Here are some assorted photos of Nicole Kidman in NYC, following a performance of her play Photograph 51, plus some photos of Nicole in Milan for an Omega event. Nicole has been a brand ambassador for Omega for years, and to promote some new Omega product, Nicole sat down with DuJour Magazine ? you can read the full piece here. Much of it is boring, I have to say. I like Nicole and I wish her well, but I wish she would drop some juicier quotes during her promotional tours these days. Here are some of the more interesting highlights from this piece:
What she learned from her partnership with Omega: ?There was a time when women weren?t encouraged to wear watches, and there was even a time when the only way they really wore them was hidden in necklaces or underneath things. I love watches, especially those from the 1950s. I?ve always collected vintage jewelry and when I started working with the brand, I asked if they had vintage pieces and they did.?
She?s punctual: ?I?m very punctual. I so appreciate punctuality. It?s such a great thing when people actually show up on time and run accordingly. Being on time is a form of respect and good manners.?
She meditates: ?With one minute [of free time], I?ll daydream or meditate. I love just sitting quietly meditating. With an hour free, it depends. I love getting down on the floor and playing with my kids. I read an article that says it?s so important to actually get down on their level and play with them for an hour a day. So I do that, and I love that. It brings back the child in me.?
Her relationship with the internet, technology: ?I have four children, so to stay in touch with them is very important. I?m definitely engaged in it but I don?t let it rule my life. My husband and I never text each other. We never do. Once in a blue moon, we?ll text. But mainly we say, ?I want to hear your voice.? That?s very unusual but we?ve been together for 10 years. We started like that and we haven?t changed it. We don?t email each other either. So it?s about trying to keep it as intimate and personal as possible.?

Oh, I didn?t know that women used to be discouraged from wearing watches!! That?s so weird. That makes me want to wear a watch, although I haven?t worn one in years. I honestly hate watches (for me, I don?t care if anyone else wears one). I?m on the computer for hours and I hate having anything on my wrist, honestly. As for her comments about technology and texting? I?m not much of a texter, which makes me an old fart, I?m sure. So I understand what she?s saying about it just being easier to call Keith rather than text or email him. I also like that she says that she has four kids? because sometimes it seems like she forgets about Connor and Isabella (although to be fair, Connor and Isabella were brainwashed into believing Nicole was and is a suppressive person).

Now that Ariana Grande?s donut-licking, America-hating incident is safely behind her, she?s back to publicly insisting that she is never, ever a diva. Ha! While I think some of the stories about her diva ?tude might have been exaggerated, I really have to say that I believe Ariana has a terrible attitude, that she?s constantly mouthing off and that she might benefit from some media-training skills. There are simply too many stories ? plus that donut video ? about her rotten attitude and crappy personality. Still, Ariana tries to make us believe. Some highlights from Ariana?s V Magazine interview:
Being told she feels like an old soul: ?I take that as a compliment. I do feel like I?m an old soul. I don?t know why. My Kabbalah teacher, Ruthie, also tells me I?m a very old soul. So I believe it. I?ve been around the block.?
Whether she?s really a diva: ?It?s sort of the media?s job to make things up in order to keep their audience interested. In a way, I kind of understand them. But I don?t really look at the Internet anymore. The only reason I go on is to post things for my fans. I don?t read anything anymore because I came to an understanding that, okay, sometimes these people are going to say nice things, and sometimes they?re going to say fake things because they need to keep their readers curious and interested.?
Her love for the LGBTQ community: ?I mean, here?s the thing: I wasn?t raised in a household where it was considered abnormal to be gay. So for me to meet people who use the word ?fa–ot? as an insult, with a derogatory meaning, I can?t take it. I don?t understand it. It?s so foreign to me. I was raised in a household where being gay was like, the most normal thing. You know, my brother is gay, all of my best friends are gay. When my brother came out of the closet, it wasn?t a big deal for my family?It?s outrageous to me when I see people hate on someone because of their sexuality. I hate the intolerance. I hate the judgment. I hate it so much. Most of my favorite people in my life are gay. It?s something I?m super passionate about, because whenever I would see my friends get bullied, or my brother get hurt for his sexuality, I would become a raging lunatic. I would literally become a raging lunatic because I just can?t take it. When you see someone you love hurting, for such a superficial, bullsh-t reason, it?s like, how small and spiritually unenlightened and dumb as f–k can a person be? How much further can your head get up your ass that you?re actually judging someone as a person based on their sexuality before you even have a conversation with them?
She loves Madonna: ?I love Madonna. I met her a few times and she was so overwhelmingly kind and sweet, and down to earth, and motherly. She?s very, very maternal. I practice Kabbalah as well, so that was one of the first things she mentioned, because I had my Zohar in my pocket. She may have noticed, maybe not, but she brought it up. And we danced together at her Oscar party. That?s all I can ever ask for. She inspires me endlessly. I?m so inspired by her fearlessness?Like, this is me, and if you don?t like it, go f–k yourself.?
Using her sexuality in her career: ?Some days I feel more comfortable using sexuality in my work, and then some days I feel like being a little more reserved. I think that?s why I?m in the middle of this whole conversation of, what is she? Is she a good girl or is she a bad girl? I think that I?m both. I don?t need to be either. I don?t need to be a pop princess who is America?s sweetheart or the next rebellious, wild, young thing. I don?t need to pick or choose. I can show skin and swear like a sailor but also be a good role model. I think that I?m a good person. I don?t think cursing makes you a bad person. I don?t think showing skin or kissing boys makes you a bad person. I don?t think that expressing sexuality makes you a bad person at all. I don?t think that?s bad?I think it?s great! We need to encourage each other to do what we want and not let it totally define us. You know? The things that people think define them aren?t valid either.

I actually found myself agreeing with her about whether or not using her sexuality defines her as an artist or whether she?s selling a certain image. While I think it?s creepy to see someone so young-looking performing in lingerie-inspired looks, her attitude on this subject is on-point. As for her insistance that she doesn?t go on the internet and all the stories about her diva antics are completely false? yeah right, donut-licker.

Selena Gomez wore an unprecedented four outfits in London. Selena usually wears cute stuff, but she’s never been a major style junkie. This red dress is Preen, and it’s my favorite out of all of them. She also wore a structural white coatdress, which was beautiful. Then came a casual black jeans outfit with heels and a funky hat. There’s also one last outfit — a little black EDUN sweater dress with a red high-neck collar — which you can see at the Mail. All four of the outfits are polished and very grown up, which is a dual image Selena wants to present. That is, someone who is free from Swaggy and moving into adulthood.
Selena recently gave an interview to Extra about the body-shaming she endured. She says that episode inspired this new album:
On her Revival album: “I was getting a lot of hate for my body and ‘you’re gaining weight,’ and so I was in Mexico and I was just feeling all of this stuff and I would be lying to you if I said it didn’t kind of hurt my feelings, but I kind of channeled that into my music. I felt like everybody was saying so much and I’m like, ‘I need to say something…’ [The songs I wrote] on the record are ‘Survivors,’ ‘Kill ‘em with Kindness,’ and ‘Rise.’ It’s, it’s all geared towards me trying to be heard, and I think this is the best thing that I’ve ever done in my whole career and I’m so excited.”
She deleted Instagram from her phone: “I think it’s so hard, now more than ever… I’ve had to delete Instagram off my phone for a week and just kind of not get on it, ’cause it is crazy and I couldn’t imagine being 13 and dealing with it. My only compassion towards kids is like, ‘You can’t listen to it, you have to know that you’re made individually to be who you are and you should just be able to find your happiness.’ It’s so hard to say, ’cause I’ve been doing it myself, you know?”

Well, it sucks that Selena had to go through body shaming, but I’m not surprised it happened. The internet is so cruel, especially when it comes to women’s bodies. Selena looks stunning, and she’s always been beautiful. I’m more concerned with her staying healthy and away from Justin Bieber. She seems to do very well when he’s not influencing her, so I hope she stays strong. The stuff she says about social media’s effect on kids makes a lot of sense. I’m pretty scrupulous about checking out what my daughter does online because I don’t want her to see too much thigh gap nonsense (although she’s already seen some of it and brought it up).
Anyway, Selena’s fashion is on point in London, so which outfit is your favorite?
