Jennifer Lawrence knows how to take a breather from the spotlight, but she’s fixing to be everywhere for at least the rest of the year. If she receives her presumed Oscar nomination for Joy, then she’ll be in our faces for a few more months. I’m excited not only to see her but also see a bit of Internet implosion. JLaw makes an impression whether people like to admit it or not.
These are photos of Jennifer with Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth at the Grauman’s Chinese Theater hand (and foot) print ceremony. She was not wearing Dior! JLaw’s outfit was A.L.C. with a snug white shirt atop an asymmetrical flared skirt. This was sort of dressy casual, and I liked it. In addition, Jennifer didn’t have to worry about flashing the world when she bent over. Good call. While on the red carpet, she spoke with People about a lot of stuff including her op-ed about pay disparity between men and women:
On her equal pay essay: “I would love to straighten up that I wasn’t writing about not making as much as my male co-stars, as complaining about that I wasn’t getting paid more because I’m a woman.”
On fame: “Your entire world changes. Now it’s very easy for me because I’m isolated. I have a new normal now. I feel very stable, and normal, and happy, but it took a few years to get used to being looked at differently. It’s kind of an alienating feeling. You don’t feel different but everyone reacts to you differently. It was a few years of getting used to it. Then it was ‘OK, let’s get back to work’ and people react and can do whatever they want. That’s fine and it’s on them. I have a job. That’s how I think of it.”
She can’t take time off: “I remember there have been a few times where I would have loved time off. But I was very aware of how overwhelming these movies and this character was, and that was a big fear of mine signing on to these movies. I want people to be able to lose themselves when they’re watching a movie and not see the same character. I try to keep working so people can see other characters and other things I can do instead of taking vacation time, and now I’m aging like a president. I hate waking up without a goal or going to sleep without achieving nothing.”

She’s talked about fame before and how she had difficulty coping despite knowing that she could potentially reach a Twilight level of insanity. But JLaw learned how to disappear and make the best of things. As for aging like a president? This is a harmless joke, but some will likely take offense. I completely understand what she’s saying though. Lack of sleep feels terrible if that’s what she’s dealing with. Granted, she’s making many millions of dollars, so JLaw isn’t like one of us peasants who work the same amount of hours for normal-people lives. I admit accepting this statement from Jennifer because she’s one of my favorites. Is she complaining, or was this just an offhand comment?

Here are some photos from the 29th American Cinematheque Award honoring Reese Witherspoon. If you?re anything like me, you thought to yourself, ?Damn, they?re giving those lifetime achievement awards pretty early these days.? But while the American Cinematheque Award used to be more of a lifetime-achievement thing, in recent years they?ve been trying to give it to actors in ?mid-career.? Some previous honorees include Matthew McConaughey (who was on hand to present the award to Reese), Matt Damon, Samuel L. Jackson, Robert Downey Jr. and more. Reese is the first female honoree since Julia Roberts got the award in 2007, so YAY for ladies, I guess. The event is actually a fundraising gala, so there?s that too.
Many of Reese?s friends and colleagues came out to support her, like Matthew, Alexander Payne, Kate Hudson, Jennifer Aniston, Sofia Vergara, Jennifer Garner, Laura Dern and more. The emphasis was on Reese?s role as a woman in the industry, with McConaughey saying something about Reese?s ?powerful femininity,? and Hudson calling Reese a ?true, modern-day feminist.? When Reese accepted her award, she said:
?Women make up 50 percent of the population and we should be playing 50 percent of the roles on the screen. We need more female surgeons, supreme court justices and soldiers ? but on screen. Not just as the girlfriends to famous men.?

That?s somewhat awkwardly worded. I would say, ?We need more female surgeons, Supreme Court justices, soldiers in real life AND on screen, in artistic representation and real life.? Feminism isn?t just about putting more cute blonde ladies in front of the camera, you know.
I?m including some photos from the red carpet below. Jennifer Garner looked crazy-Botoxed, right? Reese?s gown was Dolce & Gabbana, by the way. Very pretty, but I feel like she?s worn that same gown about ten times in the past two years. Also: Ava Phillippe is basically Reese?s clone. A clone with Pink hair!

Lots of big stars came out for Saturday evening’s Casamigos Halloween party. Hosts Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber dressed as Hell’s Angels. There’s some speculation that they could have gone the Sons of Anarchy route, but I don’t think so. Gemma Teller Morrow never dressed in shorty shorts, and Rande has a “President” label on his jacket, but I don’t think he’s going for the Clay Morrow vibe. These costumes are better than their Guns N’ Roses set from 2013, but they always have fun with the holiday. One notable omission from the party was George Clooney. Where was Rande’s best buddy at this weekend? In all fairness, Amal doesn’t seem like someone who would embrace a Halloween party.
Paris Hilton dressed up as a sexy warrior lady who was not quite Xena, and Nicky Hilton decided to wear a questionable Native American costume. Well, it wouldn’t be Halloween if someone didn’t appropriate a culture.
Gwen Stefani came to the party as a bloodied cowgirl, which surely won’t do anything to stop those Blake Shelton romance rumors, especially since Blake was there too. He was dressed as a giant poncho, but hey, it works.
Julianne Hough dressed up as Alabama Worley from True Romance, and her friend dressed up as Clarence. I love Alabama!
Seth MacFarlane brought his funnyman routine as a headless Chewbacca. Er, make that Chewbacca with a MacFarlane head.
Jennifer Meyer was Wednesday Addams, which is always a safe bet on Halloween. This is a costume brimming with nostalgia and one that will not offend a soul.

These are some photos from The Casamigos Halloween party, held by Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber Saturday night in Beverly Hills. Bedhead has more photos from the party here. My favorite couple of the night were Josh Duhamel and Fergie, who cleverly dressed as Karl Lagerfeld and his beloved Siamese, Choupette. This is an inspired costume choice and it makes me wonder how they came up with it. They accessorized with plenty of Chanel, of course. Brilliant!
My second favorite couple was probably Channing Tatum and his wife, Jenna Dewan, who went as a traditional Cat in The Hat and a sexy Cat in The Hat. A sexy Cat in The Hat seems rather boring to me, but at least it’s inoffensive.
Speaking of offensive, here’s Harry Hamlin and Lisa Rinna. Harry is dressed as the late Sid Vicious from the Sex Pistols and Lisa is his combative heroin addict girlfriend, Nancy. Harry stupidly chose to replicate Sid’s red Nazi swastika t-shirt. He would have been more recognizable with a “God Save The Queen” shirt or something that said Sex Pistols on it, but he wanted to be controversial. Note that the symbol on Harry’s shirt isn’t a true Nazi swastika, it’s not rotated to the side like that version, it’s closer to the original benign Hindu and Buddhist symbol, but it’s styled to look like the Nazi one. This is easily recognized as some kind of twisted homage to the Nazi symbol while being oriented in a way that doesn’t make it an actual Nazi symbol. It’s obnoxious and Hamlin should have known better.
The next day Hamlin went out in a red shirt with a peace symbol on it.
Let’s move on Elisabetta Canalis in a Che Guevara costume, complete with thigh high boots and a machine gun. If you’re going to dress as a famous male, commit to it. Don’t do “sexy,” you’re supposed to be a guy! Wear a beard, wear loose dirty clothes and actually look like the person. That was not the objective here obviously. Canalis had a baby four weeks ago and she wants us to know how hot she looks now. It’s weird to me that Clooney’s ex was invited to this party though. She must still be friendly with Crawford and Gerber. Canalis seems more Crawford’s speed than Amal, you know what I mean? (Update: While The Daily Mail reports that Canalis is dressed as Che Guevara, she’s possibly wearing a Patty Hearst costume, which would make more sense.)
Here’s Jessica Alba as Romy (Mira Sorvino) from Romy and Michelle’s High School Reunion. Her friend Kelly Sawyer was Michelle. I love this idea!
