Taylor Swift?s The Tortured Poets Department leaked earlier this week, but as it turns out, people were only hearing about half of the album. Taylor gave her fans a heart attack with a ?2 am surprise? TTPD is a ?secret double album? full of two years? worth of ?tortured poetry.? From what little I?ve seen, the bulk of the album seems to be about Joe Alwyn and Matt Healy, maybe more songs about Healy than her fans were expecting. Here?s Taylor?s message to her fans:
The Tortured Poets Department. An anthology of new works that reflect events, opinions and sentiments from a fleeting and fatalistic moment in time one that was both sensational and sorrowful in equal measure. This period of the author?s life is now over, the chapter closed and boarded up. There is nothing to avenge, no scores to settle once wounds have healed. And upon further reflection, a good number of them turned out to be self-inflicted. This writer is of the firm belief that our tears become holy in the form of ink on a page. Once we have spoken our saddest story, we can be free of it.
And then all that?s left behind is the tortured poetry.

Swifties are having a really hard time defending this. Healy is not a golden retriever! Charlie Puth has talked sh-t about Selena Gomez! She also references Healy apparently threatening to self-harm: Sometimes I wonder if youre gonna screw this up with me/ But you told Lucy youd kill yourself if I ever leave.? The ?Lucy? in question is likely boygenius Lucy Dacus.
And here?s the first single from the album, a collab with Post Malone (who also collab?d with Beyonce on Cowboy Carter?s ?Levii?s Jeans?). This is okay?
Like? I?m never the target audience for Taylor?s music, but I agree with some of the Swifties that a lot of this sounds like rejects from Midnights? I?m sure there are some gems on TTPD and there will be some fan-faves. But I wonder if Taylor is sort of in a musical rut with Jack Antonoff producing everything?

A couple days after the Golden Globes, Selena Gomez posted a pic on Instagram of her reading Linda Ronstadt?s memoir, Simple Dreams. Shortly after that the news became official: Selena will play Linda in an upcoming biopic. Was the timing of the announcement a way to shift the conversation from what Selena may or may not have been gossiping about at the Globes? I don?t know, I doubt it, and ultimately I don?t care because I friggin? love this casting! The project is in pre-production and doesn?t even have a confirmed title yet, but Variety still assembled some details for us:
Selena Gomez will play Linda Ronstadt in an upcoming biopic, Variety has confirmed.
The pop singer and ?Only Murders in the Building? star teased the role Tuesday night by posting a picture of Ronstadt?s 2013 memoir ?Simple Dreams? on her Instagram story.
The music biopic is currently in pre-production, with producers including Ronstadt?s manager, John Boylan, and James Keach, who produced the 2019 documentary ?Linda Ronstadt: The Sound of My Voice.?
No other casting has been announced.
Ronstadt is a country, rock ?n? roll and Latin music legend, with her 1970s albums ?Heart Like a Wheel? and ?Simple Dreams? reaching critical and commercial success and showcasing her versatility across genres. Throughout her career she has won 11 Grammys, and she was honored by both the Recording Academy and the Latin Recording Academy with Lifetime Achievement Awards.
Ronstadt and Gomez are both of Mexican descent. The latter has been nominated twice for a Golden Globe for her performance on Hulu?s ?Only Murders in the Building,? which she executive produces and stars in alongside Steve Martin and Martin Short. Gomez broke out as an actor on Disney?s ?Wizards of Waverly Place? and achieved success as a music artist with hits like ?Lose You to Love Me? and ?Love You Like a Love Song.?
Ronstadt?s 2019 doc was directed by Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman and chronicled the artist?s nearly five-decade career and domination of the country-rock genre. In 2011, Ronstadt announced her retirement, later revealing she is no longer able to sing due to her progressive supranuclear palsy, which was originally mistaken for Parkinson?s.

Yeah, I?m a fan of this casting, as aforementioned. Selena?s got the stature, the frame, and facial features that align with Linda?s, so fingers crossed for no prosthetics. And I imagine Selena will do her own singing? What always stunned me with Linda Ronstadt was how that massive voice emerged from such a petite person. She really shaped her performances, too, with very intentionally quiet moments set against big releases of emotion. A particular favorite Linda song of mine is the ballad ?Long Long Time,? which I hope we get to see Selena recreate. And I bet she?s gonna look groovy in the 70s and 80s costumes. Very excited for this one! So, who will be cast as former boyfriend CA Governor Jerry Brown? Not Timothe Chalamet, LOL.

Selena Gomez has had a cooking show, Selena + Chef, on HBO Max for four seasons. Each episode featured Selena learning how to cook from a different professional chef. It was really enjoyable and Selena is quite endearing. Its unclear what the fate of that show will be now that HBO is becoming Max and seemingly reshuffling everything, but it seems she has parlayed that random show into more cooking show gigs. Selena will be hosting two new shows on the Food Network later this year and early next.
On May 17, Food Network announced two new projects set to be hosted by the ?Only Murders in the Building? star. The news was shared during the Warner Bros. Discovery upfronts and marks Gomez?s first foray into the Food Network universe.
The first Gomez-helmed culinary program will debut on the channel in late 2023 and is described as a ?celebration-focused series? that will come just in time for the holiday season. (And we know how much Food Network loves the holidays.)
?The holidays are always huge for Food Network,? said Kathleen Finch, chairman and chief content officer of U.S. networks for Warner Bros. Discovery. ?Having Selena kicking off the nearly 100 hours of new and returning holiday programming will certainly make this coming season one to celebrate.?
Then, in 2024, Gomez will also start working on another new series that will feature the actor, singer and host meeting up with ?some of the best chefs in the country? in a quest to cook their most popular dishes during visits to their kitchens.
Gomez makes the move to Food Network fresh off her Emmy-nominated HBO Max series, ?Selena + Chef.? First conceived during the pandemic, Gomez was joined remotely by well-regarded chefs to school her on signature dishes to see if they could ?make a meal together, apart,? according to the star.
Welcoming food icons like Padma Lakshmi, Roy Choi and Gordon Ramsay, Gomez proved to be a heartwarming and relatable host. Over four seasons, she fielded calls from ?cute? boys, was flustered by culinary techniques like we all have been at times, and other funny moments.
The series became a hit, premiering its fourth Malibu-filmed season in August 2022. Both Food Network and HBO Max are owned by Warner Bros. Discovery. The pair of new Gomez projects will be produced by July Moon Productions and the Intellectual Property Corporation.

Ah, so Warner Bros. Discovery owning both networks might answer that question about a fifth season of Selena + Chef. Theyre being quite vague about the celebration series for later this year, but Food Network does well with the holiday themes. I wonder if it will be something New York-based, maybe a little tie-in with Only Murders since thats such a cozy fall show and New York City around Christmas time is also super festive and nice. The 2024 series is more straightforward and just seems to be turning the concept of Selena + Chef on its head. Instead of being in her kitchen, shes going to the kitchens of professional chefs to learn their signature dishes. I wonder if there will be any repeat guests from Selena + Chef. Anyway, both these shows sound good. Selena continues to make good career decisions and is expanding her profile.

After watching Selena Gomezs documentary and reading her Rolling Stone feature, I didnt think there was any newsworthy interpersonal drama in there, but here we are. In the Rolling Stone article, Selena discusses her fears around the fact that she is not yet married with children at her age. And it was hard to share these fears with people whose lives hadn?t been derailed by fame, even as, she says, I never fit in with a cool group of girls that were celebrities. My only friend in the industry really is Taylor [Swift], so I remember feeling like I didn?t belong. I felt the presence of everyone around me living full lives.' My read was, on that topic, Selena felt she couldnt relate to normal people who had those things, or to her peers who didnt.
Of course, various stories, mine included, noticed that Taylor Swift mention. Francia Raisa, the actress who donated her kidney to Selena in 2017, took issue with the headline and commented/deleted interesting on an E! News post. Selena then commented on a TikTok recap about the situation: Sorry I didnt mention every person I know. Yikes.
Selena Gomez is speaking out over drama being stirred on social media and a possible feud with friend Francia Raisa, who donated her kidney to the singer.
The drama was first sparked by a cover interview Gomez did with Rolling Stone in which she talked about feeling like a bit of an outcast in the music business.
I never fit in with a cool group of girls that were celebrities. My only friend in the industry really is Taylor [Swift], so I remember feeling like I didn?t belong, Gomez shared.
A select portion of that quote My only friend in the industry really is Taylor [Swift] was then shared on Instagram as a highlight of the interview. Raisa then posted a since-deleted comment that read, simply and cryptically, Interesting.
When one TikTok user shared a video breaking down the supposed drama including the fact that Raisa does not follow Gomez on Instagram Gomez herself took to the comments of that TikTok video to address the supposed friction.
Sorry I didn?t mention every person I know, Gomez commented.
Raisa and Gomez have been friends for nearly 15 years, and Raisa donated her kidney to Gomez who needed a transplant due to her battle with lupus in September 2017.
However, on top of the drama surrounding Gomezs interview quote, fans were also quick to point out that Raisa is not mentioned in the recently released documentary, My Mind and Me, which details Gomezs struggles with mental health issues over the past six years.

So, I didnt think Selenas initial statement about Taylor Swift was an intended or unintended slight. And thats with me knowing she got a kidney transplant from Francia Raisa from Secret Life of the American Teenager/grownish/How I Met Your Father. When I read it, my immediate thought was yeah, that tracks because Selena doesnt seem to run in those young Hollywood (or I guess millennial Hollywood) circles anymore, mostly since her breakup with Biebs. I thought of her statement as referring to people with the same kind of public profile as her, which Taylor does have; and which her other known celeb friends, like Cara Delevingne and Francia Raisa, definitely dont. And its possible she thinks of Francia as more than an industry friend. Who among us doesnt have work friends, school friends, workout friends, mom friends, friend friends, etc?
That said, Selenas clapback was an absolutely terrible look. She and Francia have reportedly had their ups and downs since the transplant and Francia obviously felt hurt to comment what she did. But Selenas defensive sniping turned what should have just been a statement taken out of context into unseemly drama. Her response was not to Francia directly it was on the TikTok that someone else made about Francia commenting on the E! News post and unfollowing Selena and who knows whether or not theyve talked privately, but that seems to be getting a bit lost in the coverage. Selena was possibly annoyed that the focus was on this and not the mental health messages from her documentary, but giving this more oxygen with her rude comment was just bad and contradicts her messaging. I really like Selena, but one thing thats always bugged me is how sanitized her overall public image is, when we know she does sh-tty stuff like this sometimes. Part of being honest and transparent is recognizing when youre a jerk and owning up to your mistakes, instead of just glossing over it.

Selena Gomezs Apple TV+ documentary, Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me, premiered on Friday. And to prepare us, she did a detailed interview with Rolling Stone that dropped the day before the doc. The feature explores the main points from her recent history, her motivations and the process behind creating the documentary, as well as what shes hoping to achieve. Selenas goal was to use her platform for good to show her struggles with mental health and destigmatize talking about it.
Shes been open about her physical and mental health struggles, and believes mental health should be discussed freely. And in the doc Selena really walks the walk: its very raw and affecting and relatable for those who have struggled with their own mental health, despite some of her issues being specific to her career. It was even more transparent than I expected from what she said: she cries a lot, shes in bed a lot, scenes are interspersed with her reading aloud journal entries. I was already a Selena fan and came away from the doc liking and relating to her even more. Some highlights from her Rolling Stone interview:
On her wedding 30th birthday party: This summer, Gomez turned 30 and threw herself a party. ?I thought I would be married by now, so I threw myself a wedding,? she clarifies wryly. She invited people who had been important parts of her twenties, whether she was still close to them or not. She wanted to celebrate that time, and also celebrate that it was behind her.
On the documentary and how she almost pulled it: The cameras do not stop rolling, and the next hour-plus provides one of the least sugarcoated explorations of mental illness one is likely to find on film. There are scenes in which Gomez is unable to get out of bed, scenes of her lashing out at friends, scenes of her roaming her house aimlessly, scenes of her coming apart in the middle of a press tour, contemptuously responding to the media circus when she isn?t seeming to disassociate entirely. The documentary is so raw that Gomez almost didn?t sign off on its release. ?Because I have the platform I have, it?s kind of like I?m sacrificing myself a little bit for a greater purpose. I don?t want that to sound dramatic, but I almost wasn?t going to put this out. God?s honest truth, a few weeks ago, I wasn?t sure I could do it.?
On mental health and her bipolar diagnosis: ?I?m going to be very open with everybody about this: I?ve been to four treatment centers,? Gomez tells me now. ?I think when I started hitting my early twenties is when it started to get really dark, when I started to feel like I was not in control of what I was feeling, whether that was really great or really bad.? Her highs and lows would last weeks or months at a time, prompted by nothing she could put her finger on. She never actually attempted suicide, but spent a few years contemplating it. ?I thought the world would be better if I wasn?t there,? she says matter-of-factly.
On living in New York and whats next: In three weeks? time, she would be moving to New York, where the third season of Only Murders would start filming in January. Gomez was lured to New York by the prospect of being back in a city where people more frequently just leave her alone. ?But if I?m honest, my schedule in New York is the crme de la crme. I have my system there, I have my workouts there, I have my coffee spots there. I get to walk and breathe there, and be inspired by New York City and the people and the life there.? She plans to take Spanish lessons, in preparation for a Spanish-language movie she?ll be filming this summer. She plans to have some writing sessions, round out the 24 songs she?s already written for her next album, which she says she may start recording by the end of the year.

Though the article focuses mostly on the making of the documentary and the feelings behind it, there are some other tidbits in there like the one about her birthday party. At a couple of points Selena has said thought shed be married with kids by now and feels like a failure for not doing so. Even in the doc she reiterated the sentiment that she just wants to be a mom and have a family and be normal. But the article notes that she is aware she likely wont be able to carry her own children due to the medication shes on to manage her bipolar diagnosis. She also says Taylor Swift is her only friend in the industry and she doesnt fit into any group of celebrity friends.
Selenas upcoming projects, like the Spanish-language movie and new music, sound promising. The new song released in conjunction with the documentary is pretty good. Its nice that Only Murders is such a bright spot for her as it is for the rest of us. It sounds like New York is a good place for her, especially considering the anxiety she expressed throughout the documentary about certain facets of her job and celebrity life. Its pace is misleading and New York is actually a really good place to catch your breath. Though apparently she lives on the Upper East Side, which is probably a good move considering all that happens at the Arconia.

Selena Gomez is turning 30 this year. That shocks me. Not for any reason other than she?s just been on my radar for so long, I cant believe shes still in her 20s. But I started watching her on Wizards of Waverly Place when my kids were watching it, so yeah, I?m the one who needs to catch up. Anyway, 30 is a pretty big milestone. It?s probably a huge one for a woman in Hollywood, especially a former child star. But Selena told her Hotel Transylvania: Transformania co-star Andy Samberg that she?s really excited to enter her 30s. That?s a switch for Selena who admitted that when she was younger, she was afraid of growing older.
Selena Gomezs 30th birthday is still six months away, but the star is already looking forward to the milestone.
In a joint interview with her Hotel Transylvania: Transformania costar Andy Samberg featured in this weeks issue of PEOPLE, on newsstands Friday, Gomez ? whose birthday is on July 22 ? opened up about how excited she is about stepping into a new decade.
I love growing up, Gomez said. When I was younger, I was scared of it, and I thought by now my life would look so different. But now Im like, Wow, this is not what I ever expected, and I couldnt be more thrilled. Ive stopped caring about what people have to say, and thats been wonderful.
After a decade of voicing Count Draculas vampire daughter Mavis in the franchise, Gomez said it feels bittersweet to have to say goodbye.
Im a little sad, she said. But weve had a great time. I was 20 when we did the first film, and now Im about to be 30, so its pretty wild. A lot has changed for me in a lot of good ways.

I?m happy Selena is at this point in time to embrace her 30s. I couldn?t wait to grow up so approaching my 30s and 40s didn?t worry me. Which is a good thing because those decades are amazing. But I know it?s not the same for everyone. My husband had, not a fear per se, but trepidation about getting older. Hes found peace with aging as he?s established himself, much like Selena. (Coincidently, he is also a July Leo. I?m not saying that?s a factor, but I?m not saying it?s not a factor.)
Given her health issues, Selena?s 30th birthday was not a guarantee. So I?ll bet she?s welcoming each decade as the gift it is. We all should. Plus she?s branching out. She took a leap with her series, Only Murders in the Building. She making new music, her latest Latin pop album earned her her first Grammy nomination. No wonder Selena is looking forward to the next decade, it feels like she?s finally living it on her terms and not under someone else?s thumb. Or maybe it?s because she?s dating Chris Evans?

Selena Gomez is back! Selena will just disappear for months at a time in recent years, and then she?ll just show up with some new project, then she goes away again. Her latest project is Only Murders in the Building, which is on Hulu. It?s a 10-episode ?season? or perhaps a stand-alone miniseries, I?m not sure. Steve Martin created it, and he stars alongside Martin Short and Selena. They?ve just started promoting it and Selena is talking a lot about her big return to ?television? after her child-acting days with Wizards of Waverly Place.
Selena Gomez?s new work with Hulu is a far cry from her Disney Channel days. The multi-hyphenate is starring in the streamer?s forthcoming ?Only Murders in the Building? opposite Steve Martin and Martin Short and said during the TCA Summer 2021 Tour that she gravitated toward the role because of its maturity.
?I signed my life away to Disney at a very young age and I didn?t know what I was doing,? she said. ?What I?d say is the level of sophistication of the material is the first reason why I wanted to do this.?
Now 29, Gomez admitted she acted just like a kid would while working on Disney Channel?s ?Wizards of Waverly Place.?
?I was just running around on set,? she added. Gomez hasn?t been on the set of a TV show since ?Wizards of Waverly Place? ended in 2012, so she joked she?s a ?sponge? trying to ?soak up all the wisdom? from her comedy-legend co-stars. ?It?s really nice to be back on TV and it?s nice to be cast as my actual age, which never happens,? And knowing what we know about Selena?s background, I would say that there?s a lot of truth to the statement ?I signed my life away to Disney at a very young age and I didn?t know what I was doing.? Disney just chewed up so many of these kids and it?s absolutely true that many of them do feel like they ?signed their lives away.?
This show looks kind of cute? I adore Martin Short I wonder if Selena even understands that she?s sharing the screen with two of the biggest comedic legends in the world.

Selena Gomez hosted one of the All In Challenge?s Voting Power Hours over the weekend. Power Hours allows fans to call in and speak to that night?s celebrity host about voting in return for agreeing to text at least three friends to tune in. I watched chunks of Selena?s Power Hour, it?s a good initiative and very well designed for the demographic. The first few minutes shows trivia on the screen like a movie theater does before the previews and it?s all based on voting ? from the last election?s stats to historical referendums and why we vote when we do ?it was probably my favorite part of the whole thing. Selena, who signed on as a co-chair to Michelle Obama?s When We All Vote Initiative last November, has been very vocal about getting folks out to vote this year. She used Juneteenth to implore fans to register because, ?Everyone needs to have their voices heard.? During her Power Hour, though, one fan asked Selena, who turned 28 in July, to recount her first voting experience and Selena said that this (she filled out her mail in ballot) is her first time voting, because it?s the first time she felt her vote mattered.
Selena Gomez admitted this weekend during her Voting Power Hour appearance that this is her first time voting in a U.S. election because in the past, she felt like her vote didnt matter. (Gomez lives in California, a solidly blue state.)
Sam, a 20-year-old super texter in Michigan, asked Gomez about her first voting experience. She responded candidly, Honestly, I?m not ashamed to say this but I kind of?this was my first time. And I?m going to say that because I never felt?and this is so true?and I?m now like admitting it to people, like my vote counts. Like, every little thing counts so I just think some people get in their head, like, oh well, what does it matter? And then once I really, really started going in and diving in to this, it?s been all I can focus on.

A 28-year-old woman today has skipped two national elections. Not to mention senatorial, congressional, gubernatorial, mayoral, state and local elections. During Selena?s introduction comments with Damian Chazelle, she claims that she has always seen herself as an activist because she has been a UNICEF ambassador since she was 16. Kaiser forwarded me these articles, both of which have Selena encouraged people to register to vote, in 2008, when she was 16 and in 2012, an election year, in which she would have been 20. Selena has some political interests about which she is passionate. She made the Living Undocumented series for Netflix to shed light on the plight of immigrant life in the US. Plus, she?s been a big advocate for mental health. And I?d hoped she?d consider the fight for universal healthcare to assist those with pre-existing conditions given her health struggles. CB reminded me that in 2017, Selena was happy to sport some Nasty Woman fashion post-Grammys after not saying much during the election.
At this point, we do need every voice. Its good that Selena is getting the vote out now. I am taken aback that she?s not ashamed that she didnt vote in 2016 given where we are now. I?ve voted in every election since 1988 (also in solidly blue California, thankyouverymuch) and I?m ashamed of some of those votes. I?ve become more informed, more aware. I?ve also felt like my vote wouldn?t count on several occasions. But I also knew it might count on at least some issues and for the candidates down ballot. I hope Selena keeps her fervor into the next election and I hope she takes the time to inform those around her that every election matters. We didn?t magically arrive at this hellscape we live in.

I was going to give this to Oya because she?s been so great at covering these (see her Alexandria Ocasio Cortez, Kat Graham and Rihanna videos plus she?s a legit makeup artist) but then I watched the video and really wanted to talk about it. Plus Oya just covered Selenas cute video with Nikkie from Nikkie Tutorials. In her Vogue video Selenas skin looks so dewy and her makeup is so gorgeous afterwards! Selena is promoting her Rare Beauty makeup line, which is available on her website. (Not a paid promotion)
First of all, Selena is quite young so her skin is lovely but she also takes good care of it. She achieves this kind of aspirational glowy look that I?d love to copy. I don?t watch enough YouTube makeup tutorials because I find them intimidating honestly. When I do watch them they seem complicated and I feel like I have to buy so many products. So this helped me a lot. For face makeup she uses foundation and then liquid blush on her cheekbones followed by bronzer then highlighter. I haves similar products except for liquid blush, which I just bought. Everyone is talking about her technique for doing a perfect cat eye, which is just to outline the corners first then fill them in. That?s at 7 minutes into the video below, but for me the takeaway is her gorgeous face work. (A lot of that is beauty, genetics and youth but I?m still going to try.)

She has dry skin with acne in her t-zone.
She uses Tacha The Dewy Skin cream.
She follows that with The Drunk Elephant sunscreen. She needs to avoid the sun due to her lupus.
She uses her Rare Beauty line?s weightless foundation and concealer. She follows that with their liquid blush.
She uses Benefit Hoola bronzer to frame her face and under her chin.
Her eyeshadow palette is by Marc Jacobs. She then uses her Rare Beauty liquid eyeliner.
She applies her Rare Beauty Liquid Luminizer under her eyes and on her nose and in the little middle area above her lips. Then she blots with her Touch and Go kit and applies powder with a puff to set.
She uses one of her lip souffles in red and then a refresher spray.

I?m going to copy Oya?s format here and mention that my highlighter is Charlotte Tillbury?s Hollywood Flawless Filter, which is insanely expensive. That?s one of the products I just had to have after watching a makeup tutorial by Hot and Flashy, which is why I avoid YouTube tutorials so I wont buy all the things. There are plenty of other liquid highlighters that are less expensive and surely look just as nice, like L?oreal Lumi Glotion. Watching this inspired me to buy a liquid blush. Before this I only tried Elfs. It was too highly pigmented and I ended up looking like a clown so I threw it out. L?oreal Liquid Lift Blur looks really nice. Maybelline Cheek Heat is really inexpensive and I actually bought some in Nude Burn after watching this video. It adds a nice sheen and it was under $6, but it just adds a hint of color its not like regular blush. However I have to put it in the regular area on my cheeks. It looks weird when I put it on my cheekbones like Selena.
As for Selena?s thoughts on beauty and makeup, I felt like I really got to know her in this video. There?s something so intimate and relatable about women explaining their routines. She said makeup is important to her as it?s part of mental health. It?s ?part of your self esteem. Its a part of how you see yourself and you shouldnt have to have makeup for you to see yourself that way, but makeup isnt a joke. Its actually beautiful and its wonderful and it brings people together. I have so much respect for that community because it really is art.? YES! This is why I wear makeup every day and why I?ve worn it even in lockdown. Some people call that insecurity, but it makes me feel so much better about myself and like I?m ready for anything. Theres a ceremony and an art to getting ready. Plus you never know when you?re going to videochat now. Also Im going to wear red lips today, Ive decided.

Selena Gomez, a Latinx Disney princess in her own right, has been making the rounds to promote her new makeup line Rare Beauty. Its been getting a lot of great reviews from the beauty community.
Selena recently did a collaboration video with popular influencer Nikkie Tutorials. They had a girly chat while trying out Selenas new product line. In the video, Selena gets really personal about her dating life in quarantine and how all of her exes think shes crazy. Here is more from the conversation, via Just Jared
?It?s hard [to find a man] in quarantine,? she said while doing her makeup in the clip, adding that it?s ?not an invitation? for anyone to ask her out.
?It?s just funny that I release things that say I want a boyfriend and stuff?and I?m like, ?I didn?t really mean it, though.? Guys are a lot of work,? she continued.
She also supplied rare commentary on her ex-boyfriends, saying: ?Every one of my exes thinks I?m crazy?I don?t care.?

I am in the age group that was too old to grow up with Selena on Disney and I really didnt pay much attention to her until recently. Watching her on this video just made me fall in love with my Texas sister. I love that her voice is super deep and raspy. She is just so cute but you can also tell mama dont take no sh*t.
I enjoyed her camaraderie with Nikkie as well. She said at some point that she thinks she likes Nikkie. It was a cute, uplifting video and gave many people who are not familiar with Selena a person a glimpse into her personality.
As far as her exes thinking shes crazy, many men call independent, not easily controlled women crazy. Ive been called crazy several times in my dating life. It is a word some men throw around to gaslight strong women. So dont feel bad Selena, keep it moving and find a man who not only loves your quirks but also who celebrates that strong independent spirit.
