not doing well. They?re so close and it has been a lot. There is nothing dramatic going on with her ? she just realized she needs to make sure to take time to care for herself.?

I wonder where Lynn Spears is? Lynn and Jamie divorced years ago, but they?re reportedly still close, and Lynn is close to both of their daughters. Still, I feel like there was always a reason why Lynn was never given any power within the conservatorship. I also think that there?s been way too much chaos in Britney?s life lately and we probably don?t even know how bad it was getting for her before she checked into the facility. I?m concerned about what happens after the 30 days, you know? Will Lynn step up? Will there be a new court-appointed conservator?
