Several months ago, it was Vanessa Hudgens? turn to be the female star of child-bearing age to face pregnancy speculation. Vanessa and Cole Tucker got married back in early December in Mexico. Before the wedding, Vanessa?s friends threw her a bachelorette party in Aspen. After the weekend was over, she put together an Instagram post with shots of her wearing baggy clothing, an oversized sweatshirt and long coats. You know, because they were in Aspen. In late October. In one of the shots in which she?s wearing a more tight-fit outfit with a long white coat, fans went into overdrive, trying to analyze whether or not she had a baby bump. They did this despite there also being a video clip of her popping champagne. This week, Vanessa appeared on Emily Tisch Sussman?s ?She Pivots? podcast. During her interview, she talked a little bit about those ?rude? rumors and how they made her feel.
Im sorry, I dont wear Spanx every day, and am a real woman and have a real body, she leveled. Im literally celebrating one of the happiest times of my life, and you guys are just gonna make me feel fat. Thats great. Thanks.
Hudgens went on to reference the four agreements women should abide by.
One of them is dont make assumptions?in all aspects of life, but especially over other womens bodies, she said. We deal with so much with other people trying to control our bodies, not lets not make assumptions over other womens bodies as well.?
The Disney Channel alum spoke out about the commentary on her body at the time it was happening.
Not pregnant so yall can stop,? she stated in the comment section of her Instagram post.

Vanessa is completely right about this. It?s time to stop making assumptions about women?s bodies because you don?t know what they?re going through and no one, even celebrities, is immune from bloat, swelling, cellulite, etc. al. It must be so stressful thinking you have to wear Spanx out in public every day just to maintain a certain body image. Kudos to Vanessa for speaking out about how those comments make people feel.
I think most of us will agree that in 2024, the celebrity ?bump watch? is weird and outdated. Sure, sometimes a lower-list celeb craves some tabloid attention and does a ?hand on the belly? pose to purposefully generate speculation. But overall, making an assumption based on what a womans body looks like can make her feel bad (like Vanessa) or put her in an uncomfortable situation (see: Mariah Carey?s appearance on Ellen, which is still one of the grossest things I?ve ever seen on TV). There?s plenty of bad behavior and unfortunate outfits out there that we can gossip and talk sh-t about.

Theres hope yet for those of us looking for love in the time of COVID. Who knows, that random online yoga class may lead to true love. At least that is what happened for Vanessa Hudgens and her new beau, Pittsburgh Piratess shortstop, Cole Tucker. Supposedly, Vanessa and Tucker got the googly eyes for each other in a Zoom meditation group last year. I guess they connected over their love of meditation and the rest is history. Their romance started in November but Vanessa and Tucker didnt make their relationship Instagram official until Valentines Day. Vanessa told Entertainment Tonight about her random hookup:
In a new interview with ET, the 32-year-old actress reveals she and her new boyfriend actually first connected over Zoom. The two were first spotted together last November, and went Instagram official on Valentines Day.
Me and Cole met on a Zoom meditation group. Very random, yes, Hudgens tells ETs Katie Krause. Zoom, youve got to love it.
Hes just kind of perfect for me. I am [happy]. I really am, she continues. I think that its also so important to stay grateful for everything that you have in life. Ive been making that a priority, and I feel like its just been making magic happen all the more.

Listen, Vanessa has a penchant for dating super hot men (Zac Efron, Austin Butler) and Tucker Cole is not bad on the eyes at all. Anyways, I need to know how these women manifest these men in the most random ways. I literally teach an online yoga and meditation class and a man showing up for the class is the rarest of occasions. Not to be thirsty but perhaps Vanessas luck will extend to those of us who lost a year of dating and smutting all over town (it was a rough year for some of us singletons).
Scrolling through their Instagram feeds, they seem to be really into each other. I personally love to celebrate love. Despite the side eye I have been giving Vanessa since last years COVID meltdown, I wish her luck with her new fella. Speaking of COVID, hopefully the two stuck to protocols while getting to know each other and didnt take unnecessary risks. But then again, this is Vanessa some of us will die Hudgens. I do like that the two took their time before officially confirming their relationship. It is nice to hold something close to your vest before telling others about it. Perhaps keeping their relationship secret for several months gave them the time to build a strong foundation.

You know what? I?m actually surprised that more stupid celebrity stuff hasn?t happened already. Maybe it?s taken this long because celebrities had, up until now, thought they were above a peasant-level quarantine. Meaning, self-isolation, social distancing, quarantines, the lack of availability in testing? all of that is for the peasants, the poors. I?m sure that?s how many rich people think. But very few of them are ditzy enough to say it on their Instagram Stories, which is what Vanessa Hudgens did.
The background: Vanessa has been on ?lockdown? like most people, and like many celebrities, she?s been doing social media content, like makeup and hair videos. At one point on her IG Stories on Monday, she looks into the camera and talks about how Donald Trump said on Monday that this pandemic crisis could last until ?July? or ?August.? Vanessa said:
?Um, yeah, ?til July sounds like a bunch of bullsh-t. I?m sorry, but like, it?s a virus, I get it, like, I respect it, but at the same time I?m like, even if everybody gets it, like yeah, people are going to die, which is terrible but like, inevitable? I don?t know. Maybe I shouldn?t be doing this right now?
After that clip was picked up and it went massively viral, Vanessa then posted another video on her IG on Tuesday where she claimed people were twisting her words??
I realize that some of my comments are being taken out of context. It?s a crazy time. it?s a crazy, crazy, time, and I am at home and I am in lockdown and I hope that?s what you guys are doing, too; in full quarantine and staying safe and sane. I don?t take this situation lightly by any means. Stay inside y?all.
I?m including the videos below. I think Vanessa sounds baked as hell in the first one, not that being high is a good excuse for this kind of assholery. She?s basically saying that she?s not going to stay in lockdown until July because by then, the coronavirus will have killed off all of the people who deserved to die and it was all inevitable, probably because they were poor and old? Sorry, I don?t really speak Baked Rich Bitch Celebrity. All of this is deeply fking offensive and her half-assed apology is terrible.

Before now, I?ve never really had a problem with Vanessa Hudgens. I never particularly liked her, but she seemed like a Disney kid who grew up okay there were some growing pains, some leaked photos, some relationship drama, some tabloid interest, but now she?s 30 years old and still working on whatever she can get, pretty much. She sings, she dances, she makes a lot of Hallmark Channel and Netflix movies. It was because of one of those movies Netflix?s The Knight Before Christmas that she sat down to chat with the LA Times. Which is where she mentioned that she would love to do more indie films, and she would love to work with? Woody Allen. Oh, honey. Please don?t do this for attention. Some highlights from this LAT piece:
Why she?s been making so many Christmas movies: ?If I can bring a family together at a special time of year and allow them to escape from their lives and live the rest of their day feeling a little lighter, then I think that?s a really beautiful gift.?
Her roles in ?Spring Breakers? & ?Gimme Shelter?: ?I wanted to be the indie girl. I always have been and I always will be?. I wanted to do those dark films, so I wanted to make sure that I wasn?t going to be put in a box. And the only way to get out of that is to do different types of projects.?
Growing up in the Disney machine: ?When I think of people?s perception of ?the good Disney kid gone wrong,? I think of kids who maybe have had substance abuse [issues] or been in the public eye and having mental breakdowns, and I look at the difference between them and myself. She wants to work with Woody Allen & other big-name directors: Even though she?s been acting for two decades, Hudgens feels she?s ?barely scratched the surface.? And her ambition is endless: The actress would love to work with directors like Quentin Tarantino, Martin Scorsese, Steven Spielberg, Yorgos Lanthimos and Gaspar No. She?d even love to do a film with Woody Allen. ?I love Woody Allen films. ?Vicky Christina Barcelona? is one of my favorite movies,? she says. When asked about mentioning Allen, given the allegations of sexual abuse against him, Hudgens said, ?I don?t know him. I?ve never met him. I only know what I?ve heard. And the fact is, I love his films and I love the romantic worlds that are created within [them].?

Serious question: is Vanessa saying that for attention? Is she trying to get some negative hype around her name? Or is she that? daft? Even if you?re a working Hollywood actress and you don?t really believe Dylan Farrow, wouldn?t you know your industry well enough to know that Woody Allen?s name and brand is too toxic at this point? I mean, I?m sure there are some big-name people who still support Woody, but very few of them (Diane Keaton and Scarlett Johansson) will show this kind of public support. Very few will actually name-check Woody Allen in an interview as someone they?re dying to work with. ?I don?t know him. I?ve never met him. I only know what I?ve heard.? Like, what she?s heard is Dylan Farrow?s heart-wrenching statements. You choose to believe Dylan or you don?t. It?s not some random gossip. Anyway, I guess Vanessa got some attention.

Since Ive been using YouTube to find celebrity interviews there are two channels Im consistently impressed with. One is of course Busy Tonight which is sadly leaving E! after this season but will hopefully be picked up by another network. The other is Access Live with Kit Hoover and Scott Evans. Somehow they always get good quotes from guests and just like Busy theyre so enthusiastic its contagious. Plus theyre fun to watch. They have a new interview with Vanessa Hudgens promoting her partnerships with Propel Water and Avia. She talks about her fitness approach and makes it sound kind of attainable but then you see her body. Shes young and peppy but shes also committed. She had some good advice about working out with your friends too.
Are you a runner, what do you do to work out?
Im tried and true with my Soulcycle, pilates and yoga. I know what works for me. I just keep that up constantly.
What is [one fitness tip you would give]?
Try new things. Theres so many types of fitness for everyone. One thing will resonate with you. Then find a group of friends to do it with. Thats my favorite thing, getting my girlfriends together and going and doing a class together. Then you have someone to hold you accountable. Enjoy it. It can be a fun thing.
Also another fun thing for working out is get fitness clothes, althleisure that youre into. I designed [a collection] for Avia. Its so amazing when you put on fitness clothes.
Shes busting her butt, shes not messing around. Shes previously said that her diet alternates between intermittent fasting and keto, which sounds punishing actually but thats what works for her. As for working out with other people, I love going to Zumba classes and I?ve gotten close some of the women there as weve been working out together for years. I can tell them anything and there?s a real camaraderie in class. Some people dont going to classes at the gym though, they can definitely be loud and crowded. Its hard enough for me to find one friend who will show up and work out with me, so I dont know if I could find a group other than at a class already but that would be awesome. I also like what she said about finding what works for you. Too many people think of workouts as punishment or a chore and make excuses. I get that it?s not everyone?s thing, but it doesn?t have to be boring or tedious. Thats why I love dance fitness particularly.

Oh and she had a Lord of The Rings-themed 30th birthday party last December. She also said shes into Game of Thrones too but isnt caught up. Kat and Scott said the last couple of episodes were horrible so she shouldnt bother. As I said I like them!

I?ve noticed an interesting little trend among celebrity women over the past five years or so: the garbage 20s. As in, more and more often these days, women are like ?my 20s were utter garbage.? Everyone tells women that their 20s should be happy and fun times, full of love affairs and drinking and great metabolism, and that they should use their 20s to figure out the next six decades of their lives. The reality is different though crappy jobs, no savings, love drama, horrible mistakes, etc. Maybe it?s the generation, but it feels like more women are coming into their 30s feeling genuine RELIEF that their Garbage 20s are over.
I bring this up because Vanessa Hudgens is one of those 30-year-old women who seems happier now that her Garbage 20s are done. Vanessa is featured in the current Most Beautiful People issue of People Mag, and she told the mag about her ?midlife crisis? at 27.
Vanessa Hudgens has learned to embrace the beauty of growing older. After experiencing a ?midlife crisis? at the age of 27, Hudgens says she now feels more confident than ever at 30.
?I remember waking up at 27 and that was the first moment where I was like, ?Oh. I am not a kid. I?m not a teenager. I?m an adult and I have responsibilities.? I felt like I had no idea who I was or what I wanted or what I was going after,? she tells PEOPLE in this week?s Beautiful Issue.
And while the actress admits the momentary freakout was scary, it ultimately helped her refocus her life. ?I?m very grateful for it because then it forced me to reassess who I am and what I believe in, therefore giving me just a better understanding of myself,? she says. ?Now that I?ve reached 30, it?s so nice feeling free to just speak your mind.?
But one downside to growing older? Realizing that some pesky problems never really go away. ?I thought being 30 I wouldn?t have to deal with breakouts anymore and it?s something that I still deal with,? she says. ?As I?ve gotten older, I?ve realized that my face is the only one I got, so I have to be good to it.?
Hudgens says she?s also learned the value of self-care. ?The first step was just actually taking care of myself,? she says. ?My health, my skin, my body ? I feel like by doing so, you?re showing yourself love, so it?s creating that foundation of love for yourself.?

It?s not a mid-life crisis, it?s what?s generally known as a quarterlife crisis. I mean, who knows, maybe she?ll live to be 100. Maybe a third-life crisis would be more accurate, but whatever. The point is that people in their 20s rarely have sh-t figured out and they?re still growing as people. One of the best parts about ageing is that you genuinely lose some of those worries and What Does It All Mean feelings. You just get on with it and stop giving a sh-t about the little stuff. And just when you get to a good place mentally and stop giving a fk about the sh-t you can?t control, that?s when your body starts falling apart. It never ends, really!!
