Over the summer, Jessica Simpson did a big exclusive with Bustle an editorial and an interview. I hadn?t seen new photos of her in a while and I was startled by how different she looked in those pics. She said, in the interview, that she?s not on Ozempic, but her face tells a different story. Well, Jessica stepped out this week in New York, and here are some photos of her appearance. She was honored at Footwear News? Annual Achievement Awards and she received the Icon Award for her successful footwear and clothing company.
I?m not sure how much I want to get into it or try to figure out what Jessica has done to herself. After her third child and after Jessica got sober, she steadily lost weight and that changed her face. But? yeah, I also think she?s gotten some work done and it?s not good quality work either. She was always so beautiful, but it?s actually on-brand for Jess that she sort of looks like a Real Housewife now.
Professionally, Jessica is seemingly in a good place, so at least there?s that. She and her mother have basically bought back full control of Jessica?s eponymous clothing line and brand, and Jessica is maybe/probably still in debt up to her eyeballs. It honestly feels pretty tenuous, so I hope everything works out in the end.

Jennifer Garner has really built up her whole brand on being a ?relatable mom.? I like Garner going back to her Alias days. I know she and Ben Affleck used to do those church and farmers market type family walks for the paparazzi, but since they?ve been divorced, she seems to be a lot more lowkey. I could not even tell you who her new boyfriend is or what he looks like. Part of Jennifer?s public persona is doing videos on Instagram. In a recent video, she showed her followers what?s in her backpack. It starts out innocent, with pens, books, an iPad, and candy. Then, things start to get a little nutty.
?What?s in my bag? I?m embarrassed to even show you ?. ,? Garner, 51, teased via Instagram on Saturday, November 25. The actress proceeded to pull everything out of her backpack for her followers to see. The contents started out normal enough, with a notebook, glasses case and ?a little pouch of pens because pens are life.?
However, the Family Switch actress quickly learned that like a squirrel she hoards nuts ? and candy ? for the winter.
?A little tiny bag of nuts,? she said while pulling a plastic bag out of her carry-all. ?I?m gonna keep these ? just kidding.?
Garner was then surprised to see that she had another plastic bag of nuts and multiple prepackaged varieties of the food item, including two pistachio snacks, in her bag as well. ?Nuts. Nuts. Nuts. Nuts,? she said as one by one she unveiled another bag.
The 13 Going on 30 star broke into laughter and started to cry as she kept finding more nuts. ?I?m so scared I?m not going to have any nuts,? she joked through her tears, revealing that she counted eight bags in total.
Garner?s second biggest bag revelation was that she had both empty and full bags of candies hidden deep in her backpack. ?Gotta have your candy handy,? she joked after finding two bags of the same brand. While Garner also carried two books and an iPad, it was her food choices that caught the attention of her fans and friends.
?You are adorable ,? Courteney Cox replied in the comments, while Mindy Kaling agreed, ?Pens are LIFE.?
Reese Witherspoon, meanwhile, wrote what many of Garner?s followers were thinking, commenting, ?So many nuts!! Are you a squirrel? .? One fan went as far as to call Garner ?the Mary Poppins of nuts.?

?The Mary Poppins of nuts? is absolutely hilarious. The entire video is a really fun watch. It?s also relatable to someone like me, who carries around a tote bag full of ?What if I need these?? items when, really, I would get by just fine with only a clutch, lol. I am also a person who believes that pens are life and The Giver (in her bag because she?s reading with her son) is one of my favorite books. The bag is, well, a Relatable Mom bag.
But back to all the nuts! You never know when you?re going to get hungry and nuts are a good snack option. The immature part of me wonders if she was also giggling at saying the word ?nuts? so many times. My kindergartener once brought home a school library book that was about a squirrel hunting for nuts and by page four, I was crying from laughing so hard. Every sentence was something to the effect of, ?I love nuts! Nuts are yummy! I want to eat some nuts!? I truly burst out laughing every time I said the word. Then, my nine-year-old heard me laughing and came into the room and started chanting ?Deez nuts.?
Also, I may be the last person to know this but just in case I?m not, heres a little PSA: Last night, I discovered that Alias is on Disney+ and Amazon Prime. It really gave me a hankering to do a rewatch. I love the first three seasons of that show and it?s been a good 15 years since my last rewatch. (It was possibly right after The Hangover came out.) It may be time to revisit the world of Sydney Bristow and the yummy Michael Vaughn.

Best Performance by an Actress in a Union-Supporting Role 2023 goes to Jessica Chastain. Throughout the SAG-AFTRA strike, Jessica was articulate on the issues at stake and why they were vital to working actors. She also had more opportunity to talk than her fellow thesps, as her latest film, Memory, received an interim agreement which allowed her to attend film festivals and give interviews. She dutifully explained how waivers worked and asked if independent studios could meet actors? needs, then why couldn?t AMPTP? Now that the SAG-AFTRA strike is over, Jessica is touting all that?s good about the new contract. She?s currently serving as jury president at the Marrakech International Film Festival (where Memory is screening but not in competition) and talked to reporters about the film and the new deal:
Fair and just and historic: ?I?m glad that our SAG leadership has gotten to a deal they think is fair and just and historic in its own right,? said Chastain on the red carpet? ?We?re still waiting to find out what the voters are going to choose ? if they?re going to ratify the contract. I?ve looked through it. I do think personally it?s a good deal, but of course, I only have one vote. It?s important to me what everyone else thinks as well. The beautiful thing about taking a vote is that everyone gets to have a say,? she told a reporter with Deadline.
Hollywood strike poster girl: Asked if she had planned to be the poster girl for Hollywood strikes, she said that she was put in that position by accident, and the move wasn?t orchestrated. ?I became public by default ? I didn?t choose to be so public about it. It just so happened because my film had an interim agreement, and because so many actors were nervous, I think, to speak out, I just ended up being one of the first, and I think when you end up being one of the first in that case, you really have a big spotlight on yourself,? she said.
An actor prepares: ?I did my homework. I spoke to the leadership at SAG. I asked them, ?How can I best support this acting community?? because SAG is the most important community that I?ve ever been a part of. I would never want to do anything against them, and I only wanted to support them. It was kind of like I became public by default, but I was very happy to support in every way I could.?
Working with Memory director Michel Franco: ?The way Michel works is transfixing. He shoots in a way where you feel as a voyeur rather than an audience falling into a scene ? He doesn?t cut within a scene. Actors are given the freedom of doing whatever we feel like. While we stick to the script, everything is done in one take ? It is like doing theatre where you get freedom, creativity, and inspiration,? said Chastain.

I have to confess that my aunt cant stand Jessica Chastain! I think it started when Jessica won the Critics Choice Award for Zero Dark Thirty in 2013 and quoted Bertolt Brecht. (Which was so silly to me, because if I were to hate Jessica Chastain it would be for her having natural red hair, my dream.) Jessica was exceedingly earnest back then, but remember, she was just breaking through after years and years of being broke on the sidelines. But all of that is why she was the perfect ?poster girl? for the strike ? she knows the cost of building a career from the ground up. She?s been there, having had no connections or family in the industry. And now that she?s comfortable, she loves nothing more than to advocate for her peers on the other side of that trajectory. Still earnest, but also just good, clean kindness. Backed by a killer wardrobe.

Wednesday, November 22 was the last day of the ?window? for the New York state?s Adult Survivors Act. Meaning, it was the last day for survivors of sexual assault or harassment to sue the people who harmed them without running into any statutes of limitations. It?s more than likely that Cassie had that timeline in mind when she sued Sean Combs. Then, another victim came forward and sued Bad Boy Records? former president Harve Pierre of harassment and assault. A former model has also sued Axl Rose, saying that he sexually assaulted her in 1989 in a New York hotel. And now this: a woman going by Jane Doe at this time has filed a complaint against Jamie Foxx.
Jamie Foxx has been accused of sexually assaulting a woman at a New York City restaurant, according to court records. The womans complaint, filed in New York Supreme Court on Wednesday, and obtained by PEOPLE, alleged that the incident took place in August 2015 at Catch NYC.
The alleged victim, referred to as Jane Doe, claimed she entered the establishment where she saw Catch Hospitality Group co-founder Mark Birnbaum seated ?one table away having drinks? with Foxx, 55, whose real name is Eric Marlon Bishop.
Doe alleged that at approximately 1:00 a.m., she and a friend approached Foxx?s table to ask for a picture with the Academy Award winner. She claimed he replied, ?Sure baby, anything for you,? and proceeded to take ?several photographs.?
In the complaint, the woman alleged that Foxx ?seemed intoxicated.?
She claims The Burial actor told her, ?Wow, you have that super model body?, ?You smell so good? and ?You look like Nickie.? When she asked ?Who?s Nickie?,? Foxx replied, ?Gabrielle Union.? She alleged he then grabbed her by her arm and pulled her to the back area of the rooftop.
The court filing alleged that once she and Foxx were in a secluded area, he ?placed both of his hands on her waist, moved them under her ?crop top? and began rubbing her breasts.?
She said she attempted to step away from him and noticed a security guard ?some distance away who saw what was happening but walked further away.?

The complaint goes into further detail, about how Foxx groped her genitals and he didn?t stop until Doe?s friend found her on the rooftop and got her the hell away. It?s so believable a popular celebrity, drunk and partying, agrees to take a photo with a fan and then feels entitled to put his hands all over the fan. It truly happens all the time. Foxx?s spokesperson responded to the complaint/lawsuit:
On Thursday, a spokesperson for the actor, 55, told PEOPLE in a statement, The alleged incident never happened. In 2020, this individual filed a nearly identical lawsuit in Brooklyn. That case was dismissed shortly thereafter. The claims are no more viable today than they were then. We are confident they will be dismissed again.
And once they are, Mr. Foxx intends to pursue a claim for malicious prosecution against this person and her attorneys for re-filing this frivolous action, the spokesperson added.

Is this malicious prosecution? A woman sues, the case gets dismissed, and the woman hops jurisdictions and refiles three years later? Eh. It will be interesting to see what happens here Sean Combs settled with Cassie in record time, but from Foxx?s statement, I?m getting the vibe that he?s confident he won?t have to settle. For now.

Jamie-Lynn Sigler, aka Meadow Soprano, is now 42 years old and has two sons with her husband Cutter Dykstra, Beau, 10, and Jack, five. After originally presenting symptoms in 2000, Sigler was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) in 2001, when she was just 20 years old. Jamie-Lynn first revealed her diagnosis in 2016, sharing that she?d been careful to hide her condition from her coworkers for 15 years. In fact, Jamie-Lynn was so nervous about making her MS public that she was too scared to look at her phone after the news dropped. Those fears were quickly alleviated when the reaction was one of overwhelming support. That was a watershed moment for Jamie-Lynn that led to self-acceptance and unlocked her superpower: vulnerability.
On the morning of Jan. 20, 2016, Jamie-Lynn Sigler was a nervous wreck. She had just married her fianc of almost three years, baseball player Cutter Dykstra, and was awaiting the new issue of PEOPLE, in which they had shared exclusive photos and details of their big day.
But she was also revealing an even bigger secret. For almost 15 years the Sopranos alum had been quietly dealing with the debilitating symptoms of multiple sclerosis (MS), a degenerative autoimmune disease that damages the central nervous system.
When the issue hit newsstands, Sigler was afraid to look at her phone but quickly discovered an overwhelming outpouring of positive support.
?It was a big moment for me, because it was the beginning of this journey of self-reflection and self-acceptance,? she says. ?I grew up with this idea that people are only going to be attracted to you when you?re perfect, and it?s quite the opposite. While she has trouble walking for long periods of time and cannot run, ?I can still accomplish the things that I want to do, whether it be at work or at home,? she says.

That is such a wonderful attitude, and sign of maturity. I know this doesn?t apply to everyone, but I think when we?re younger, we tend to have this nave worldview about standards, expectations, and what constitutes ?perfection.? We put a lot of pressure on ourselves as a result. When we?re kids, we care about pleasing our parents. As we get older and into our teenage years, we want our friends to like us. As young adults, we might stop caring so much about what others think about us, but we still may privately compare ourselves to our peers in terms of looks, career, relationships, fashion, etc.
When my older son was born, I suddenly felt like I had to stifle parts of my personality because I was a loud-mouthed NY native who was still fairly new to living in the South. I didn?t want to embarrass him or have other moms think I was weird. It took me years to work out that honestly, we?re all a little bit weird in our own ways, lol. I?m happier just being myself and theres no set rules on what people are or arent attracted to. There really is something to be said about that moment when you accept yourself for all of your strengths, flaws, and vulnerabilities. It?s very empowering. I?m really glad that Jamie-Lynn is in a good place now and wish her all of the best in the years to come.

For five years now, the Spanish tax authorities have been on Shakira?s ass. They?ve opened up several investigations, charged her with tax fraud in several jurisdictions, made public statements about Shakira, and it all had the feel of a targeted campaign. Especially after Shakira gave a sort of epic interview last year, where she explained, in detail, why her relationship with Gerard Pique fell apart and why she has every confidence in her accountants at PricewaterhouseCoopers. She talked a lot about how she was sick and tired of being the latest celebrity targeted by the Spanish tax authorities and she promised to fight back with her extensive record-keeping. But she moved to Miami and she?s basically like ?nah, I don?t want to deal with this sh-t anymore,? so she made some kind of plea deal.
After having maintained her innocence for nearly five years, pop star Shakira struck a last-minute deal on the opening day of her tax fraud trial in Barcelona to avoid the risk of going to prison.
Shakira told the presiding magistrate, Jos Manuel del Amo, on Monday that she accepted the agreement reached with prosecutors. She answered ?yes? to confirm her acknowledgment of six counts of failing to pay the Spanish government 14.5 million euros (about $15.8 million) in taxes between 2012 and 2014. The trial, which was expected to include more than 100 witnesses over several weeks, was instead called off after just eight minutes.
Under the deal, Shakira is to receive a suspended three-year sentence and to pay a fine of 7.3 million euros ($8 million) in addition to the previously unpaid taxes and interest. She will pay another fine of 432,000 euros ($472,000) in exchange for having her prison sentence waived.
However, she now has it on her legal record that she was found guilty of tax fraud, which could affect another pending tax case.
The fraud allegations had hinged on where Shakira, now 46, lived during 2012-14. Prosecutors in Barcelona alleged the Colombian singer spent more than half of that period in Spain and therefore should have paid taxes on her worldwide income there even though her official residence was still in the Bahamas. Tax rates are much lower in the Bahamas than in Spain.
Shakira said in a statement provided by her public relations firm that she had wanted to fight on but put her family, career and peace of mind first.
?I have made the decision to finally resolve this matter with the best interest of my kids at heart who do not want to see their mom sacrifice her personal well-being in this fight,? she said. ?I need to move past the stress and emotional toll of the last several years and focus on the things I love, my kids and all the opportunities to come in my career.?

I?m kind of bummed that she didn?t fight, which is what she promised to do. She made the Spanish tax authorities sound corrupt and desperate and she made it sound like she would fight the good fight. But I also understand why she would just feel like putting an end to her Spain chapter. She lived in Spain for years to support Pique and all he did was cheat on her and treat her like garbage. She wanted a new life and a new chapter. I mean, I wouldn?t want to give up $24 million for a situation I found so dodgy, but maybe this speaks to what kind of extensive wealth Shakira really has.

Taylor Swift began the South American leg of her Eras Tour last weekend in Argentina. The next day, Travis Kelce flew down to see her and Taylor ended up rain-checking that night?s show due to, well, rain. She said on Twitter ?I love a rain show but I?m never going to endanger my fans or my fellow performers and crew. We?ve rescheduled tonight?s Buenos Aires show for Sunday due to the weather being so truly chaotic it would be unsafe to try and put on this concert.? And so it went. After a quick zip back to NYC, Taylor traveled back down for three Rio de Janeiro shows. Much of Brazil was under severe heat advisory last week, with temperatures at times exceeding 100 F. Tragically, one young fan lost her life due to the extreme heat at Friday?s show. Ana Clara Benevides Machado was 23 years old. After commenting on Instagram that she was ?shattered? by the death, Taylor took to Instagram again on Saturday, hours before showtime, to announce she was canceling due to the heat.
On Saturday, the pop superstar shared an Instagram Story, notifying her followers that her second of three Eras Tour concerts at Estadio Nilton Santos in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, will not go on as planned.
The decision, which Swift wrote was a result of the ?extreme temperatures in Rio,? comes a day after an attendee died ahead of Swift?s Friday concert.
?I?m writing this from my dressing room in the stadium,? Swift shared to her Instagram Story in a hand-written note Saturday. ?The decision has been made to postpone tonight?s show due to the extreme temperatures in Rio.?
?The safety and well being of my fans, fellow performers and crew has to and will always come first.?
While Swift?s announcement did not specify a new date for her Saturday show, event organizer Time for Fun revealed in a later statement that the show has been rescheduled to Monday, with all tickets to Saturday?s performance remaining valid for the new date.
The postponement follows Swift?s previous Instagram Story, where she revealed that her heart was ?shattered? by the death of a fan on Friday.
Time for Fun shared in a post on X, formerly Twitter, that 23-year-old Ana Clara Benevides Machado had died after feeling unwell at the venue. According to the post, which was shared in Portuguese, first responders attended to Benevides Machado and she died after being transferred to the local Salagdo Filfo Hospital.
?I can?t believe I?m writing these words, but it?s with a shattered heart that I say we lost a fan earlier tonight before my show,? Swift wrote on Friday.
?I can?t even tell you how devastated I am by this,? she added. ?There?s very little information I have other than the fact she was so incredibly beautiful and far too young.?

A local Brazilian paper, Folha De S Paulo, says that Ana Clara Benevides Machado arrived at the venue at 11am, and passed out shortly before the show?s 7:30pm start time. While the temperature was technically about 102 F that day, factoring in the humidity means that at times it felt like 138 F. Pivotally, Time for Fun apparently had a ban on bringing water bottles in, despite the extreme heat. Lots of videos have circulated this weekend of Taylor directing organizers to get water to fans clearly in need ? I wonder if she was aware that the very same organizers had banned the water bottles on their way in? Temperatures went down enough that Taylor resumed performing on Sunday, but the Brazilian government still ordered Time for Fun to allow fans to bring their own water bottles into the venue. Time for Fun has additionally said it would provide free water at lines and all entryways moving forward. Thanks, Time for Fun, but all this should have been set in motion on Friday when 60,000+ people were assembled in 140 F heat. Concert organizers should know this. (And let?s face it, severe weather will likely be around for a while.)
Ana Clara Benevides Machado was very excited to get on a plane to see her first Taylor Swift concert. Our thoughts and sympathies are with her family.

One of my biggest complaints about the Princess of Wales?s Early Years busywork is that it would be so easy for her to attach herself to a couple of big children?s charities and really commit to fundraising and raising the profiles of those charities. Instead of doing anything like that, Kate has wasted a lot of time, money and energy on a five-year ?awareness raising campaign? which amounts to ?the early years are important.? The lack of substance is even more glaring given the palace?s insistence that Kate is somehow doing groundbreaking, landmark work over there. Anyway, someone finally told Kate that she should actually try to help some kids at some point, so here you go:
Kate Middleton popped up in an unexpected place on Friday: the telly! The Princess of Wales, 41, made a surprise appearance on BBC to open their annual Children in Need telethon. Since it began in 1980, the broadcast has raised over 1 billion for disadvantaged youth in the U.K.
Speaking directly to the camera, Princess Kate said she was delighted that she was invited to kick off the festivities.
Tonight is all about helping to support, champion and empower all children to be the very best they can be, which is crucial for their future health and happiness, she said. Our relationships, surroundings and experiences during the earliest years lay the foundations that shape the rest of our lives. And yet sadly, we know that for too many people, stressful and traumatic situations in early childhood can cause harm and it can take many years to overcome.
The mother of three continued, It is vital, therefore, that we nurture every childhood and why the sorts of projects supported by Children in Need are so important. They help the very youngest, most vulnerable members of our society feel safe, secure and loved in these important, formative years so that they can enjoy their childhoods now and grow to reach their potential and thrive in the world in later life.

Back in March, the trial of the year went down in a Park City, Utah courtroom. The defendant was a rich, misunderstood, vagina-egg lovin? nepo baby and the plaintiff was a retired optometrist who sadly lost his ability to enjoy wine tastings. The media loved it. The people on social media loved it. A new set of memes and an appreciation for white turtlenecks and aviators was born.
I am, of course, referencing Gwyneth Paltrow?s ski accident trial. A quick recap: Gwyneth and her family were skiing in Park City back in 2016 when she collided with another skier, Terry Sanderson. Sanderson sued Paltrow for $3 million (later reduced to $300,000) in damages, claiming he?d suffered broken bones and lasting brain damage. The Goopster countersued for $1 in damages and the cost of legal fees. She won and told Sanderson, ?I wish you well,? on the way out. That this is a thing that happened still blows my mind. But, you know what this whole scenario really needed? A musical about it.
Audiences eager to revisit the peaks and valleys of Gwyneth Paltrow?s legal battle over a skiing accident should consider a trip to England, where a stage musical based on the much-publicized trial will premiere next month.
Set to open Dec. 13 at London?s Pleasance Theatre, ?Gwyneth Goes Skiing? is billed by theater company Awkward Productions as ?a story of love, betrayal, skiing, and (somehow) Christmas.?
Actor Linus Karp stars as Paltrow, while longtime collaborator Joseph Martin portrays Terry Sanderson, the retired optometrist who accused the Oscar winner and Goop founder of crashing into him on the slopes of Utah?s Deer Valley Resort in 2016.
Although the March trial ended in Paltrow?s favor, attendees will serve as the jury and ultimately decide the outcome in its theatrical counterpart.
?She?s the Goop-founding, Door-Sliding, Shakespeare-In-Loving, consciously-uncoupling Hollywood superstar,? a logline on Pleasance Theatre?s website reads. ?He?s a retired Optometrist from Utah. In 2016, they went skiing. On the slopes of Deer Valley, their worlds collided, and so did they ? literally. Ouch. Seven years later in 2023, they went to court. Double ouch.?
Though other specifics of the production are scarce, the show will feature music by singer-songwriter Leland, who has previously collaborated with Cher and Troye Sivan, among other pop artists.
On Wednesday, Leland teased his involvement with the show with a tongue-in-cheek post on X, the social platform formerly known as Twitter.
?Wait till you hear the 11 o?clock number,? he wrote.
Just how ?Gwyneth Goes Skiing? will fare with critics and theatergoers remains to be seen. However, it?s safe to say that the real-life case on which the musical is based became a televised, meme-ified spectacle that seems ripe for dramatic treatment.
Media coverage of the two-week trial was breathless. The New Yorker deemed it Paltrow?s ?best role in years,? noting that the actor had ?unabashedly leaned into every stereotype that has ever been used to label her, in a performance that rises to the level of Ryan Murphy-esque high camp.?

Okay, I know we don?t *need* a musical about The Great Ski and Run Trial of 2023, but I don?t care. I didn?t need that king-sized Kit Kat I just stole from my son?s Halloween basket but I enjoyed the hell out of it anyway. I don?t need to tell y?all that it?s been a rough almost-decade. I chose to find glee (see what I did there?) in something as absurd as this. I wonder if the 11 o?clock number is called ?I Wish You Well,? and if it will be a self-affirming solo or a duet between Goopy and Terry a la ?For Good? from Wicked. I also keep singing ?Roxie? from Chicago in my head. The name on everybody?s lips is gonna be?Gwyneth!
London-based peeps, you have to go to Gwyneth Goes Skiing and report back. My sister lives in London and no joke, I?m about to text her to go get tickets. I expect it to be just as campy, outrageous, and magical as the description makes it sound. Oh, I do hope that it becomes a cult classic and gets the Rocky Horror Picture Show treatment with people dressing up and calling things out with prompts. Man, what a time to be alive. Gwyneth Paltrow covers this week?s issue of People Magazine. She?s promoting multiple things, mainly the 15th anniversary of Goop and Goop?s new Target/Amazon beauty line, Good Clean Goop. This is like the third thing I?ve read or watched from Gwyneth as she looks down her nose at the peasants who want affordable beauty and skincare products. Every single time, she mentions the fact that she would have loved to put more ingredients better ingredients into the product line but they had to keep the costs down, so you?ll take what you can get and you?re welcome, peasants. That?s what she talks about in the People Mag cover story video, but in the print edition, she?s talking a lot about her 50s and being on the verge of having an empty nest.
Her 50s: ?I had the erroneous idea that I would be able to downshift a little bit. But life is very full-on. Its been very intense.?
The good.clean.goop product line: We felt passionate about creating clean, efficacious products at a more accessible price for a broader audience. They call it masstige in the industry. I love that word, between ?mass? and ?prestige.? So we set out to create this, and it?s been so much fun.?
Her marriage to Brad Falchuk: Shes cherishing the quieter moments at the Faltrow? residence, as she calls it. Moses is in his senior year of high school & Apple is already in college: Gwyneth says she prefers the term ?free birds? to empty-nesters. ?I?m trying to reframe it so that I can at least try to convince myself there?s some kind of a silver lining. Empty nest sounds so sad and lonely.?
New chapters: ?I believe that life, especially for women, comes in chapters. This is really going to be a new chapter for me.?

Back in the ?90s, if you told me that Gwyneth would practically give up acting in her 30s to focus on wellness, beauty lines and clothing lines, I would not have believed you. We would have called her a sellout too, but it?s interesting to think back on how ?selling out? was a mortal sin back then, and now everyone?s like, yay, sell out and make that money. As for ?free birds? rather than empty nesters? say what you will about Gwyneth (she?s an elitist ahole pushing pseudoscience on gullible rich women) but her kids turned out okay. I keep getting the impression that Gwyneth?s stepkids kind of hate her though. LOL.
